When is Black Friday 2020?
Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving (which is November 26th), so Black Friday 2020 falls in November 27th, 2020 this year. More and more brands participate each year, which can make it overwhelming to know when to shop or whether a deal is really good. That increased competition has given way to Cyber Week 2020, which kicks off November 23rd, 2020 and marks when most of the earlier sales begin, through Cyber Monday 2020 on November 30th.
What is Black Friday 2020?
It’s a popular day for brands and retailers to launch mega sales and promotions geared to get your holiday gift-giving dollars. The day after Thanksgiving typically marks the beginning of the holiday shopping season, so retailers get into the season by trying to entice customers with steeper discounts.
I’d be happy if Ulta brought back its 20% off (including prestige brands) deal. I have to use up my points this year because I drop Platinum status as of December 31st. Had Ulta had its 20% off deals earlier in the year, periodically as it did in the past, I may have been able to maintain my status. But its non-prestige brands are way overpriced (even with the $3.50 off), so I couldn’t justify overspending on those items and bought them at Target or Wal-Mart instead.
If they quit the 20% off deal because of Covid, they should have already turned it back on. I wonder how much in sales they’ve lost from people like me. I can’t say I’ll miss the pressure to have to spend a certain amount that seems to be increased every year or two. Now I’ll be a nobody like I already am at Sephora. Which ends up being no big deal and, to me, a bigger loss for these stores than for me.
From what I know, at least earlier this year, was Ulta couldn’t keep up with the sales they were making – they were actively trying to slow down sales to catch up on orders, actually!
I recall your telling me that before. I wonder what’s the holdup in not offering the discount now as I don’t see any shortages online or in my store.
I think they just sent me a $15 off $75 coupon last week.
I know this is slightly off topic, but did you see the news today that Ulta is expanding into Target? I’m not quite sure what that will look like or if you earn points from shopping there vs online or in an Ulta brick and mortar.
I saw! It’s still almost a year away, so I don’t think there are a lot of details yet! It sounded like it would be pushing prestige, though.
Hmm nothing really sticking out to me here. The few things that I liked did not have great reviews upon closer inspection.
Macy’s beauty deals look the best to me so far, unless Sephora surprises
