Is it my imagination or has Ulta basically discontinued giving 20% off on orders (including prestige brands). I feel like it’s been a while since Ulta offered this, whereas before the shutdowns, it was a periodic offer.
As an affiliate, when the pandemic first started, they kept saying they had to put affiliates to 0% commission because they had too many sales… so I don’t know if they don’t want to increase sales… beyond what they can fill? I guess.
Hmmm. Interesting.
I was just thinking this too. It used to be at least every 3 months. I miss the shopping spree from those coupons. For years it used to be relaxing to go there and check out new things.
But something went awry a couple of years ago at my local Ulta. Two different occasions caused me to stop going there completely. I’m kind of boycotting them right now.
TropicalCowgirl, what happened (if you don’t mind sharing)? One thing that was annoying at my local Ulta, that made me avoid going for a while and led me to complain to the manager, is there was a non-Ulta (Lancome brand) saleswoman who would deliberately seek me out in the store to ask to help me, no matter where I was. It was so obvious she was targeting me because I’m older (in her brand demographic); sometimes there would be younger shoppers nearby and she’d ignore them (even when they were closer to her) and make a beeline for me. It was so annoying as well as insulting (who wants to be hounded in a makeup store just because she’s older?). After I complained, the saleswoman was gone but then several months later, she was back. I’ve been leery of going into Ulta ever since, and if I see her, I basically have to avoid the entire prestige-brand and skincare areas part of the store.
