What's your favorite season for new collections and releases?

Summer, probably. I feel like spring is more focused on skin, which isn’t a bad thing, but I’m always drawn in by eyeshadow-heavy releases, so summer seems to be the season where there are a lot of launches with some intensity/depth. Holiday can have some cool releases, too, but it really does vary wildly from year to year.

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Autumn, despite the fact that it’s often ignored. Some companies, especially indie brands, do bring out fall collections. I feel like a lot of neutrals and light makeup looks come out in summer, and it’s nice to get into fall colors, jewel tones, and deeper shades of blush and lip colors. A lot of indie brands do Halloween collections as well. In past years, I’ve loved getting items from various winter holiday collections, but I’m not too impressed so far this year. Also, my birthday is in October, so I end up getting a lot of coupon codes or freebies in fall.

Falliday, since the 2 seem to be combined now. I don’t much care for Spring releases because of the pastels and summer is either skin focused or neon and brights, which are also passes for me. I used to really look forward to MAC’s jewel-toned, earthy Autumn releases.

Definitely Autumn and sometimes Winter – with the releases of autumn toned eyeshadow palettes and accompanying lipsticks. I am drawn to the shades of golds, bronzes, olive greens and soft browns.
For lipsticks, I like the bronze, russet reds and red/orange kind of shades.

I love autumn and winter for new collections when it comes to the products I use, because that’s when the rich, non-chemical/cheap gourmand scents that I enjoy are really popular/abundant.

Unfortunately, so are spiced scents and/or cheap, chemical alternatives.

Probably holiday and summer.

Holiday usually has the beautiful jewel tones and reds and vampy looks.

Summer has the bronzes, the turquoise, etc.

However, the summer products arrive in late May and the summers here are very short and so products last a long time. They seem to have a short shelf/usage life and easily go in to the next summer.

Spring is usually pastels and they don’t always work for me. Most spring stuff here doesn’t hit the stores til late February or March and then two months later, the summer stuff comes in.

Too bad that the fall shades don’t last for Canadian winters which can run from November to late April. Not like shoes/boots, etc. which can be worn til that time. By March, the fall/winter shades seem too dark.
