Do you keep track of what looks you’ve created or worn?
Yes, I do! I try to share it as a look on Temptalia shortly after doing it so I don’t have to write down what I used and where I used it, but for some smaller palettes, it’s easy enough to remember (since I used only shades from it). Otherwise, I’ll write it down on a notepad and have it on my desk ’til I do add it properly!
Only in my head, a dangerous practice at best.
I do take down some of your looks, Christine, and modify slightly for hooded eyes.
Only the noteworthy ones, whether fabulous or disastrous! I will keep a mental record of those, mentally notating what went just right as well as if something flopped. Usually this comes to me easily due to having photographic memory. As I get older and my standard memory isn’t as sharp, I’m thinking that I ought to be taking advantage of that feature on here where one can save/share Color Stories.
I might be old, but I’m not senile—at least, not yet! LOL. I have no trouble remembering what looked good and what I used to achieve the look. Since I like to keep my looks up-to-date and fresh, it’s not like I’m pulling products from a couple years ago and trying to recreate a look.
Basically I take trace of every usage of a different eyeshadow in a palette and of every lipstick. That’s because I have many lipstick and palette and I like to know which shades I use the most, moreover in that way I ensure to reach equally ti all my lip and Eye shades
In a haphazard sort of way. I usually remember looks that I was particularly happy with and then I also post a fair amount on my IG, although I haven’t posted any in awhile. I have been off the makeup application lately so nothing has been really exciting. It will come back though.
Like Wednesday, I also don’t – I think I’ll remember ones I’ve done and liked but I rarely do. Having the Colour Stories feature here is a great thing, though. I have used it a few times but need to remember to use it more often…it would make life a bit more simple!
No, I don’t – what makes an eye look successful for me is when I blend all the shades properly. That’s the key for me.
For me this is like cooking – I might use a recipe for inspiration but have to ‘make it my own’ by changing it up, and never make (or apply) anything the same way twice. Only exception to that is lipstick, which if it’s a color I love, I’ll just slap it on as is. For all that, in the end it’s all fairly subtle and I’m sure I’m the only person who notices ! It’s really about having a little play time everyday.
Wow, am I the only one who photographs looks? I just take a few (usually hideous) pictures real quick after each look for posterity. Ive yet to go back and reference any of said looks but I figure years from now I’ll have a good time doing so. See how my overall skill level has improved, etc.
