Spicy

Coloured Raine Spicy Cream Blush ($16.00 for 0.28 oz.) is a bright, tangerine orange with warmer, yellower undertones and a satin finish. It appeared redder in the pan, but it was much more yellow-toned once applied and blended out, even when layered up. The texture was overly soft, prone to displacement whenever I used fingers (even gently) as the product wanted to slip and slide outside of the compact. It was also a little thicker, which made it easy to pick up an excessive amount of prdouct.

I’d recommend using a fluffy, synthetic brush to pick up product, and even with a light hand, I was able to get more than enough product. I tended to swirl the brush on the back of my hand to ensure I didn’t have too much product. It was richly pigmented and blended out fairly well on bare skin and on top of foundation. It stayed on well for eight hours before fading a bit.

Formula Overview

$16.00 -

The formula didn't have a lot of claims, only that it is supposed to be a "silky cream" texture that "helps moisturize the skin" with "the right amount of color." The texture was incredibly creamy; it felt like it was half-melted from the sun, because any pressure caused the product to displace quite a bit.

I'd highly recommend using a fluffy, synthetic brush and a feathery hand to pick up product, which was enough pressure to pick up more than enough product as they were intensely pigmented.

Worth noting: after the initial release of four shades, the brand released two additional shades in a smaller format, and they were significantly less creamy, thick, and had a thinner, lightly emollient texture that took longer to dry down and were not quite as pigmented (but still quite pigmented overall--I just didn't have to use the gentlest touch to grab product like the original shades).

Despite being one of the creamiest formulas I've come across in the cream blush realm, it had a full dry down to a more "natural" matte finish--not totally flat but not dewy at all. The blushes applied fairly well to bare skin and on top of foundation, but I found fingertips were more prone to lifting up base products with this formula.

They wore around eight hours on me before fading visibly.

Love the colour! Very particular! I’ve a sucker for pure orange shade – the one yellow based. But, until now, every orange I’ve tried – either on lips or as blush + leans always very pink or red. The maximum achieved result is a balanced pink- orange coral hue. Mystery of undertone behaviour 🤷
