What foundation do you think you'll keep using until it's discontinued?
It still burns me that it’s so expensive, but La Mer The Soft Fluid has held the top spot for a good while now, and while I will go to others in-between, it’s still been outranking everything else for everyday wear (there are others I think can photograph as well or even better at times, depending on the finish one prefers but The Soft Fluid is particularly stunning in person).
I am foundation fickle. I seem to go max a couple of years on a fav before it is replaced by something better. I think formula/technology is always improving so I doubt I will ever find just one I cling to. For full makeup looks, I am still using GA luminous silk as regular go-to, but not as often as Valentino and Tilbury beautiful skin are also reached for. In terms of regular light coverage day wear, I’ve replaced Fenty Eaze drop with Westman Atelier complexion drops.. similar ideas, just think the WA is a superior formula which truly melds with my skin. Fenty is still a great product, cheaper.
I just love basic MAC studio radiance – once I figured out my shade, it’s been my top finish over all I’ve tried.
Koh Gen Do Aqua. It took ~2 years to find it, so….. The issue was allergy to chemical sunscreen. Good formula, but improved-but-still-restricted shade range. I got the darkest cool shade and I’m about an NW 15-18. Not representative of our US population. IMO/not fact: I think the existing shade range ‘fit’ their target market slightly BITD, as their audience was Asian. Now that they’re global, they expanded the range, but not enough.
MAC Studio Fix Powder Foundation NC30
IT CC Cream (I have to check the label for the shade but it may have fallen off). The Dior foundation I love so much has already been discontinued/reformulated/renamed. It drives me nuts when they do stuff like that!
MAC Prolongwear Waterproof… Although after that I can probably move to Estee Lauder Double Wear… and even if that is discontinued, I bet Estee Lauder will reuse the formula in another of their in house brands. 😅
Fenty Profilt’r Hydrating Foundation! I love how it melds with my peculiar oilier than one would ever expect at 63 y.o., STILL breakout prone, larger pored, with eczema patches face. And, it looks great until I remove it at night. It is hydrating, but NOT oily or prone to breaking down. It is a beautiful foundation!
Revlon Colorstay, Dior Backstage and Misha BB Cream
It already was discontinued last year — Guerlain Lingerie de Peau Natural Perfection in 00N. I’m currently bouncing back and forth between the Dior Forever Glow in 0.5N and Lancome’s new Teint Idole Care & Glow in either 120N for winter or 125W for summer. Those two are good, but I’m cautious about declaring them perfect.
Probably the L’Oreal True Match foundation in porcelain rose, which was my standby for many years till I started using the Flower Beauty foundations as my everyday ones in recent times. My all time favourite was Clarin’s Everlasting foundation in Linen – but of course that has been d/c and not replaced.
My current HE foundation is Fenty’s in porcelain and that’s good but I am still looking for a holy grail one.
I try and like many foundations, but mac face and body is a failproof constant – I always have 2 shades on hand. I can’t imagine it EVER being discontinued… (fingers crossed!)
MAC Face and Body, or studio radiance they call it now. No matter what else I try I always go back to it.
I’ve been using up my bottle of EL Double Wear Light to the last drop, almost empty.
I don’t think there is one. At my age (53), and with my health issues/medications, it feels like my skin is changing a lot, and I’m frequently changing up what foundations I’m wearing. My skin most likely get less oily and definitely more wrinkled.
If they still work with my skin, I’d happily keep using my current Laura Geller Baked Balance and Brighten and Lancome Teint Idole 24 H Ultra Long Wear.
Possibly the Loreal True Match Nude serum foundation. It’s honestly been out performing all of my high end foundations lately. Before using the loreal I might have said the GA Luminous Silk
