Have you purchased any mega sets this holiday season?

Not yet! I don’t usually purchase mega sets–mega palettes, mega kits–because it takes awhile to get through. I usually only do that if they are products bundled together (at a discount) that are available, permanently and individually.

Please help us streamline the comments' section and be more efficient: double-check the post above for more basic information like pricing, availability, and so on to make sure your question wasn't answered already. Comments alerting us to typos or small errors in the post are appreciated (!) but will typically be removed after errors are fixed (unless a response is needed).

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

No. I rarely buy sets of any kind during the holiday unless it’s something specifically my daughter wants. I don’t usually buy the stuff geared for the holidays. I like to buy more special and unique things for my loved ones during the holidays not generic Christmas sets

No, mostly because I’m “mega-not-excited” but also because, at most, I’ll purchase a holiday palette or a value set of skin or hair care but never an actual “mega set” or “vault” because I like to pick and choose for myself, according to my tastes and also to my needs (which, to be honest, are minimal and I’m running out of room for more makeup).

I treated myself to the Estee Lauder purchase with purchase, probably for the first time in 15 years. The only item I buy regularly is the Double Wear Foundation, which I only use once or twice a week. I also love the Bronze Goddess light bronzer, but the one I have will last forever.
The reason I went for it is the full sized Advanced Night repair. I had a deluxe sample that I loved. The eye cream is great too. In fact, I love the whole kit except for the eyeshadow palettes. I had forgotten how much I like their blush and lipstick.
I bought one Pat McGrath quad. That’s all I’m buying for myself for the rest of the year. I’m not going to make VIB at Sephora this year, and that’s fine.
On a side note, the best mega set I ever bought was a big set of Urban Decay 24/7 eye pencils.

No, and not going to. I’ve found in the past that holiday releases are usually poorer quality than regular stuff. Wasted too much money that way.

Nope. I love makeup and reading Temptalia’s posts and everyone’s comments, but I’m at point of just buying a few makeup items (eyeshadow colors or blushes) to fill a hole in my collection or to replace something. I’m pretty much done in buying anything major, makeup wise.
