I absolutely love it, and I think it’s a product I’d actually use almost daily in a non-blogging life–just likely mixed in with my foundation! I love that you can get a dewier finish that isn’t necessarily wet nor overtly shimmery. The downside is that sometimes the applicators often dispense far too much product!

I would never use one (I barely use powder highlighter), but I love how it looks on other people, especially those wet-vibe editorial looks.
I don’t like them for me. They don’t really work well for very oily skin like mine. I do not care for the dewy look on myself. I just look more oily, so mixing with foundation is useless. They’re too subtle, and don’t have enough color variety for my tastes. I prefer my showy powder highlighters.
Liquid HLs are pretty on other people, though. Just not me.
Colored powders, AIR? Much prefer ‘non traditional’ HL and powders, hx oily, now oily/aged/dehydrated. Which red one did you wind up getting?
I got Fenty Ruby Richez for red. Yep, colored ones, of course, are my favorites. I still love purple, green, and blue HLs. 🙂
Mostly LOVE! It is something I do mix with my foundation during warmer weather, in particular. I’m going to be dewy anyway, so why not play it up in a more sophisticated, less sweaty looking way, right? It can also impart a more refined cheekbone highlight, too.
My only dislike is that *some* liquid highlighters can lift foundation. But, that’s what we have Temptalia for: to save us from buying those crappy ones!
I love it if I’m using it for a short amount of time. I think liquid is pretty forgiving of skin *issues* and I like the dewy, wet look sometimes but since I’m an oil slick, it melts off and looks sloppy very quickly on me.
I was given a sample size bottle of Cover FX liquid highlighter drops that I’ve never tried because I worry that it would be too intense for me. I’m not a big fan of highlighter to begin with, usually preferring a subtle glow-from-within look on my cheekbones when I do wear it. But maybe I should experiment with it a bit.
I like how natural Becca liquid highlighter looks when mixed with my foundation. But it has alcohol in it so it broke me out immediately for the 3 times I ever used it ?
I am trying to find one liquid highlighter without alcohol but still glows that naturally. I heard CT flawless filter is good and RMS living luminizer’s also natural looking, but haven’t made my mind yet.
I really like Nars Copacabana. It doesn’t get much hype, what with all the other HL releases, but it blends well with foundation and also sits well on the skin on top of foundation or blush 😉
But it’s delicate. You won’t get the blinding efect unless you build the coverage, but I just love it. It’s great for that glow from within look.
CT flawless filter is LOVELY and very versatile. It can be very subtle with a small amount, but can also be built a bit, and mixed with foundation/put under foundation. RMS Living Luminizer is a bit more balmy and looks lovely on the top of cheek bones. I guess it depends on how you want to use your highlight!

The experience I’ve had with liquid highlighter is that it sets up too fast. Example is/was Tarte “Pro” Highlighter (comes in a tube.) I’d put on a dot and voila the dot dried before I could even blend it.
You are spot on. I don’t dally when I use liquid highlighter. Put it on and spread it immediately for the best results.
I’ve never mixed a liquid highlighter with foundation… but I do like to tap it in with my fingers on my cheekbones right after foundation application. If I want a softer look I’ll buff it in further with a beauty blender. I don’t typically like highlight anywhere else on my face. I have dry skin, but my foundation counteracts that so I don’t feel like I need glow anywhere else (and always worry about over highlighting as is). I think powder highlighters can be easier to apply, no doubt, but the way liquid highlighters and foundations can meld together if you make sure to apply one right after the other (and don’t accidentally start setting your foundation and then go d’oh) can create a beautiful luminous look.
I actually get compliments when I wear it, even when I’ve only slept a few hours! So of course I wear it all the time, and it doesn’t even highlight my lines so I’m all in. Yes, sometimes you dispense way more than you need so you need to be conscious of how hard you push down on the dispenser, otherwise I have nothing negative to add.
I wouldn’t use one myself as I prefer a fairly matte kind of finish on my face. I agree that it would be far to easy to dispense more of the product than you need.
I think they can look beautiful when applied well.
It is one of my favorite cosmetic products. I use it as a mix in with both sheer and medium coverage foundations and as a after foundation highlighter on targeted areas. I have quite a few and you do need to experiment to see how much to use for each type of application but when you get it right it looks so natural and lit from within healthy and glowing.
Love the Cover FX highlighter drops. Got a sample from Sephora and now I own several colors. I use sparingly to highlight my cheekbones and cupid’s bow. Love the look on me
For a few months I’ve been trying to get the Perricone MD highlighter to work for me. I fall for anything promising plump firm dewy skin that glows. It’s too sheer and slick to wear over foundation and concealer. Wipes any coverage away. It makes bare skin look good and feel firm but it burns like hell near my eyes.
I was hoping there might be a liquidy highlighter that can achieve the glowy diffused effect some of the beautiful Hourglass powders do. I should’ve bought some of those instead!
I love liquid highlighter! It can be really beautiful if done right. I love that a little usually goes a long way and that it meshes with my skin so perfectly. And if you put a blush over it, *chef’s kiss*, perfection.
I do think some formulas can lift up my base, so I tend to steer toward more creamy liquid formulas as opposed to ones like the CoverFX enhancer drops, ones that dry down quickly, to avoid that problem.
Like: the shimmer quality and duration
Dislike: usually dries fast and doesn’t move
So I tend to use it with my foundation (mix in) rather than on top. Prefer cream or powder highlighter to real cheekbone highlighting.
