Although I’m pretty fair, about an NC15, I bought this one over some of the lighter blush duos offered because it’s striking and unique to my collection. I’m so glad I went with what called to me. The highlighter is a beautiful light gold to pink duochrome that’s hard to capture in photos. I have a yellow olive undertone and the base disappears on my skin. It’s not glittery, just a lovely sheen. The shifting color matches perfectly to all my blushes. The formula is creamy for a powder and applies easily with any brush I’ve tried. I’ve gotten the most intensity from my Sonia Kashuk fan (synthetic duo fiber). My Chikuhodo Kazan squirrel brushes give a softer glow. Not gonna lie, the blush is challenging to apply on light skin. I go very VERY light handed with patting motions and a bit of buffing after. I’ve had the best results so far with an inexpensive synthetic duo fiber brush and the RMK cheek brush (dense fluffy squirrel hair). The color is so flattering and looks like my natural flush. Some of my other blushes seem to sit on top of my skin but this one becomes part of it. The formula is finely milled and drier than the highlighter but there’s no kickup in the pan. I only have to touch the brush to it to pick it up. I like both the blush and highlighter as eyeshadows too. I used the blush to blend out a black smoky eye. It mixed with the black to make a beautiful orchid purple. Unlike many bright pink pigments, it didn’t stain my skin. I’ve worn the highlighter as a brow bone highlight and a sheer wash on the lid with bronzer in my crease. It’s pretty pricey but I am getting a lot of use from it. The downside is the product life is listed as only 9 months and the pans are huge. I don’t understand the short life as it does contain preservatives. Powders typically last longer anyway so we’ll see.
