I buy EVERYTHING PMG. But sadly, this is a pass. There is literally no context in which I could use this. Oh, to be 20 at a high rise in Times Square on New Year’s Eve again…

Jane Avatar

Ha! Yeah right the dreaded mask! No way with this! Even if I’d wear it being well over 20, I don’t have any place to do so, so yes, concur a pass. Please someone share with us if you doooo!

V Avatar

Wearing a mask everywhere is mandatory here so it helped me feel like less of a mess for not wearing much makeup anymore. I guess this kit is for that perfect Zoom call look or more likely for the gram?

Melissa Avatar

Wow, what an incredibly niche product! I suspect only PMG collectors or people who do photoshoots would be using this. And there’s no way I’d be kissing anyone with crystals on my lips?! ?

Ivy Avatar

Admittedly I might be missing something but I am struggling to find a reason to use this outside of MUA work? Only other option I see is IG photos/YouTube artistry makeup but it’s… a strange release to me. Even if I was going to holiday parties this year, it just feels like something I would need others to help me with to get a “perfected” look, another reason why I find it impractical.

Frozendiva Avatar

Why? Who is the intended customer? Where would you wear this?

Is it a one-use product? That is a lot of money for a one-time wear. Can you reuse them? Do they come off easily and you just put them in to a tissue and rinse them out in a mini colander and then dry them out for another use? Does someone put them on your lips for you? Can you talk?

I’d feel like I was wearing a bunch of cold sores on my lips. So impractical.

I am usually not this jaded, but this package is a ripoff.

The lipstick is a mini tube–not full size. A tube of Duo adhesive is between $5 or $6 and crystals at any craft store are not much more expensive than that, either.

I feel like this is not worth the money, even in the context of being a luxury product.

V Avatar

Those aren’t Swarovski crystals or hard-to-find crystals AND it’s not a full sized lipstick? I hope the glitter and color of the crystals are nicer than they appear on my screen. Many double ended stone applicator tools aren’t pricey at all. Duo is about $5. So is latex free. Neat kit idea for a photo op but it doesn’t feel as though it’s worth fifty bucks let alone 75.

I agree with all comments posted. I can see MUA at stores wearing but again with COVID-19 mask in full swing…I don’t see that happening. Maybe she made it for the runway models??? Would be ok maybe if the lipstick was transfer resistant with a very fine glitter

Sarah Avatar

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a product that was more blatantly for Instagram. There’s no way this would be practical. Maayyyyyybe if you just used the glitter? Maybe?

I saw “Crystal Lip Kit” and I was all, ‘ Oh, cool, like a glittery lip gloss or something!’, and then the page loaded and I was like, ‘Oh. Literally just crystals on your lips. Okay? I guess?’

But really what use does this have beyond photo shoots/MUA/editorial work? Why would I spend $75 to achieve this look when I could get 90% of this at the craft store? Is there something special about the crystals that makes them lip safe somehow? If there is, the copy doesn’t say, and you’d think that’d be a big selling point.

This is so confusing. I do love Elson, though; it’s one of my favorite reds!

Lea Avatar

I would think that the budget-conscious MUA (which is probably most of them!) would know to buy these supplies at the craft store for 90% less money…. also do they make edible glitter? Wouldn’t that make more sense?
