Do you ever wear makeup to alter your mood?

Oh, absolutely! I find that there’s something relaxing and soothing about sitting down and doing my makeup each day. It’s such a massive part of my day-to-day routine that skipping it often feels like a sign there’s too much going on elsewhere (and usually not in a good way!). Most of the time, I always feel a little happier, little more like myself, after putting on my makeup.

I wear makeup every day unless I’m severely sick or have an allergic reaction or something along those lines. It just makes me feel normal and in a routine. Yes it brightens my mood and I enjoy wearing it!

Yes, absolutely. The other day I wore MAC Siempre Selena Retro Matte Lipstick, a gorgeous, rich red, even though I would be wearing a mask for hours. True, no one else saw it, but I *felt* it. Felt an extra little spring in my step, a boost to my overall mood, plus a sense of confidence and empowerment. I’ve also been known to choose shades of eyeshadow to go with whatever mood or state of mind I want to be in.

I feel you! Every day, even if I don’t put on any other makeup, I’ll throw on a bright lip while stuck at home just because it makes me feel so much more like myself—even though no one else is going to see or care.

I love doing my makeup. It gives me joy most of the time and it is very relaxing. I do my makeup even during the lockdown, when I’m not going anywhere. (: I wish I could wear full, intense looks every single day!

Yes. I’m either leaning into a mood with the way I do my make up or I’m setting the tone for the day. I like the creative process of it and it is definitely part of my morning routine to the point where if I don’t do at least something, I feel something is off or that I haven’t finished something all day and it just nags me. For that 3-minute-look, at the very least I have something on my lips and mascara and then I’ll typically use whatever I use on my lips as cheek color.

Goodness yes. On days when I feel like I don’t look my best, putting on makeup that flatters me or disguises that I’m not feeling great will absolutely lift my mood. I guess the only mood change is to lift my spirits. I can’t imagine makeup ever slowing me down or bringing me down if my spirits are a bit too high.

When I am in a mood, nothing can alter it. ? For me make-up is more of matching my mood, than altering it. Even if I put on make-up every week day to make the transition from home to work from home, it’s more of a routine than a mood change.

Really, there’s another reason to wear it? ? Yeah I know – creativity, image for work, discoloration, asymmetry, confidence, etc……but for me all those things boil down to – it makes me feel better.

Absolutely! Why else would I wear it? In drama club in high school, I learned to make mgy peers look old and went home to make my 5 yr old sister look like my grandmother. Makeup can change faces in amazing ways. For practical purposes, one can look glamorous, sweet, or very natural. A human can be made to look like a dog or cat or whatever!
It washes off and can be totally different the next adventure. IRL, I prefer a semi natural look but that never means I can’t go to extremes.
What’s not to love.

Yes, using makeup brightens my mood. I feel ready to face the day and what it brings. Now during this weird COVID times I rediscovered my love for makeup as I work from home and have more time in the mornings. Putting on makeup feels soothing and empowering at the same time: My eyeshadow game is on point, don’t mess with me!

OMG I’m so happy to find this community which shares my love for things beauty and makeup!
