Two big days for me will be 9/2 and 9/21. I’m in dire need of a new Foreo Luna Play, plus I want to get Ofra Covent Garden and a backup of UD 24/7 in Corrupt, also a purple shade.
I hope the ofra highlighter sale includes soho because that one looks the most interesting
Regarding the OFRA highlighters, I wonder if the sale on 9/2 doesn’t apply to the split shade ones. I notice the sales insert I got specifically states “OFRA Highlighters Single Pan” and the two photos are of single shade pans.
Ulta has all of the pages linked, so if you click on OFRA highlighters from the 21 Days page, it takes you to this page, which shows Retrograde 🙂
I know that this will shock some of you but I have never shopped Ulta’s 21 days of Beauty mainly because I would have to do so online and never really got how this could be cost effective for Ulta having people order something on three or four different days and them having to pay the postage, (in my case free since I am a Platinum member but for others that could be a lot of money/ Plus my getting it free means Ulta is picking up the tab and that eventually gets passed back to the consumer.). Maybe I am missing something here and if I am, please enlighten me!!! I will have to bookmark the page so that I can refer back to it through the month. I also think this is the first time I have taken the time to look at each day and see what is offered and find several things I might want to pick up. Never too old to learn something new!
The margins in beauty can be quite high, and then Ulta does it as a way to drive traffic to their site – they are likely hoping you’ll buy other things you’ve been waiting on!
I’m with Christine — these are “loss leaders” (I’d put shipping costs under the same umbrella). Ulta’s prices don’t average lower for the rest of the year; said another way, they don’t average higher around or after sales to “make up for” the extra shipping, etc. The prices are the prices, whether they have these “21 Days …” sales or not. If you go to brand websites and compare prices for items that are not on sale, the item prices aren’t higher at Ulta, so Ulta isn’t cranking up prices to make up for their marketing choices.
I don’t think I’ve shopped it either, but that’s because I’ve never seen any of the items on my “need” or “wish” lists on sale during this time. Or maybe I’ve seen them once or twice, but wasn’t ready at that time (for one reason or another), to purchase. A “general percentage of most products” type sale is a lot more useful to me than this “21 Days …” thing.
I had little success with my one time Ulta purchase, but I am tempted to have another go at a purchase with the Ofra highlighters.
