What was the last highlighter you used? Give us a mini review!
At the time of creating this QOTD, it was ColourPop Mind Over Matter Super Shock Cheek product. I did ya one better, I already wrote a full review, LOL! It was lovely to use and consistent with the performance of the Super Shock Cheek formula.
Chantecaille Liquid Illuminator in sheen. Easy to use. Stays put and easy to blend. Gives a nice glow. Love it!
Ofra Glazed Donut! The only white highlighter I can pull off due to the fact that I can not only apply it with a fan brush, but that I can very easily buff it out leaving just a very “wet” look instead of anything that looks like I used a white highlighter. It lives up to the “glazed” part of its name!
It’s not technically a ‘highlighter’ but I use MAC Naked Lunch eyeshadow as one. It’s the perfect pinkish highlight I have found. It shows perfectly in photos and in person.
Bare Minerals powder highlighter in Zen. Hard for me to find the right highlighter – can’t wear white – can’t be too dark or too gold – can’t be too light or it will disappear, then why bother. This one is right for my fairly light skin tone. It works for me day or night. Doesn’t last all day is my complaint.
I’m very fair and can’t wear warm toned highlighters as warm tones in general make me look sick so all of my highlighters are pale shades with a cool or neutral undertone. Have you tried a pale pink or cool champagne shade? Give Me Glow’s White Noise and Pretty Vulgar’s Glimmer of BS (the stupidest name) are the only champagne highlights I can wear as they have a neutral leaning cool undertone and don’t leave a cast. Pink shades I’d recommend are Laura Mercier Devotion, Dior Forever Couture Pink Glow, JCat Bella Rose (pressed powder, not liquid), Makeup For Ever liquid highlighter in 20 Soft Pink and, if you can find it on Mercari or PoshMark, Becca’s Pure Pearl, their only baked gelee highlight.
ColourPop Flexitarian. I love it because it goes on smoothly and blends easily and leaves a shine that can be either subtle or visible from space. I like to use it as eye shadow sometimes, too, when I just want my eyelids to look shiny. I just use my finger to apply it. It’s quick, easy, no fallout and stays all day without creasing.
Givenchy Teint Couture Shimmer HIghlighter #2 Radiant Gold, it’s like the name says radiant, easy to apply and build up, it’s Givenchy beautiful.
*I know there’s some controversy with the brand right now but I bought this 2 yrs ago.
Most recently, I used JD Glow Cold Azz Ice and it’s still one of my favorites 2 yrs after buying it. It’s a very pale silvery pink color and the formula is similar to baked gelee in that it’s not at all powdery and just melts into the skin. It’s perfect for pale vampires like me.
Makeup by Mario Soft Glow Highlighter in Pearl. I am very fair, so it can be tough sometimes to find a lower-key highlighter shade for everyday wear – this is perfect. I LOVE the application and effortless blending. Highlighters also tend to expose pores I didn’t even know I had, but it is not an issue at all with this formula.
