What do you look for in a cheek color review?

I want to know if it was applied on bare skin or foundation, and if it was reactive when applied on top of any base/bare skin. I like understanding how buildable/easily buildable the formula is because I don’t love super-pigmented blush/bronzer that has to be gingerly used.

Mostly I want info about texture (how it applies, is it patchy) and finish (matte, satiny, sheen, shimmer) and wear time is also good though wear time is not a deal breaker for me but it’s good to know ahead of time. I can see the colour for myself so can tell if it’s a good’un or not a flattering shade for me.

I need buildable blushes as anything with too much pigmentation makes me work too hard and is generally incompatible with my fair skin tone. Also, pink-toned rather than yellow-toned, to match my complexion. Nice to know if it emphasizes texture, although I can still work with it. And lastly, wear time – some days I need 12 hour coverage. That usually means combining cream and powder, which is now my go to even for short days.

How it looks on textured skin or pores is definitely important, I don’t know how I forgot to mention this.
It’s almost unfortunate that so many reviewers have perfect skin. That’s why I like Nikkia Joy on YouTube, she really shows how products look on pores; and of she with her skill can’t make a blush work, I’m useless. 😅

Pigmentation and blendability. I am not skillful with blush and I like a subtle blush effect, so I am looking for not too pigmented blushes that can be easily to build and blend without being patchy. I like reviews that show blush under different lights, and in which during application the cheeks are not fully covered by the arm or blush.

I definitely want to see real life swatches and a detailed description of the shade colour, undertone and finish. I would like to know how easy it is to apply and how it blends and how long it will probably last. the finish is important to me as I prefer semi matte to matte finishes. I don’t like blushes that have yellowish undertones because I am cool toned. Absolutely no glitter at all.

I like to know if it emphasize pores. How it applies to bare skin and atop of foundation, how easy it is to blend out, the pigmentation and the finish. It’s also helpful to know the tone (warm – cool) sometime I think my screen is trying to trick me 😀
Wear time is interesting, and last, but not least the finish.
