What's your current lip care routine?
I use Sara Happ The Dream Slip at night (sometimes the Lip Slip if I haven’t done a ton of lip swatches for a couple of days), and then I just use a towel after a shower to rub my lips for exfoliation. I don’t find I need much more!
Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask!
I use the Laneige Lip Sleep Mask on my lips at night and exfoliate with a sugar scrub about once a week. I usually keep something on my lips because if I don’t I chronically lick my lips and they get pretty dry and cracked. So, I find if I have some sort of lip product on, I lick my lips less and therefore need less exfoliation during the week.
Lip balm (from a tube) after dinner. Vaseline before bed.
Lip balm throughout the day especially after eating, currently one of the Dinoplatz Too Cool for School scents.
I use Aritaum Ginger Sugar Overnight Lip Mask at night, a much cheaper alternative to Laneige.
I find that with that and staying hydrated, that’s all I need.
I use Tatcha Camellia lip balm. That’s it. I apply morning and night and sometimes during the day. My lips are no longer dry, but I am rarely wearing lipstick as in I think I have worn it twice since pandemic and I think it has helped the condition of my lips actually.
During the day I re-apply as needed Paula’s Choice Lipscreen SPF 50. At night I just make sure to apply my moisturizer or oil booster on my lips as well. When I feel the need of a little bit of scrubbing, I simply rub my finger with oil on it, I hate the feeling of scrubbing particles against my lips.
At bedtime, I always slap on a good, thick coat of Jack Black Lip Balm to wear overnight.
For daytime, I do the same thing if I’m going to the pool. Otherwise, I only use MAC Prep & Prime Lips for under my lipsticks to both improve wear time and to keep my lips conditioned.
Yes, I do slough off dead skin daily whether wearing a lip color or not.
Nuxe Reve de Miel Lip Balm. I use it at least twice a day, morning before makeup and at bedtime. It is the only lip balm that works during our harsh winters. Regarding exfoliation, I only need to do it about once a week or even longer. If I have had an episode of chapped lips I will exfoliate once the chapped phase has resolved.
I just use a lip balm every single night, even in summer and that’s about it. Although I am thinking of purchasing a lip scrub because I think I need to use one every now and again.
I wear a balm during the day, either alone or under my lip color. At night, I wear a richer, less waxy balm. About once a week, I exfoliate with a sugar scrub (usually the e.l.f. stick).
I’m currently using Cerave Healing ointment at night and either Nivea Blackberry Lip care or Neutrogena Revitalizing Lip balm spf 20 during the day – both have nice tints and are comfortable under masks. I use a paper towel dipped in coconut oil to exfoliate after my bath.
I still use Lip Fusion XXL as a lip mask at night. Yes I know it’s been discontinued for quite some time now. I get it on eBay, it’s becoming really hard to find but not impossible; the diehard fans know there’s nothing like it on the market. I’ve been using Lip Fusion since 2005 I think, the dehydrated collagen spheres really work to plump your lips long-term and I credit it for keeping up my lip volume as I age.
I have a little tub of Dr. PawPaw lip scrub and ointment for physical exfoliation, I give my lips a good scrubbing a couple of times a week. I also use the Fresh lip exfoliator (forget the exact name, I bought it from Sephora) it’s an acid-based chemical exfoliator that works pretty well, I’m happy with it.
I use Lord & Berry Lip Oil Potion before going to bed. I often apply it as a first step when I sit down for my make-up routine as well.
During the day I use a lip balm as needed (I switch up brands and formulas).
Sometimes a scrub (Sara Happ (though hard to find in my region) or Lush).
When wearing lipstick, I always opt for hydrating formulas, such as Chanel Rouge Coco Shine or YSL Rouge Volupté Shine.
I have gone thru several tubes of Skyn Iceland Berry Lip Fix. Originally it came in a subscription box and quickly became my favorite. I use it first in the morning & last at night plus a few times during the day when home. It is creamy, stops the post-liquid lip dryness, & not sticky. Sold at the local Ulta. Great stuff. It replaced carmex, Lanege, & a few others that never seemed to soften the liquid lip dryness.
Laneige lip sleeping mask at night, and during the day I use whatever lip balm I happen to be carrying around with me. Right now it’s Tarte’s Quench Lip Rescue. I’ll exfoliate with a scrub once or twice a week, usually at night.
