Mini mascaras are the bomb. I wish every formula came in a mini version.. I’m not even concerned about increased cost. I simply cannot use up a full-sized mascara fast enough.

Your skin tone/colouring: Light medium, yellow undertones. Dark brown hair (now with some grey!) and brown eyes.
Last skincare product you finished? Fresh Lotus Youth Preserve Dream Cream but it was only a deluxe sample pot.
Last hair care product you finished? Head & Shoulders dry scalp care shampoo. I wish it was something more glamorous but I’m terrible at using fancy hair products.
Last makeup product you finished? It’s a tie between 2 foundations, Hourglass Vanish Seamless foundation (which was NOT seamless and did not “vanish” into my skin!) and LA Girl Pro Coverage illuminating foundation which actually does do everything Hourglass claims but at a fraction of the price. I ended up mixing them together.
I was interested in reading your comments about LA Girl’s foundation CeeBee and think that this is a much underrated brand.
I think it’s brilliant! And super affordable… I don’t like the matte longwear one so much but the illuminating one is the bees knees as far as I’m concerned, I have backups! 😉 I swing between Fair and Natural, depending on the season but it also mixes really well with other foundations that aren’t quite right as far as shade, depth or finish goes.
I don’t love everything from the brand but the Ultimate Auto lip liners, Glossy Tint Lipstains, Fanatic blush palettes, Mastery eyeshaow palette are great and Lip Attraction lipstick in Cutie is my absolute go, wear with everything lip colour. I always carry it and it’s like $11 🙂 It’s a cream but they do some really beautiful semi sheer luminous ones that I think would be right up your alley, if you want to check out Idol, Silky and Sugar Plum!

I’ve just taken a look at the brand’s website and my wordy wordy those lipsticks look great and I can see why Cutie is your go to. I do like Idol and Silky, but think Sugar Plum would turn pink on me.
I became interested in the brand because I was bored one evening and decided to switch on a Youtuber who was reviewing her best and worst palettes so far this year. She ripped into Tom Ford for having shades that were so similar to Buxom’s singles and commented on how LA Girl’s Desert palettes’ shimmers were equal in quality (but the mattes were average) to the Buxom products. So reading your comment sparked my interest overall. I always love a new, good lippie brand.
I got LAG concealers that are quite good. I’d try a bb, as long as it was mineral.

Joico shampoo – I’m not sure of the name but it’s the one for coloured hair and it’s in a golden bottle; I’m not sure if they even still make this; I used to be able to get large bottles of it at Winners or Marshalls but lately I’ve not been able to find it. I’ve still gone one unopened large bottle and a partial other bottle; I do hope I can find it because even at regular price, I like it

Last hair care product you finished? I have again just about finished a L’Oreal Pro Fiber shampoo that I used for the first time and loved it so much that I ordered a second one. It’s really nourishes my scalp and leaves my hair soft, shiny but not oily.
Last makeup product you finished? Just yesterday I finished a bottle of L’Oreal’s True Match foundation and opened today another one. I always have backups of this.

YOUR SKIN TONE/COLORING: Cool medium-dark brown hair (w/ a somewhat orangey-ish shade near the tips) & brown eyes. NC15 so fair i.e. like I live below the ground, and what the experts call a “warm undertone”, but in reality is a waxy yellow-ish shade.

LAST MAKEUP PRODUCT YOU FINISHED? The one nearest to being finished I’d say is the Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer – finished the concealer, though the powder wasn’t even half used. Tbh this week I’ve put some things aside but they were far from finished and just weren’t fit for purpose anymore – a sign I wasn’t particularly keen on them and won’t be repurchasing either. It’s interesting (and bloody expensive!) how some things work so well for so many and so poorly for others.
