Three brands I’ve never tried: Hourglass, Sydney Grace, Bobbi Brown.
RMS beauty the buriti bronzer, Glossier’s cloud paint and boy brow, milk makeup and Ilia tinted lip moisturizer in Arabian knights
Zoeva and Kiko
I want to try more of the indie brands since I loved Sydney Grace so much. I was thinking of trying Milli Rose Beauty next. Their eye shadow palettes are calling my name. I also am looking at kaleidos Makeup. Their eye shadow palettes look a bit more original than what the big brands seem to be cranking out. Plus, I like to support the upstarts.
I’m dying to try Sydney Grace, Devinah and Clionadh products. They’re high on my list!
I’d love to try some of the Sydney Grace eye shadows, but can’t get them anywhere in Canada. I can purchase online but the shipping is a bit expensive. Also the exchange rate is pretty bad right now, so I’ll hold off for when (if!) the Canadian dollar goes up a bit. I’ve ordered Color Pop and even with their great prices, it got expensive. Hope to see Sydney Grace products in Sephora or another Canadian retailer, and I would be trying them right away!
May I suggest Igneous Cosmetics on Etsy? They are a Canadian indie. They do great pressed shadows and the owner is really sweet.
Rachel, I will “steal” your suggestion with your permission 🙂 I’ve just looked up Igneous Cosmetics and the shadows are gorgeous!
As Linda, I live in Canada as well, and I have the same issues/hesitations when ordering from the US. Many thanks for your recomendation!!
Nicole, I think you’ll love them!
Haha yeah, Sydney Grace as well for similar reasons. Either a sale or shipping rate discount will help my splurge. Also Zoeva I’ve wanted to try out for years as well for similar reason.
Also more Clionadh Cosmetics. I bought 6 pans last year at IMATS Toronto in shades of duo chrome and I’ve been craving owning tri-chrome automotive shades since they popped up in the market 2 years ago in loose form. lol
Emme Cosmetics, Give Me Glow Cosmetics, Kristen Leigh Cosmetics, Looxi Beauty, and JD Glow Cosmetics.
Ooh I forgot Em Cosmetics but I want to try their liquid lip thingy:)
Clionadh, Kaleidos, Looxi, and Devinah.
How did I forget about Kaleidos??? I’ve been literally dying to get their new teal palette!
I love Kosas!!! They make my favorite lipsticks and I also like their cream blush/highlighter duos. I look forward to hearing your thoughts!
As for me, I want to try makeup from Lemonhead LA, Sydney Grace, Alter Ego, Giorgio Armani, Róen, Clionadh Cosmetics, Ilia, Em Cosmetics, Tata Harper, and Natasha Denona…
I’m hesitant to try new skincare brands because I have very sensitive skin (and many of the trendy brands contain fragrance or potentially irritating essential oils).
Some “green/clean” beauty brands: Kjaer Weis, Rituel de Fille, Hynt Beauty, RMS, Lily Lolo, Kosas.
Sydney Grace, Fyrinnae and Devinah! Kaja and Milk, too, as the easiest ones to access!
Kaja bento box trios are very nice!
Kaleidos, Kaja, Clionadh
Linda Hallberg, Sugarpill and Sydney Grace. But that’s particularly hard in Germany.
Ofra (highlighters + liquid lips)
Sydney Grace (e/s + blushes + highlighters after seeing Christine’s reviews!)
Ellis Faas
Sugarpill
Christian Louboutin (lipstick)
By Kilian (lipstick)
Bond Nº9 (lipstick)
Chikuhodo + Hakuhodo (brushes)
Glow Recipe as well, and Pat McGrath – cant decide what I should get, any ideas?
Kaleidos has some gorgeous palettes..
Would love to try Natasha Denona…but the price…ouch
None, because no new brands was #1 guideline in my low buy. Just glad I got SG in 18, so they are exempt! I guess a fantasy three would be skincare. Sulwhasoo, Obagi, and Bader.
Sonia G brushes. Pat McGrath and Charlotte Tilbury foundation. And some of the indie brands others are excited about. Most I’ve never heard of.
Oh my gosh. I just went to the Kaleidos website. Their Aquaholic palette is exactly what I’ve been hoping to see from one of the mainstream companies. And it’s $14!!!!
I have three Kaleidos eye shadow palettes and love them all. I have no issues. They are pigmented, blend well and they have great shades. They are made in PRC but I don’t have a problem with that so wasn’t an issue for me.

Sydney Grace
Coloured Raine
Dose of Colours
Plus a few of the ones suggested above….
With the amount of makeup I already own, have yet to get through, and likely will not finish in my lifetime, nothing immediately comes to mind lol. Maybe Smith or other really nice brushes?
Melt Cosmetics (Impulsive palette) and Ace Beaute (Oceanic palette). Both are on my birthday list. I will try Charlotte Tilbury Hot Lips sometime-I just have to wait for Sephora to email me that my favorite shade, Viva La Vergara, is back in stock (I just saw VLV in the most recent issue of O magazine, so I suspect that the Oprah effect is why it’s currently sold out).
Uoma! It’s a new brand carried at Ulta. I’ve seen a couple YTers use it and they love it and I’m just excited to see another line for a wide variety of skin tones. I picked up the lipstick in the color Maya (because that’s my daughter’s name. I had to!) and I adore it. It’s so pigmented and matte but comfortable. They’ve got a couple e/s palettes that have really great color stories.
More Sydney Grace and Surratt. I am really wanting to try the new Surratt foundation but since it is low coverage, I am fearful of trying. I absolutely love the finish though. Also, no Surratt counter within 8 hours of me so would have to be an on-line purchase and I hate ordering foundations on-line. It is hard enough to get a shade match when you are right there at the counter. Michelle Wang did a review of it and it was just stunning on her skin. Being Surratt it isn’t cheap which is another concern.
This is totally besides the point of this question, but… ? It annoys me sooooooo much that the founders of Kosas (I believe they are American) have stylised the brand name as Kosås, because the letter ‘å’ (in Swedish) is actually pronounced as ‘o’. The literal translation for the letter in Finnish (I’m Finnish) is ‘a Swedish o’. Our official languages are Finnish and Swedish btw.
Sorry for the rant, but this has been bugging me for a long time ?
Give Me Glow Cosmetics, Kaleidos Makeup, Milk Makeup, Dose of Colors, Clionadh, Midas Cosmetics, Lunatick Cosmetics, Menagerie Cosmetics, MUG, Ace Beatue, Alien Cosmetics and Fyrinnae Makeup.
I LOVE my foundation from Kosas. Picked it up during the sale and while it doesn’t offer much coverage, it looks like real skin, doesn’t dry my face out, and the color match is spot on. Granted, I have an allergy to silicones so that really limits the amount of foundations I can try out…so I can see why others might find it too pricey for an oily, sheer-to-medium foundation.
I’d like to try more from Kosas, Black Moon Cosmetics, Rituel de Fille and not too many others are on my list.
*Kaledos
*Em Cosmetics
*Nabla
*Uoma
*Zoeva
*Linda Halberg
I may try Zoeva/Nabla now they are at Ulta but I do not buy brands internationally so for now Linda, Clionadh and Devinah are not on my radar ?
