Guerlain KissKiss Shine Bloom Lipstick Balm Swatches
Guerlain KissKiss Shine Bloom Lipstick ($39.00 for 0.11 oz.) is a new, permanent formula that is supposed to have “full coverage” with a hydrating, lightweight feel that is available in 20 shades. Here are swatches!
Eternal Rose and Tender Lilac are the ones that caught my eye first run through the swatches, but honestly, many others also look delightful, too!
Hmm – I don’t think these are quite full coverage and they look a little sheer to me. Many of the shades are fairly similar to each other too.
I’ll wait to read your thoughts about the formula but a lot of these shades seem fairly standard, similar to what’s available from other brands and similar to each other.
Way back before the flood, I loved everything Guerlain made, starting with their perfumes and blushes. They were one of the few companies that understood that you could be warm-toned and very fair, which was a novel concept in the 70s. I detest matte lipstick and I’ve always looked better in translucent lip colors, so I’ll be checking for the reviews. I’m interested in seeing if they have toned down the perfume in the new formulas, as well as how long they last, sans mask. I do agree that there are several near dupes within the collection, but I’m particularly interested in the fuchsia (there’s a typo in the picture caption for fuchsia flush (409) and corolla rouge (819). Thanks so much!
I love things antediluvian!
Some are just way too sheer; some are lovely, though. I may have no choice but to get Daisy Red (love the colour, but more importantly, Daisy was the name of my beloved Golden Retriever). But I have to say that to me, just like the Petite Robe Noire lipsticks, these are just too expensive for what they are (which is my feeling about those lovely but pricey similar products from YSL and Hourglass); I’d sooner get the Sephora Rouge Lacquer lipsticks for a fraction of the price (except for Red Daisy and that’s just silly sentimentality….it would actually make more sense to donate that money to my local Golden Rescue or Humane Society).
Christine, I think there might be an error in the weight of these….the 2 I looked at said they contain 11 ounces of product. That’s a HECK of a lot of product, and makes the price much more appealing 🙂 but I think maybe there’s a decimal point missing???
I see it’s fixed now. I was sort of hoping – for the price – that it might be 1.1 ounces but .11 ounces – that just doesn’t seem like much. Guerlain has never been a “mid-range” line price-wise. Some of their products are “almost” worth the prices but I find the price of cosmetics generally is really going through the roof (the same is true of my grocery bill in the past year).
I fixed it after your comment!
When I saw “full coverage “ in quotes I knew I had to click the swatches 🙂
I’m not seeing the brown sort of shades that draw me in right now, so my wallet is safe 😉
