What was the last beauty product you were glad you waited to buy?

Well, I’m glad I didn’t purchase ALL of the NARS Air Blush shades. At least I saved some money — I don’t mind spending money on products to review, but if a whole range is poor, then it feels unnecessary to tell you just how terrible each and every shade is (gets to feel a little over the top, at least to me!).

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! It’s got to be Marc Jacobs Prim-O eyeshadow. I wanted it ever since I bought the 2 earlier shades I got from that line but couldn’t really justify the price for ONE shadow because I’ve got so many similar shades (Kitten, Naked Lunch, All That Glitters….I could go on and on). But now it’s on sale (still a steep price for a single shadow but there’s lots of it and it’s a real “wheel-house” shade for me) so I’m glad I waited and saved myself a “whole” $11!

Becca Ignite liquid highlighter in Love. I got it on sale, plus a coupon, which is good because it 100% isn’t worth the full price. It’s the only new liquid highlight Becca came out with that’s suitable for fair skin. Buuuuut it’s oily, stinky, and chunky. I’ll enjoy it on my body, but it’s almost unusable on my “non-teenage” skin.

(You save me so much money with your reviews. it’s rare I buy a bum product and I honestly can’t remember the last thing I bought and hated)

MAC Heart Goes Boom lipstick and Set Me Off Lipglass. Not because I don’t love them! I do. However, with our current situation of needing to don masks while out and about, I am not so sure when I’ll be able to wear either one of them in their full glory. I have actually tried wearing Heart Goes Boom under my mask. It wasn’t too awful, but I did have a couple small smudges that I wouldn’t have wanted others to see. Set Me Off is easier to get away with. Those Lipglasses are fairly tenacious and don’t easily smudge

Just last night, I was tempted to order the Colourpop That’s Taupe eyeshadow palette because it is 25% off and looks great in photos. However, I changed my mind once I re-read Temptalia’s review today and saw that two of the shimmer shades got Fs. Had I not waited before reading the review, I’d be 10 bucks poorer and in possession of a mediocre product.

Yes, the Nars Air Blush products have turned out to be duds – and that is surprising for NARS – as their blushes are generally good value.
Because I wait for a review of a product here, I never end up with a dud. I am struggling to think of a beauty product I was going to buy, but was glad I waited for a review and then didn’t purchase the product. It was probably a lipstick.

The UD wild west thing
The Nars air cream blushes (thank you Christine for saving us money!)
Stila glitter topper things

PS; thank you, Christine and team, for this site. What a god-send, saved so much time and moeny and headache. Also, much less garbage!

The latest UD Naked iteration (Wild West, I think) – I Iove teal-greens and russets but it rated below my standard, so money saved!

Fenty Beauty and Rare Beauty cream blushers – I still want them but I have MAC’s Glow Play blushes and that’s just enough cream product for me. For my first foray into cream cheek products, those are plenty for me to play with and get a good amount of use before they turn.

So much!
Products from Mario (master eye & prep set after reading reviews), Pat McGrath Lip Fetish Astral (on sale now and I still have decided not to buy, because I don’t need and have a close enough dupe), Rare Beauty Melting Blush (I think the soft pinch I have is the better choice), Melt Digital Dust in Buzz Kill (I’ve discovered I have dupes).
Plus the ND I need a Nude Lipstick, there were two I was looking at, but once I saw them on you, full face, I knew they weren’t for me.
Those are just off the top of my head.
