Recent Purchases/Rediscoveries: Nothing yet…
Weekend plans:
Photos/swatches for the blog! I’ve been doing this more later on in the week because my physical therapist comes every Monday to work on my hand, LOL, which is rough shape post-photo/editing session.
What are you looking forward to this month? We actually don’t have anything particular/different going on, so hopefully just a low-key month without any crises?!
P.S. — Want to chat with readers on the regular? Check out Temptalia’s Discord where you can chat about beauty, makeup, and more! 🙂
P.P.S. — Check our hubby’s new site for video gaming guides — good if you (or someone you know or your kids!) is into gaming, including crosswords and Wordle. Plus, I worked with hubby to develop our own game, Concludle.

Recent Purchases/Rediscoveries: I’ve been on a search for the perfect product to fix my very long, wild, dry, dull, salt & pepper hair. Recently tried It’s a 10 Miracle Leave-In, but it didn’t do much for me.
Weekend Plans: Visiting family, then relaxing.
What are you looking forward to this month? Nothing really. We were on vacation last week, and now I’m back to the never-ending stress of my job, where everything is ALWAYS a rush. I just look forward to weekends and M-F 5:00 when I can go home.
Recent purchases: Hurrah! I finally bought “stuff” – went to Sephora and got a new tube of NARS eyeshadow primer (the last one they had) because I started using an old tube I have of it (still in perfect condition) and realized how great it really is. I also picked up 2 of the Sephora eyeshadows – Pyramid (gorgeous) and Choc Shock, which fell right out of its container – not the metal pan, just the pressed disc of the shadow itself – as I opened the container. I might return it but I did manage to shove it back into place, a little the worse for wear. This has NEVER happened to me with any eyeshadow before, EVER. At Shoppers Drug Mart, they were out of several things I wanted but I did get another tube of Embryolisse and a Soap & Glory in-shower body moisturizer. Olay used to make a similar type product that I really liked but, to be honest, the only reason I got this product was because they were out of stock on the S&G hand cream. That’s it…I thought this location I was at carried Elizabeth Arden but they don’t (I wanted to get another bottle of All Gone eye makeup remover).
Weekend plans: session with my fitness trainer tomorrow morning, dinner at a friend’s tomorrow night (I’m baking dessert) and on Sunday, getting ready for a nice Easter Monday brunch (I’m hoping my new daughter in law’s mom can join us so she can spend some time with her daughter before daughter’s departure for Japan).
Looking forward to this month: I don’t know if “looking forward” is the word but I do want to get everything in place for the baby shower I’m hosting for my daughter on May 1. Have to get the garden in shape, all the dishes, serving pieces, recipes (and shopping for said recipes) all planned and ready to go. I’ve booked myself off work for the next 2 weeks partly for this reason so I’m also looking forward to not having to get up so early in the morning!
Recent Purchases/Rediscoveries: My Sephora package came like right after I finished last week’s Friday Finds lol but I got the Hello Beauty $10 trial size set, Sephora Rouge Lacquer in Not Your Baby, Innisfree Green Tea cleansing oil, and Glow Recipe Strawberry Smooth serum.
Weekend plans: I’m hoping for a restful Easter weekend at home!
What are you looking forward to this month? My oldest turned 4 last week and that was my most excitable thing this month lol
Recent purchases/rediscoveries: Had to buy new mascaras for my spouse and I, just went with some Maybelline from Target. And I painted my nails last night for the first time in months and months! I went with Julep Norah, which is a metallic orange-base red. I was hope for a more blue-based true red, but out of the dozens of nail polishes I own, the only reds I had were this and a wine-red.
Side note, I didn’t get my act together to take advantage of the Sephora sale so I’ll have to pay full price to replace my expired foundation and my almost used-up Sugar lip balm. But I was at the lowest VIB level so I only missed out on 10% off.
Weekend plans: Today I’ve got to do some filming for a dance project I’m part of (which is also the reason for red nails). Tomorrow I’ve got a 2 hour dance workshop and Sunday morning a 1.5 hour dance class. In between all that dance stuff, spouse and I will go out for dinner. I also have a (digital) library book I need to finish up because it’s due back in a few days.
What I’m looking forward to this month: Next weekend I’m driving down to Portland for a friend’s b-day party and staying overnight since it’s such a long drive. I’m leaving my spouse at home and looking forward to a little solo time as well as seeing friends. I’ll also probably meet my boss while I’m down there, as she lives in the area. My last two remote jobs, my employers lived very far away so I never met them! So it will be nice to meet face-to-face.
I wouldn’t worry for the Sephora sale, last year they sent after the sale a 20% coupon or something just because I didn’t shopped during the sale. 😅
RECENT PURCHASES: Unearthly Cosmetics Sleepover Palette and Cherub Blush.
