I got my Temptalia On the Horizon palette yesterday and, of course, used it immediately. I loved the look – Magellan’s Light center of lid), Phoenix Awakens inner and outer corners) and October Odyssey (crease).

My BIG question – I had a fair bit of fallout with Magellan’s Light, which disappointed me a bit. I don’t know if it’s the brush I used or the method but what would you recommend to dampen my brushes to help hold it in place. People talk about “sticky bases” and such but I don’t really know what to use. Would Fix+ or even plain water keep it in place during wear time? I love the colour and would love to be able to use it without the fallout issue.

Ha! Problem solved! Sephora used to make a glitter eyeshadow applicator – a silicone “wedge” on the “business end” of a brush handle (Lise Watier also used to have one). Before I read your reply, Christine, I was putting on my shadow again and used that thingy and – zut, alors! – no fallout! But I will give the Fix+ method a try too (if I can find my bottle of Fix+). To today, it’s Magellan’s Light (inner 1/4); Earthbound (outer 3/4) and Wedge in the crease. I’m SUCH a happy camper!

Happy to hear you had success with it, Mariella! There might be a lil’ fallout applied dry because of the flecks of larger sparkles (but not glitter) initially, but they should hold on pretty well throughout the day. My other tip would be to use a bit less than you might think – sometimes if I haven’t used Sydney Grace’s formula in awhile, I forget just how pigmented/rich the shades can be and pick up too much product as a result!

I used the SG Quintessence light palette, basically the bottom row, to make a cool-toned, smoky plum eye. I paired it with Mac’s Under My Plum blush and was very pleased how it came together.

I’ve also had a lot of fun on playing with all-matte combos, which is usually a neutral brown palette scheme, although I love using the green mattes from Melt Gemini too!

Christine, the look that you did that’s in this post….is it “Calming Presence of One’s Heart Dog”? Or “Lunar Illumination of the Desert”? I’ve looked through your Looks and those are the closest two but I can’t really tell. Is it possible to link it in this thread? I’m always keen to try out your “Looks” when I’m using something new.

Using shades from your SG x Temptalia On The Horizon and Quintessence, I did a gorgeous, glowing smokey eye the other day.
First, I laid down some MAC Bamboo as a blending shade, then: Parallex (Q Deep) in the crease blown up and out, Interstellar to define and deepen crease, The Mielke Way on inner mobile lid swept upwards into inner crease, Midnight Courage (OTH Deep) outer V and outer lower lashline, Earthbound on mid mobile lid, Flying High on outer mobile lid and lower lashline, Heart Dog inner tear duct. Stunning!

I really love the eye look I have on right now! I used blues from the Nabla Cutie Midnight palette with the browns from the Nable Cutie Analogue palette! I used inspiration from instagram for the color combo because I would never think to do it but it turned out pretty great!

A week of camping in 90+ F weather and forest fire haze, then coming home to the worst heat wave in state history and major allergy eyes (even indoors) means I haven’t done anything fancy with my eyes in awhile. I haven’t gotten to wear my SG x Temptalia palettes yet.😭

I think the last combo I loved was using the Viseart Coy Palette:. The bright yellow all over the top lid, the lavender on the lower lid, L.A. GIRL Shockwave Eyeliner in Vivid (lower water line), Fenty Cherry Punk eyeliner (top lid kitten flick), and Clinique Black Homey mascara.
