I like pastels but the shimmery ones like these don’t look so great on me. All the matte pastels in this are very pretty.
An all matte/more saturated pastel palette from Shroud (f/k/a Strobe) is the Creepy Cute palette, due for a restock. Peek at it.
Thank you, Christine, for these swatches, which help me make up my mind. To me, there’s a sameness in all the blue pinks, and then the three shades of a similar teal. Two out of three of the warmish gold tones are thin. So for me, there’s just not enough variety to warrant the price. I’m sure in your review, you’ll create some nice looks. But I just found in my stash an Addiction palette I got a few years back and the shades are so much more beautiful. So I’ll pass on the ND Pastel.
I’m feeling a little torn on this one. Primarily because I do have Viseart Coy Palette and still have KVD Pastel Goth Palette. Both of which show up on my medium to medium-tan, depending on time of year, skin. This one runs rather pasty, ashy on several of the lightest mattes. And this on your light-medium skintone, so I cannot imagine it on me!
Pretty, but a bit lighter than I prefer. Those blues all do look very similar.
Underwhelming. Kinda bummed.
This is a true pastel palette, with a lovely gradation of shades in different finishes. From the swatches I can tell that it’s going to be up to ND’s usual standard, no real duds here.
This palette is so Sephora Pantone Universe vibes.
Limoncello and Mint Frost are both from Tropic palette and I love them. I don’t have anything like limoncello in my collection – it is a very original shade. Can’t wait to pick this up when it invariably goes on sale later in the year.
To quote Jean Brodie, “for those who like that sort of thing, that is the sort of thing they like”. This is so NOT my sort of palette or my sorts of eyeshadows.
I have this palette and love it so far. I will say, these shades show up well on me, but my skintone is very light. Also, layering the cream to matte and the traditional mattes with each other really punches things up, and I love that.
Pastels are always on the controversial side, and not just because they are difficult to formulate. They often do not appeal to those who favor colorful looks. Too washed out! They can be challenging to incorporate in fully neutral looks. Some see them as childish or usable only in a limited season. They can seem dated, although they clearly are having a revival at present. With deep set eyes and major circles, I find pastels bring the eyes forward and focus on the waterline/lower lash line, distracting from the circles. Being old, they can bring in subtle color without being ‘trying to hard’, editorial, or ‘act your age.’ I’m glad to see this, despite not scoring it. Do have dupes and a couple of pastel palettes already. Thank you for coming to my pastel TED talk.
Hi Christine! I discovered so many monochromatic or colorful looks from Natasha’s new Instagram posts about this launch. This color combination is so dreamy but not intuitive for an amateur. Would you make a pan rearrangement like what you did for Natasha’s glam palette? I found that very helpful.
Looking forward seeing your review coming next. I am so excited to try these colors on!