WEEKEND PLANS: Celebrating my younger son’s promotion at work. A low-key Easter with a nice dinner and some family time.
WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS MONTH?
The current cold front going away, and with it, the terrible migraines. I can’t remember the last time we had snow in April! It’s crazy.
I’ve been seeing so many posts on FB and IG showing snow in the entire upper tier of the western part of the country, Rachel! It’s just plain BIZARRE! Hopefully, you guys get some normal weather ASAP.
It’s been snowing here for a few days, it’s absolutely crazy, the ground is warm enough that it is melting but the grass is definitely covered. I was married 42 years ago in April and it was not snowing. I’m sorry you’re getting migraines ugh! I finally was referred to a neurologist and they put me on Emalgity, once a month injection, I’ve only had 2 migraines and one mild headache since they injected it on the 30th of March. This is amazing for me. The ;price however is not covered under my Blue Cross, but I don’t care, to have headache free days is heaven for me. I hope you feel better!
Poor pupper! LOL 😅
Seems like this is a younger pet problem: Get into a predicament, and have no idea how to get out!
Purchases/rediscoveries: Even though the VIB sale didn’t cover The Ordinary, I saw that I was almost out of a few HG items, so I ordered Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate and Rose Hip Oil, they no longer carry Marula Oil, though. I also ordered a new Sephora Contour Liner in My Boyfriend’s Jeans as my other one had begun to dry up, Smashbox Always On Fishnet Liner and 24HR Eyeshadow Primer (hey, I’m still looking for something that can stand up to my acid allergy tears!), ColourPop Peeps collection SSS’s in Yellow, Lavender and Green, plus the Lavender Lip Glow and Sunnyvale Eye liner pencil (why am I getting a sense of deja vu as I type this out???) I picked out those 3 Peeps shades because I love ND Pastel palette, but realize that I would mainly only be using the shimmers/metallics, and maybe 2 mattes, therefore, not worth the investment.
Weekend plans: Tonight I’m attending the Memorial of Christ’s death at the Glendale Civic Center 8 p.m. Tomorrow and Sunday are just continuing to rest and heal up. Hard to believe that it was only 3 weeks ago that I had that major surgery. The pros felt like I was rushing myself, but I don’t want to feel confined to a facility and be at the mercy of strangers.
What are you looking forward to this month? Hopefully, by the end of April I’ll be given the go-ahead to get in the pool! And someone; please refrain me from placing ANYMORE Old Navy orders, please? Their sizing is so OFF. I ordered a few tops from their site, I do usually wear an XL in them, so that’s what I ordered. All 3 are ENORMOUS! 😵
Anywho, those are going back!
EDIT to add to purchases:
Just took advantage of the two sales at MAC and ordered a new tube of Cosmo Amplified Lipstick and because I’m still quite pale, a tube of Pro Longwear Nourishing WP Foundation in NW30. Perfect shade for me until I ever get to the pool…
Recent Purchases/Rediscoveries: Nothing new cosmetics wise.
Weekend plans: Tomorrow I’m getting my car serviced… it would be probably a big deal since it’s the first service since the accident (might require more realignment) and last time most of my tires were on orange (most likely going to get new ones). During that time I usually go to a shopping center nearby, dropping some Back to MAC items and maybe browse a store or two, although I hate even more than before crowded spaces. 😅
Sunday I think I’ll go somewhere with lots of flowers… in my home country Palm Sunday is actually called Flower Sunday (Florii), suddenly I feel the need to get back to some traditions after the terrible year 2022 proved to be.
What are you looking forward to this month? “hopefully just a low-key month without any crises?” I’m in this stage at this point… I just want a boring month without any crises. Or just one week without any bad news.
I would like to look forward for travel… but each time I make plans to go visit my family there’s either a new variant or a war.
So I look forward for good weather??? It rained yesterday and it will rain tomorrow again (very unusual for California), so that’s a stretch.
Cute Winston, “Mommy help I am stuck!”
Haul: I picked up a couple of things from the MAC sale but nothing else. I forgot to mention last week when I listed my Sephora haul, that I used points to pick up a Kiehl’s mini sample set and I am liking it so far. I need to completely overhaul my skincare routine and thought this would be a place to start. Of course, a small tester sample isn’t going to give me any idea of how it will work so if anyone has any history with Kiehl’s skin care, let me know.
Weekend: More of the same. The sun is actually shining today so if it continues into the weekend I may get out and visit my favorite creeks. I find sitting next to the water and listening to it run over the rocks, really relaxes me.
Monthly special plans: I don’t really have any for this month. I am going to Seattle the first week in May so mostly looking forward to that and to bringing Sophie home with me. I have missed having the little bugger running around the house. When she lived here with me she would spend every evening sitting on my lap. My daughter’s roommate sent a picture of Sophie sitting on her lap and head butting her and purring. She sent it to both my daughter and I. We were both instantly jealous and had to remind ourselves that since her roommate is home all day with her, she is bound to go to her for affection. I will get her all to myself for almost 3 weeks.
