Elf putty primer
Colour Pop Plush Like Me and Lucky. Penny palettes.. it’s not Natasha, but I love both colour stories and the mattes are pigmented and they’ve paired them with nice shimmers that apply quite well. Oh, and I really love Pressed and Venus Slipper colour stix… so much so I bought backups.
I was just about to comment those palettes! Ive just tried Plush Like Me for the first time today and I’m super impressed by the matte formula. I was wondering if Colourpop have changed their formula?
My last few “budget friendly” purchases have only been budget friendly because they were insanely marked down at Winners/Marshall’s (under 12 or 15 dollars for products that retailed for $45 and considerably more!). But Sephora’s pencil liners (if that’s “budget friendly”) are something that has always impressed me (not so sure about the new and “unimproved” version of Cappuccino). I guess one thing that does come to mind is the 7% Glycolic Acid Toner from The Ordinary. Also, Milani eyeshadow primer.
ColourPop Sonic Bloom Palette! It is a dream to work with and has a rather unique color story to it. Also, ColourPop Tinkerbell palette and Lip Stain Gloss, too. Really haven’t had too many “misses” with the brand, TBH.
I’m on a hunt for good lipstick colors for my coloring so it’s been lipsticks lately. The Revlon Super Lustrous lipsticks are really nice and I was nicely surprised by the ColourPop Blur lipstick. Those were more comfortable to wear than I expected.
The e.l.f. Bite Size eye shadow palette in Hot Jalapeño and the Milani Conceal + Perfect Shine Proof powder (which has enough coverage to work as a foundation).
I should probably skip answering this question as I didn’t buy any makeup while I was lost in depression but I have to say that one of the only budget products that I love and repurchase a lot, is the Cover Girl Super Sizer in waterproof. I have used this mascara for what feels like a million years. I do layer mascara these days but for the previous 35 years, I used only this mascara. As I have mentioned before, this formula has undergone several name changes over the years but I always hunt to figure out which is the “new” mascara. For the longest time, this mascara was the only mascara that didn’t flake, smear, give me raccoon eyes, etc. I like the way it makes my lashes look. So, I will get off my mascara soap box now, LOL!!
I wondered where you were Deborah, hugs to you, life is definitely not a bowl of cherries, hopefully things are looking brighter for you, sometimes we have to search for that brightness.
Hi Brenda,
Yes, life does hand us our challenges. I am doing much better and just in time to start back into winter, yay! I am taking Vit. D this year and trying to force myself to get out more. Living in the woods in Montana does not offer a lot of opportunities to do things unless you are young and ski, skate, etc. At 68 and with terrible balance, neither of those are in my future. Anyway, I am happy to be back and feeling better and hope that you and your family are doing well.
I am pleased more and more people are honest and forthright about mental health issues. Being physically alone is much different than being mentally alone. As a person who lives alone and does not have direct family, I found the first 6 months of Covid (and the complete shut down in Canada) very very difficult. After I rehashed all the ‘mistakes’ I made it my life, I decided it was time to give myself a bloody break. I hope the vitamin D helps this winter, Deborah!
Thank you, Wednesday. When you live alone there is no one to recognize your symptoms and perhaps intervene. I didn’t realize how deeply I was into the depression. I would cry at every TV commercial. I would seek out sad YT videos of abused animals, etc. I was talking to me daughter on the phone one night and I was crying. My daughter asked me what was wrong and I told her that I had found a cat at a shelter in Utah, who had been born at the shelter and was paralyzed from the waist down. She was incontinent and had lived at the shelter her entire life. They were actively trying to find someone to adopt her so that she could know life in a loving family. I was getting ready to drive to Utah when her profile disappeared from the website. She had died. That was it for me. My daughter called my brother and I got treatment. It takes a long time to pull ones self out even with medication. So, if the housing market holds, I will be selling my house next spring/summer and moving to a larger town where there is more to do and closer to health care. I do appreciate your support so much. Hope all is well with you.
Beauty Bay Wilderness Palette. Great quality and a stunning color story.
There are a few budget products that I am impressed by:
Maybelline’s Spice for Me and Mauve for Me lipsticks – very much staples in my lipstick arsenal
L’Oreal’s True Match foundation in Porcelain Rose
Designer Brands Centre Stage mascara
Models Prefer Blonde eyebrow pencil.
Bh Sweet Shoppe eye shadow collection rivals high end eye shadows. Also some of their monthly eye shadow palettes are really good too. Juvia’s Place rarely disappoints with great color stories and pigmentation at a reasonable price. You can just about always count on quality on the cheap at Colourpop! And Colourpop makes great eye shadows, eye liners, brushes and lip products. I love my Colourpop monochromatic eye shadow palettes and eye liners! Plus Colourpop brings the variety!!
The most budget friendly item I purchase on repeat are the Ardell Demi whispi Studio Lashes – I love them – I love the velour flawless and Huda samantha I’ve tried Lilly miami and many $30 lashes but I just still love my ardell which are pretty cheap any mostly on sale
e.l.f Holy Hydration! Makeup Melting Cleansing Balm – just a tiny bit takes off all my makeup and leaves my skin feeling so soft and hydrated.
Pixi Glow Mist, I spray it on as a setting spray and so far I’ve used it three times or more during the day and it’s worked very nicely. I didn’t really notice that it gave me a “glow” though.
Revlon Ultra HD Matte liquid lipsticks (they’re actually more of a satin or demi-matte, but they’re called “matte” in comparison to the metallic variety). I have many of the pink and red shades, and I’ve found that they feel pretty comfortable and go on smoothly.
