Chanel Le Crayon Levres Longwear Lip Pencil Swatches (x14)
New for spring, Chanel Le Crayon Levres Longwear Lip Pencil ($31.00 for 0.04 oz.) includes an assortment of shades in a “non-drying formula” that delivers “full-coverage colour with a semi-matte finish” that “lasts up to eight hours.” Here are swatches of 14 shades (plus a photo of Clear, which I obviously didn’t swatch!).
Some of these are so opaque that they could even be used as super matte lipsticks or topped with a little gloss for a creamier look! Blood Orange, Rose Caractere and Rouge Cerise are the main ones I’m looking at for that purpose.
That’s exactly how I want to use a pencil from this collection. I tried them in store and they glide sooo nicely. I have no idea how it feels when they set, but they felt very promising on my hand?
Berry is on my wish list. I’ve always liked Chanel lip pencils. Looking forward to the reviews.
I have several Chanel lip pencils and love them. I like that they are mostly opaque and creamy enough to go on without a lot of tugging and last for quite a long time on my torched lips. I top them with a gloss to wear alone and they go under lipstick’s nicely. I have my eye on all of these except the lighter nude shades. I am using up the last of my UD Ozone pencil to stop feathering outside my lips and up into my lip lines and then I would like to try the clear pencil. The UD works well but it sometimes leaves a chalky looking line around my lips and frankly, I don’t know why since it is clear.
These lip pencils look quite pigmented and are, hopefully, of good value. I am not a lip pencil user myself, but the shade selection is quite varied.
Pivoine though ?
I don’t normally use lip pencils but got the peachy nude and it’s impressive. Very long lasting!
I bought Bois de Rose and Pivoine and am looking forward to more colors beyond this initial release. I’m well into my seventies and always use a lip pencil when I want a more polished look. A good pencil prevents my lipstick from feathering and gives my lips more definition. The two pencils I purchased glide on smoothly and effortlessly without any tugging or skipping. They feel emollient going on but they are not greasy and they don’t slip-slide around.
Pivoine looks like a perfect lip pencil for me. The test will be the formula. I do not like the look of heavy lip pencil although I enjoy the overall hold it lends to my lipstick. I tend to smudge lip liner so something with a super long lasting gel feel like say Marc Jacobs would not work for me.
