Sorry, but this Holiday collection is not for me. Too much black in the eyeshadows, if I wear black I look like something from the Walking Dead.
I agree with you about that black shadow – I have more black eyeshadows than I could ever hope to use, since they’re included in just about EVERY eyeshadow palette out there and it’s something I rarely use (I know that for many, a black shadow is a necessity but not for me). Still, the other 4 shades in the Cosmic palette look so promising that I’m almost certain to buy that one if it gets a decent (meaning at least a B+, though higher would be even better) rating here.
Cosmic Eyes looks so very much my mood this fall and winter! Probably why I sprung for ABH Rose Metals palette based solely on several YT reviews and swatches. This seems to be a steady theme this year: grungy antique golds, khaki greens, sultry burgundies, dusty roses, deep gunmetal charcoals or soft blacks.
Cosmic Eyes eye palette will be hard to resist if it’s anything like it looks in the photos – those shades are calling out to me. I’ll be keen to see your review, if you review it. I don’t know if I want it to be excellent or awful (if the latter, it will be easy to skip).
Mariella, I have just read your post from last Friday where you mention your friend is travelling to Australia way up north in Cairns – which is about 3,000 km from where I live in Melbourne. It is so lovely up there and there are lots of things to do and see along the Great Barrier Reef, the pristine mountains and the various animal (mainly crocodile) parks.
They will have a great time. The only downside is that you can’t swim or go into the beaches there because of the crocodiles though. I travelled up there with my eldest son a few years ago now and we had the best time.
I sort of want them both to be awful as I like both. I think the blushes will be easier to resist.
Yeah, the blushes are either too warm or too brown though the presentation is beautiful-typical Dior.
It’s like art. I do love the embossing and the packaging.
I think they could stop putting the little brushes and applicators in the package and reduce the size a bit, but what do I know, maybe people like to have them in there, maybe for a mid day fixing,
The only sponge tipped “included” applicators I’ve found to be any good are those from Chanel – the sponge “core” is covered with fine white fabric and they work well with the Chanel shadows but because they’re so small, they are fiddly to try to pick up without damaging the shadows next to them. All the others seem worthless (I’d rather use my fingers if I ever needed a mid-day touch up, which I’ve not needed in decades thanks to eyeshadow primers).
Before the primers though! I always had to carry the eyeshadows I used around with me, and more than once a day I had to sort of put things back where it belonged and add some shadow. I don’t miss having to do that.
Both palettes look quite appealing to me, probably more so the one with the grey shades. I can see Mariella being VERY tempted by these!
Hahaha 😉. You know me too well.
Oh no I love this theme! Stars and celestial themes are hard for me to resist. Im not sure I could bear to ruin the lovely look of the palette
Yes! Winter-friendly colors for winter. OMG, I really want these to swatch well.
Cosmic Eyes look quite pretty.
Oh goodness. I think I *need* all of this. Gorgeous. Absolutely gorgeous.
I LOVE these, but I’m not sure I need that many dark colors (especially since they can be too much on me). Hoping for swatches soon so I have a prayer of getting them before they sell out!
