Melt Cosmetics x Beetlejuice Gel Liners & Pigment Paint Review & Swatches
125 Years
Melt Cosmetics 125 Years Gel Liner ($19.00 for 0.088 oz.) is a medium-dark cement gray with neutral-to-cool undertones and a semi-matte finish. This particular shade seemed to take longer to dry down to more of a mostly matte finish than other shades I’ve tried in the same formula, though I didn’t have issues with it settling into fine lines as it did so.
The consistency was creamy, smooth, and emollient, which definitely made it feel more like a gel-cream formula, as it was very fluid but not prone to sheering out or applying unevenly. It wore nicely for 10 hours before fading a bit.

The Afterlife
Melt Cosmetics The Afterlife Gel Liner ($19.00 for 0.088 oz.) is a bright, chartreuse green with moderate, warm undertones and a matte finish. It had nearly opaque pigmentation in a single layer and built up well–when I applied it with a flat, eyeshadow brush, it seemed quite pigmented. The texture was smooth, fluid, and like a gel-cream, so it had the fluidity of a gel but the density and opacity of a cream. It was easy to use as an eyeliner or as an eyeshadow/base if desired. It stayed on well for 10 hours before fading a bit.

Utterly Alone
Melt Cosmetics Utterly Alone Pigment Paint ($19.00 for 0.084 oz.) is a vivid, inky violet purple with subtle, cool undertones and cooler pearl that gave it more of a pearly sheen. The pigmentation was semi-opaque and buildable; I noticed that as an eyeliner, it was more likely to need a second layer than when I used a flat, synthetic brush for more all-over application.
The consistency was smooth, creamy, and fluid (the gel aspect coming through), which made it easy to work with in a variety of ways and kept it from sheering out too readily. It lasted well for nine hours before fading/creasing slightly.

These look great! Does anyone with hooded eyes have experience with the formula? I’m thinking about getting a few colors in this formula for myself.
I’ve never tried the Melt gel liners before, but I’m dying over Utterly Alone! Wow, I’m seriously considering getting it… Someone talk me out of it!
Utterly Alone is just…*chef’s kiss* 🤩
Do they take a while to set? They look very creamy.
Doesn’t instantly dry down but not too long – I don’t feel like I have to hurry but also don’t feel like I have to re-blend to avoid it getting into fine lines!
Utterly Alone is stunning – such a vibrant purple shade.
Utterly alone is why I’m going to brave the lunch. Crossing fingers!
Wow. This is the first time I’ve been tempted to pick up one of Melt’s liners—that purple looks great, and I love the idea of the grey too.
Utterly Alone looks like my kinda jam! What gorgeous purple wings I could get out of this jem. 💜💜💜
I’m with everyone Utterly alone is a must have for me. I like the gray but already have the MAC dupe Palm Trees (kinda darker) and I don’t wear that one too often but it is a unique fun color.
Did Utterly Alone stain? It’s reminiscent of Jafar Satellite “Zombie Kiss”, a liquid lipstick that has similar colouring. As his products are eye safe, I used it for liner, but noticed the pink in the pigment left a line on my eye. This looks like it would, but you usually note whether they do or not, and I wanted to double check. This whole collection was a bust for me save these liners and the liquid lipsticks, but I’m waiting for your review on those before I fall completely in love. Thank you!!
I don’t recall seeing staining!
Wow these are gorgeous! I love all three💕
These look so damn cool. I love Melt’s colors and haven’t yet tried their gel liners. Utterly alone and Afterlife are beautiful!
It’s funny, I really like 125 Years because my favorite handbag in the entire world is in that exact shade of gray and it makes me want it.
But I’m not going to buy it for that reason alone, haha!
Utterly Alone for the win. Thank god I’m duped for the gray. How I loved Beautiful Monster. That whole Sephora pencil collection was terrific, but had much too short a shelf life. Bummed me out, since the colors were TDF, but if you thought to replace them, the newer ones didn’t last any longer than your original. Meaning, #1 and #2 died at the same time, despite one being newer. Arrrrgh.
