NARS Lodhi Satin Lip Pencil Review, Photos, Swatches

NARS Lodhi Satin Lip Pencil ($25.00 for 0.07 oz.) is described as a “vibrant coral.” It’s a brightened, orange-coral with warm undertones and a creamy, satiny finish. MAC Style Surge is very similar, but it is more pink-tinted. MAC Vegas Volt is darker and has some pink/red tinge. OCC Electric Grandma is more orange and shimmery.

It had rich, opaque color coverage, and it applied evenly, smoothly, and easily onto the lips. Lodhi had a creamy, lightweight texture that glided across lips with ease–no tugging or pulling–and felt comfortable to wear during the five and a half hours this wore for. So far, this is the most hydrating shade I’ve tried from NARS’ new range. I’d actually describe it as hydrating, rather than just slightly!  It’s packaged in pencil form, and it does require sharpening. It is not nearly as soft as the Velvet Glosses but a touch softer than the Velvet Mattes.

I love this, and it looks so good on you! I really enjoy the look of orangey corals, even if they are hard to pull off on my skin tone. Out of curiosity, if somebody who was cool-toned wanted to try a shade like this, would you recommend Lodhi or one of the MAC shades? 🙂

I initially loved Style Surge from your review but when I went to try it at the MAC counter, it goes on very sheer on my lips. This looks very opaque, will def go try it out.

It looks so lovely on you. Could you compare this to Casablanca?
I just got the lipstick, and now I see your review.I should have seen Lodhi too at the counter..I want to buy it…but I’m a little worried if it’s kinda waste of money because these two look quite similar..

Do any of L’Oreal’s Vivids (Shocking Coral 870 or Vibrant Mandarin 885), L’Oreal Coral Crush (515) Or Nars’ own Bolero have too strong of a resemblance to this if I already have those colors?
