What type of products do you prefer using fingertips with?
I like applying primers and tinted moisturizers with fingertips. Occasionally, I like using my fingertip to smooth out an eyeshadow if I’m using it more all-over the lid.

I use my fingertips for a lot: Applying primers/moisturizers, some foundations, blending out concealer and cream blush/highlight, and applying shimmery/metallic eyeshadow to my lids. My fingertips are my best and favorite tools!
Primers, tinted moisturizers, patting medium to dark lipsticks on to give them a soft blurred effect, any metallic eye shadows, some of my Super Shock highlighters, and under eye color corrector and concealer. I am not one to get grossed out by my own hands. I wash them and have never had issues with applying products by hand/fingertip and feel that many products perform so much better when you use the warmth of fingertips (especially concealers).
Pretty much all my skincare and foundational items. I will apply serums, moisturizers, primer, and foundation with my fingertips and may buff out the foundation. Eyeshadows only if a cream or gel formula, or a liquid blush.
I really really don’t like makeup sponges and the beauty blender makes my foundation look terrible. So mostly light taps with the fingers and maybe a quick buff out with a foundation brush.
I’m glad I’m not the only one that’s not impressed with beauty blenders.
Skincare/sunscreen
Wand concealers (I use a brush for pot concealers)
Eyeshadow primer
Lip Balm
Oh, and I do not use a guard to do eyeshadow outside edges and I use the side of my finger to swipe upwards. It’s difficult to explain. I prep the area with a tiny bit of creamy concealer before I put on e/s. I don’t use a tissue because it feels too scratchy, so I have devised the side of my finger as the tool ?
In the last two years or so I much preferred applying my foundation and concealer with my fingers, I feel that the products mesh better with my skin, my concealer creases less.
I use my fingers with pretty much ALL of my Colour Pop Super Shock Eyeshadows and Blushes. They have great pigment, but it’s hard to capture it on a brush. My finger keeps it concentrated so it shows up better on my skin. Otherwise, it’s just a lot of sparkles. LOL 🙂
Skin care, face and eye primers, concealer, some foundations, some cream blushes, and some shimmer and glitter eyeshadows.
BB Cream, cream blush or highlight, some concealers, and certain eyeshadows that just apply better with my fingertips, especially cream-to-powder or glittery formulas.
Skincare, certainly.
Primer and color corrector
Concealer on my eyelids and under my eyes
Cream blush
After I have applied everything and spray on setting spray, I use my hands to press everything in.
I swatch colors with my fingers all the time. Beyond that I use my fingers mostly for skincare application like moisturizers, serums, as well as concealer and primer. With cosmetics I might use them to smooth out a liquid or gel eye shadow if I’m using just the one color or to tap on some lip color for a more diffused stain otherwise I prefer brushes. I don’t care for using my fingers for a lot of cosmetics because I feel like I’d have to be washing my hands constantly so I don’t muddy shades as I work, or (let’s be real) get the colors all over the rest of me because I’m that kind of klutz lol.
I really don’t mind using my fingers and hands to apply product, if I get a better finished look doing it that way. I routinely use fingers for skincare, primer, spreading foundation (although I blend it in with a sponge), for concealer, and for shimmer/ metallic eyeshadows, as well as most cream blushes and cream eyeshadows. Sometimes I will place a cream with my fingers and then blend out the edges with a brush or sponge. I also use my fingers to get clumps of mascara off my eyelashes and to “untangle” my upper and lower eyelashes after mascara at the outer edge of my eye… (am I the only one this happens to!?)
I think I may be behind the curve with finger application. I use my fingers for foundation, creme blush and hi-lighter, lip products. That’s all. I have made it my mission to learn to apply eyeshadow.
My skincare products, eye primer, concealer, foundation, and some metallic shadows when I want to increase the intensity and coverage a bit. I’ve horrified some people when I told them this, but your (clean) fingers are free beauty tools that are always there!
Fingers- inner corner highlight, foundation, concealer, cream eyeshadow, cream blush.
My skincare oils, moisturisers, primers and foundation.
All of my base and the eyelid color.