Deborah – so, so sorry for not responding to you earlier because I hadn’t seen you next post to me. I checked it today to see what I had written last week and saw your message. Most definitely I can help you. I will email you today.
Thank you so much, Genevieve. I will await hearing from you.
Recent Purchases: nothing this week, but two of my preorders from TerraMoons arrived!
Rediscoveries: My TerraMoons singles. They’re gorgeous!
Weekend plans: Easter with my family. My son is at a fun age to celebrate.
What are you looking forward to this month? Finally snapping out of the seasonal funk I was in for a few months. I didn’t realize I was in a funk until I started feeling better.
Oh Winnie – getting into things that you can’t get out of! Sounds like baby Harry to me!
I can imagine Christine that your hand would be quite sore after a session with the physio – I know mine is! And I hope that it is getting a bit better. It must be so painful for you.
Recent Purchases: Nada.
Rediscoveries: I have been using up my Huda’s Smokey Obsessions palette as I have definitely hit pan on the shimmery shades that I love (all of them!). It is a lovely formula and works well with my colouring.
Weekend Plans: Just because my younger son’s family have moved out, doesn’t necessarily mean that they have CLEARED out all of their stuff from our house – if you get my drift! Grrr. So yesterday (Good Friday) I spent the day sorting a few things out and clearing out their posessions into a tidier pile….
There is still quite a way to go, so I am hoping that during the school holidays they can collect more of their things.
My twin sister is by herself this Easter weekend and now that we have our guest bedroom back, she is coming for a sleepover today untill Easter Monday, which will be lovely. The family are coming over for a BBQ tonight as they are going up to Anika’s family in Kinglake on Easter Sunday. I don’t get the kids Easter Eggs (I leave that one to their parents), but I buy them Easter pyjamas and clothes.
We are going to have a fairly low key Easter Sunday and we are going out for dinner on the Sunday night. I am going to do a bit more cleaning and shopping today.
What are you looking forward to this month: April is one of my favourite months of the year because it heralds the cooler weather and colder nights – it’s our Autumn here and I love going for drives in the countryside and up into the hills and mountains. I also like colours of autumn and hope that these shades are found in the shops to add to my autumn/winter wardrobe.
First of all, Winnie is adorable!
Recent Purchases/Rediscoveries: I actually bought a few things! All from MAC, two lipsticks, Beam There, Done That and Cheery Cherry, I love both, I also bought Glow Play Blush/Wild Cherry in Flowerscent.
I got their new mascara as a sample, as well as Strobe Cream in Pinklite and Prep + Prime in Natural Radience Pink.
I did order a few things from CP. but will talk about them when they arrive, and today I ordered some stuff from Clinique as they had a 30% off. I think I “need” to get me some more products from CP, the Lavender Lip Glow, their swatches was tempting, but when I saw it here I was sold, have to have it!
Weekend plans: As it’s Saturday when I write this the weekend has really begun, and I had coffee with a neighbour couple, it was nice. They have a giant schnauzer, who at the age of three is getting to be really sweet and a bit more mature. I love schnauzers in all three sizes!
What are you looking forward to this month? Not freezing when walking the dog and being able to start gardening.
Recent Purchases: ND Pastel, Colourpop That’s Taupe and Deck SSS
Rediscovery: I’ve been pulling for my PML palettes again. Divine Rose 1&2
Weekend plans: not much but I am going by my dad for Easter brunch😋
Looking forward to this month: hopefully warmer weather. Next weekend is supposed to be in the 70s!!
Recent Purchases/Rediscoveries: Not a purchase, but my hubs gave me my birthday gift early–the Kaleidos Futurism palette set and the 2 multichrome highlights. It was very sweet of him and I’m really enjoying playing with them.
Weekend plans:
Unpacking from our recent move. Thank goodness we are nearly done!
What are you looking forward to this month? It has been a hectic and very difficult couple of months, so I am just looking forward to resting for the most part. I am excited for new seasons of Russian Doll and Barry coming soon though.
Recent Purchases/Rediscoveries:
I placed a ColourPop order-Darth Vader palette, Ur the Zest Colour Stix set, the new High Roller highlighter, and Hotline Cheek Dew blush. I also bought the Physicians Formula Gold Vault palette and 3 packs of Neutrogena makeup remover wipes during the weekly grocery run.
Weekend plans:
Worked all day Friday, weekly grocery run made Saturday night, Easter dinner with Mom’s side of the family Sunday.
What are you looking forward to this month?
The tulip bulbs (purple blooms with blue centers) that my grandma bought for me when I was a kid have just sprouted 7 buds! I’m not sure if any of them will bloom before April ends or if they’ll all wait until May, but I’m happy to see so many buds!
