CP is wearing me out BUT I want this. All matte? Sunflowers? Yes, please. At least I didn’t order last week’s Candyland release, so OMG two weeks between orders!
is it just me or is colourpop getting really boring?
Nope Johanna – it isn’t just you. I feel that all their palettes are running together with the same theme.
I’m amused by the specificity and uniquely ColourPop-ness of an “end of the summer” collection “for August 20th.” Well, partly amused and partly tired.
I wonder how many of the products ColourPop has released since they reopened were in the works before they closed (probably Candy Land), and how many were conceived after (maybe this?). I’m sure they were still brainstorming and designing during stay-at-home orders.
It seems to me these were all conceived before the pandemic for the releases to be timed this crazily close together.
If I remember correctly, ColourPop released new products once a week until closure, and it seems they’re just getting back up to pace. Since they resumed manufacture, they’ve released: Sunflower on August 20th, Candy Land was the 13th, Garden Variety the 6th, Wild Nothing July 23rd, freckle pens July 16th, Pretty Fresh foundation July 9th, and Tie Dye on June 11th. (I excluded a brush set, restocks, and launches from Sol Body and Fourth Ray.) Seven drops in 10 weeks!
Now this I like! It does remind me a little bit of one all matte 9 pan that MAC has that I’ve always planned to get, but have yet to pull the trigger on. Something about these rich earthy mattes is just so appealing!
LOL! I do like sunflowers and all but I think I will wait for swatches. The ultra glossy lips is my go-to lip gloss and I’m glad Colour Pop is adding more.
I’m from the Sunflower state and am very excited for this TRUE matte palette. Thank you CP for not throwing in those micro glitter mattes. I don’t have a ton of yellows in my collection and am a fan of mattes so I’ll be getting this one. It’s not my typical type of shades, but I like it a lot.
Aw, it reminds me of being back home in Kansas with all the sunflowers everywhere.
I’m still not going to be buying it.
Feels a bit like ColourPop is working their way through the whole plant kingdom!

So, nothing here appeals to me. Sunflowers are not my favorite and I would never wear most of these shades. I have too cool and too fair a complexion for any of these to look nice on me and I don’t care for these shades either. I mean, if I liked them I would wear them anyway but not my colour story. One caveat about sunflowers, while traveling through North Dakota we came across field after field of six foot tall sunflowers all with their faces turned towards the sun. It was a beautiful site, a sea of green, yellow and gold.
I…can’t really tell the difference between this collection and the last two. Not a good sign XD
ColourPop, please stop! Diminishing returns on quality paired with the frenetic pace of releases are going to kill your brand.
That photo definitely shows the palette in a more attractive light, but I’m not really a fan of all mattes or of the color story, even though my little sister’s nickname given to her by our granny is Sunshine. I definitely do like the super shocks and the glosses though!
The eye palette is definitely not for me (all matte and yellow themed shades), but the lip and cream gel liners might be interesting.
Your sunflower imagination is far more interesting than CP’s. Theirs is totally generic, and yours shows the grand variety of these iconic showstoppers.
I feel like a lot of people are sick of Colourpop’s release schedule, and I understand where they’re coming from, but CP doesn’t have a direct withdrawal from your account (at least I haven’t come across that). You don’t have to buy every release, you can let them pass you by, or wait until there’s a sale and get them way cheaper. But I’m so excited for this launch! How long have we been asking for an all matte palette from CP? This is the extremely wearable and more versatile version of the Uh-huh Honey palette imo, and I’m counting down until 10AM PST!!
My favorite part of these is seeing the themed designs they put on the Super Shock stuff. This seems like a really cohesive collection, super cute.
