ColourPop x Bambi Life in the Woods Creme Gel Pencil Trio Review & Swatches
Life in the Woods
ColourPop Life in the Woods Crème Gel Pencil Trio ($TBA for 0.012 oz.) is a new, limited edition trio that includes three pencil eyeliners; one metallic finish and two matte finish shades. The quality was so-so; they could have been more pigmented, but the real issue was that two of the three shades did not apply as evenly as they should have.

LELimited Edition.
Raindrops
Raindrops is a darker pink with moderate, warm undertones and a metallic finish. The consistency was soft, creamier and less waxy compared to other shades in the range. It had semi-opaque pigmentation, which built up fairly evenly and well. The color wore well for seven and a half hours before showing signs of fading.

The updated formula is supposed to have "18-hour" wear that is waterproof and be "super pigmented" for both the lash line as well as the waterline. The brand stated that the formula will set "after around 10 seconds." Many shades had semi-opaque to opaque, buildable coverage, but some shades had uneven, sheerer coverage that did not layer well, so they were more challenging to apply and to use.
The majority of shades were creamy enough to glide across the lash line without tugging or pulling, though a few shades were stiffer, more prone to breaking or dragging.
The formula seemed water-resistant based on testing with water, but the wear was more like 10 to 13 hours (depending on the shade) rather than 18 hours of solid wear. A lot of the shimmer shades lasted four to six hours on the waterline, while more matte shades tended to last five to seven hours on my waterline. These are long-wearing times for a pencil eyeliner, generally, but they are a fair bit short of the 18-hours claimed so a lot of shades rated lower than they might seem if you aren't a stickler for 18-hour wear!

Meadow
Meadow is a pale yellow with moderate, warm undertones and a matte finish. It had semi-opaque color coverage, but the product applied unevenly on my lash line. It just seemed to gather and clump near my lashes and look streaky on my waterline, so it was hard to use it without accepting its imperfections. Since it’s eyeliner, the thinner the line, the harder it is to see unevenness from a “normal viewing distance.” It stayed on decently for seven hours before fading visibly.

Purty
Purty is a light-medium, pink-purple with warm undertones and a matte finish. It had medium coverage, which was somewhat buildable, but it did not build up evenly. I’d recommend using a dense, stiff pencil brush to diffuse, which helped to even out the layer better than layering it did. The texture was smooth and didn’t tug on my lash line, but it may have been too waxy. It lasted for seven and a half hours before fading noticeably.

Too bad. They looked like a unique eyeliner set.
If Meadow had done better on the waterline, I would have wanted that one just to reduce some of the redness I have going on this time of year. Oh well.
Nope – they just aren’t quite right, are they?
Boo. This collection is weakish overall. Devil on the shoulder: But you’ve gotten sucky liners from CP and UD before and made them work… The yellow is quite similar to the one in the Fresh Cut (pastel) set. Kind of liked the pinks.
I was getting my hopes up but nope.
I still might get purty to use as a lip liner since I think it would work with some of my most used lipstick shades.
I haven’t been able to find how to twist this eyeliner to get more product to appear. So it looks like the tip is all the product you get? Really expensive for a very small amount of product.
It just twists up for me – I haven’t had an issue with twisting them up!
i have exactly the same problem, you twist the bottom little part or what?
Ahh! I forgot what liners were in this post – these are ones you sharpen! You’ll need a good sharpener to do so.
