What is your favorite feature to highlight?
My eyes for sure! I think it’s partially because I like my eye shape, but it’s also where I have the most fun applying makeup.

Of course, eyes.. but eyes are becoming more difficult as I age. I also really love doing my cheekbones. I have good structure there (and no lines or wrinkles) and so it is easy to bring them out.
The most FUN favourite feature to highlight is eye of course. But wearing eyeglasses, the real winning feature for me to highlight were lips. So I have many fun bright lipsticks. However, with the mask mandate still on, my lipsticks are taking dust. So until the feb 2020, my focus shifted fully on eyes. It is the only kind of makeup I can still wear (my face and lips have to be bare under mask, or my skin reacts badly). Strangely enough, even if now the focus is full on eyes, I’ve become more subtle about eyelooks. Once I used to wear always mascara and liner over eyeshadow. Now I don’t even own a mascara anymore and I seldom wear eyeliner. It is all about eyeshadows, and much lighter. I do not why, maybe it is fault of the fact that my face is half hidden, but sonce the pandemic, I don’t like heavy eyelook anymore.
My lips. I am happiest wearing red lipstick, a little mascara, and an otherwise ‘neutral’ face.
Although lipstick it’s what sparked my love for makeup and it’s certainly what gets me more enthusiastic, my favorite feature to highlight is my eyes.
It’s not a matter of hating myself, how I look without makeup (I often go without it) or body dysmorphia, but I think my eyes and my entire face looks odd without eye makeup. I look really washed out, my eyes are small and centered so lots of attention ends up going to my larger jaw. Just applying a little bit of eyeshadow to contour the eyes or a little bit of eyeliner at the base of my lashes makes a huge difference on balancing my features.
I love to highlight my eyes because I see this immediately improvement and because I need to put emphasis on my eyes even when applying a bolder lipstick or cheek product.
My eyes. I like the color and shape. They are my only facial features that I really like. Plus, I can can get really creative with eyeshadow.
My right eye’s gotten a bit wonky from an intolerance to sorbitol. It’s not that noticeable to others but I can’t help but see the asymmetry. It’s like there’s an extra crease and the eyebrow’s gotten lower! I’ve stopped doing liquid eyeliner and now I use eyeshadow instead (much more forgiving with the application).
So I thought it has to be the lips! Nothing wrong with those! Lipstick brings me instant happiness and it’s guaranteed joy, you know? If it’s a good lipstick and a good colour, you can’t wrong! Plus, it doesn’t take a lot to put it on and you can’t go wrong with it (unless you bought without reading the reviews here)! So over the last few months I’ve focusing a lot on lipstick, even wearing 2 or more a day! When I’m looking at my lips I’m ignoring the eyes! My answer should be lips!
Buuut….! Then I thought…. Bloody heck, back in the day (when my eyes looked the same! hahahah) I did 3 eyeshadows tops (on veeeeery special days) and just the other day I did like 7 or 8 (and I don’t even have that much space)! And I’ve been putting on 4 or 5 a day just to go the supermarket… So, my heart’s telling me lips but my head’s telling me eyes… and they can’t come to an agreement. Answer is: lips or eyes depending on where the wind blows.
Probably my eyes, although I also love showing off my high cheekbones, too! Those are my two best features.
Oddly, I get a lot of compliments on my skin, but I owe that to a great handful of foundations, concealer, and Hourglass Dim Light Ambient Lighting powder. Because while, yes, I’m not showing my age, I do have issues with breakouts, eczema patches and rosacea underneath the makeup.
It used to be a toss up between eyes and lips but with masks still very much a necessity almost everywhere (workplaces, shopping, museums, restaurants except when actually eating, and I pray our idiot Premier doesn’t ease up on this any time soon, much as I don’t like wearing a mask), my lips are usually covered, so “the eyes have it”.
Well that’s a tricky one for me to answer – I dlo so love my eyeshadoes, but my eyes are hooded and I wear glasses (not that that deters me from wearing and purchasing eyeshadows though!).
But I think the answer to the question would be my lips because lipstick instantly brightens my face.
My skin is in pretty good shape for my age and although I don’t ‘highlight’ it by wearing highlighters, it does add to the overall effect I am wanting to achieve.
My eyes for sure, it’s my creative pallete. …also because of mask’s mandates ..
Although I’m doing a more neutral eye with a dash of Chantecaille “Tiger” emerald green accent…
