For the holiday season, we have Urban Decay Party Favor ($29.00), which includes small, miniature-sized Moondust Eyeshadows. Either in fall or early holiday, there were also two new, single Moondust Eyeshadows that I came across on Sephora, which I’ve also included in this set of swatches!
We're here to help you make better beauty purchases that you'll enjoy and love! We recommend signing up to take advantage of personalized features like tracking products you own, viewing dupes that you already have, and more!
Curious how two shades compare to each other? Type in the shades below to get instant side-by-side swatches!

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when
a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set
expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up
being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!
The single in Starlight is highly tempting to me because it’s both a beautiful, wearable shade, plus it’s also the title of one of my favorite Muse songs!
It’s pretty good, Nancy. The only difference in the new versus old formulations is that the newer formulation contains a silicone called “isododecane”. It evaporates over time. (A lot of brands do this – more so recently.) The logic is that you get the creaminess on application (and better payoff) without the greasiness during wear but the downside is that the shadow ends up a bit drier (considering the larger particles of glitter) after the container has been opened enough times. If it really bothers you in the end, adding a smallll drop of oil on top and rubbing it around will prepare it for the next few applications.

Or use more isododecane. It’s the main ingredient in Duraline.
Hmmm – I would say about 50-50 – half the shades are good and the other half patchy.
What a shame because I like the shades and the concept. Lovely eye look too Christine.
I don’t like how that brown shadow looks on the outer corner. Everything else in the eye look is pretty. No more eye shadows for me in 2019. Good that this isn’t a temptation.
I’m torn between being impressed that they didn’t go with the herd and this is a really unique offering at the moment and also being totally unimpressed by what it actually is. Not for me, I guess.
The shades are pretty but I feel I’ve seen them about a thousand times and it’s beginning to feel like the same colors are being offered over and over. What’s the point? Plus it turns out that glitter is killing sea creatures and scientists are calling for a ban. I did not know this when I bought the products I have. But now that I do know it, I am going to make do with what I have and avoid buying more glitter. And IMHO it really makes the gratuitous use of glitter as in the delivery of PMG products seem uncaring and gross.
I do think a small palette of neutral shimmers can be really useful. But I just think it’s kind of funny a shade called neon moon is so… not neon. Maybe I missed something there.
Seems pretty boring to me, and that’s coming from a lover of neutrals. How does one use those types of sheer/patchy shadows as toppers? On top of mattes, or shimmers? Does it just add sparkle to the look? I guess I understand lip toppers better than I do eyeshadow toppers.
Yes, it adds sparkle to anything you’d layer it over!

Same! Pretty color, love love love the song!

I got the Party Favor Palette, and it arrived today. They utterly beautiful topper shades.

I was actually gifted this by my boss. The ones that seem kind of patchy still work as toppers. I was pleasantly surprised.

Why is Neon Moon sandy beige? Kind of a misnomer.

Alison, you’ll be happy to know Urban Decay doesn’t use any plastic glitter in any of their Moondust shadows.
Nor does Pat McGrath.
Actually, I recently learned (as in this week) that Bronze Blaze in the Bronze Seduction palette contains plastic glitter.
That’s surprising!
Isn’t Pat McGrath the one who uses big chunks of glitter in her packaging, though…?

I hate how different the quality in the singles and palettes are. I’ve seen the same comparisons from the previous Moondust palette too.
