What kind of colors or finishes would you like to see in future eye palettes?

I would love to see cooler-toned eyeshadows in general, along with more jewel-toned shades. I would love for brands to offer more satin-to-pearl finishes as I feel like we often have true matte and intense metallic these days but not as much in-between.

I completely agree Christine!
I am still yet to find my perfect cool toned eyeshadow palette and i’m also sick of warm toned pinks because they always pull coral-y on me. I would love a ‘smokey pale pink’ eyeshadow and maybe even a ‘smokey pale purple’. In fact, just throw me a ‘smokey’ eyeshadow palette!

I will continue to remain hopeful tho and not give in just yet.

For anyone who believes Lime Crime has sufficiently expiated past sins and wants a cool palette, the last Venus, Immortalis palette is on sale Tues March 24 at Ulta. I like it quite a bit, including Moth, the shade complained about in consumer reviews.

I can’t agree with you more! I’m a makeup lover who essentially only can wear neutral shadows to work, and I’ve haven’t bought a new palette in a long time because a) most new neutral palettes are so warm toned I will look like I have red eyes, b) like you said it’s either super matte or too glittery! I need an attractive satin in my life!

Have you looked at ABH Sultry? Some of it leans warm, but think your eyes would stay looking healthy! I find it both beautiful and super wearable.

I would personally love to see the sorts of colors and finishes that we see indie brands doing put in mainstream palettes. Especially some of those very unique multichrome type shades that flip from red to orange to purple, or teal to lime to yellow! Also, more interesting duochrome shades, too. And not to be overlooked are satins that look matte when applied, as these have a more natural looking finish to them.

Yes to more satin. More palettes based on overall coloring, and also based on different eye colors. More wet/dry formulas for all finishes (not just metallic), to increase versatility.

I would love to see more palettes featuring finishes like the Mac shiny pretty shadows. They are so pretty and they’re eye safe! I also really like finishes similar to the pressed Fenty diamond bomb and some of the glittery shades in the morphe 35i. I also wish that in neutral palettes brands would include taupe mattes and shimmers. They are really flattering (on me at least, personal preference I get it) and I feel like a lot of neutral palettes only have bronze and caramel tones. I agree with the satin/pearl finishes too, so pretty!

I need a yellow-green, pistachio green, matcha green tea green palette!!
Just in time for Easter. It can be called Freshly Cut or something.
Need a matte yellow-green, matte pistachio green, shimmery green (similar to the now-discontinued Rose All Day from ColourPop), dark olive with yellow undertones for deepening purposes. a shimmery inner corner light green, a soft matte lime, shimmery lime, dark shimmery yellow-toned olive.
Something like that. I’m just spewing nonsense. I need this palette.

The kinds of finishes I would like to see most in future eyeshadow palettes are satins, pearls, soft shimmers and some metallics. I am tired of lots and lots of matte finishes in reds/oranges and pinks.
I would also like to see more cool toned palettes as well.

I would love to see more glitter duo chrome and multi chrome finishes. I also wish see-through matte shades would trend again. I feel like intensely pigmented mattes can easily overwhelm my skin tone and face structure. Unless, they are a really good shade match for me. I think see-through, watercolor/cloud-like-mattes have the benefit of letting your natural coloring come through, which usually looks flattering. I would like to see those in pressed powder form and also really blendable cream formulas.

I am most definitely down for more satins and pearls. They are much more flattering for eyelids that are no longer creaseless and are a nice way to add a little something extra to a daytime or office look. We’ve been overwhelmed lately by brands trying to make the most metallic or glittery shadows – they’re pretty to swatch and look at, but not always the most wearable in reality.

Christine – would you consider posting a summary of some of the best-rated satin-pearl palettes and shadows?

I’d love to see more duo- and multi-chromes! I’m always down for good, blue-based purples (I know they’re hard to formulate, but it has been done).

I totally agree we need to see more cool-toned palettes and satin finishes.

Less pressed glitters, and super-flaky topper shades. I don’t hate them, but they seem to be in everything lately, and the quality isn’t always the best.
