- Haul/Rediscoveries: Lancome summer lipsticks, bareMinerals highlighters/bronzers
- Weekend plans: The exterior of the house is getting painted, so we’ll feel oddly housebound (even though we are total homebodies!) when they have everything all taped up, LOL!
- What’s your morning routine like?: I wake up between 6-7AM usually, and I’ll check all my social channels and for emails first thing. If there are no fires, then I take a shower, feed Mellan, make my latte, let Mellan out to do his business, and then either head to my desk or take photos (I like doing them first thing so I have a chance to import + edit before the day is over).

Haul: L’Oreal Infallible 24 Hr Fresh Wear Foundation
Rediscoveries: Stila Mystere liquid eyeshadows (been using them a ton lately, they’re so pretty!)
Weekend plans: My mom, brother and brother-in-law are coming into town to visit!
What’s your morning routine like?: Roll out of bed at 5am, brush teeth, put on make up, do hair, get dressed, make coffee and a small breakfast, spend the next hour convincing a toddler to get ready to go to daycare, then head to work.
Haul:
Dior Rouge Blush in Hologlam: I was so excited to get this particular blush but must admit it was a disappointment for me. I guess my skin tone is wrong (medium warm) because the blush does not show up on my skin at all. I have tried all my blush brushes, tried it on bare skin and on top of foundation, and I am completely at a loss. Today I used my strongest blush brush (Tom Ford, this brush is almost frightening in how much color it can pick up and deposit), and just kept layering and layering and layering. Of course I am getting some pretty holographic glitter but it’s a dry glitter. Actually the entire product is quite dry and this is the first blush I’ve tried that makes my skin look dry when I apply it. I don’t know if Dior made several batches and I got a bad batch, but this blush simply had to go back.
Natasha Denona Bloom Palette: Dior dashed my hopes and Natasha Denona restored them, lol. This palette is GORGEOUS. I had to watch a video to see how to layer the four products but it was totally worth it when I saw the end result. The choice to pair raspberry cream blush with peach was GENIOUS. Natasha could have kept all the colors homogeneous but instead she put together shades that are surprisingly complementary and fresh. I’ve never had such a beautiful shine as I got by layering the highlighter on top of the highlight cream base. Even better, at the 12 hour mark these looked just as good as they did in the morning, even following an hour of heart-pounding cardio. I was the diva of the gym ?.
Rediscovery: A couple years ago I wore a sample of Nest’s Dahlia and Vines fragrance to work and after receiving compliments from a coworker, I purchased a bottle. This fragrance isn’t really my type of fragrance: It’s wet and dewy, smelling of vines and daffodils, a little sweet. Whenever I think of Dahlia and Vines, I am reminded of a rainy, wet, chilly spring morning, and I have an image of ferns dripping with rain drops in my mind. I haven’t picked up the bottle in a while and actually considered detashing this fragrance last month. But suddenly this week I had an overwhelming craving to wear and smell Dahlia and Vines. I can’t get enough of this odd (for me) fragrance right now. I’ve been wearing it all week and now I want the body cream.
Speaking of fragrances, I have a deluxe size of Jo Malone’s French Lime Blossom (it came in one of those Nordstrom sets where they have five small bottles). I’m neutral on this fragrance but I wear it (and the others) as bedtime fragrances because they are so soft. Well, my husband took one whiff and exclaimed, “What are you wearing??? That smells so good!” He thinks it smells like lilacs ?
It’s the Sephora Rouge event and I’ve placed three orders already today. Goodies are coming!
Weekend: Reading, gyming, cooking, listening to the EXPLOSION of new alternative rock music (Karen O, Aldous Harding, Jenny Lewis, Beck, Nilufer Yanya, Adia Victoria, Vampire Weekend, OMG, so much good music). Still reading Lincoln in the Bardo, I am definitely loving this book, so much so that I keep it with me everywhere I go, in case I get a chance to read a couple more pages. I’d like to watch Can You Ever Forgive Me and start Killing Eve. Last weekend we cleaned all our floors and windows. Maybe this weekend I can start decluttering the closets.
Morning routine: Menopause wants me up by 3:30 every morning, so I spend the first 1.5 hours of my day trying to fall back asleep, usually unsuccessful my. I always drink 12 ounces of water and brush my teeth immediately after rising. Them I get my phone hooked up to my bathroom speaker and either put on an alternative rock station (XMU is my station of choice), blog radio, or one of my favorite podcasts. Then it’s washing my face, skin care, hair and makeup. My husband brings me coffee and prepares my breakfast and packs my lunch while I get ready for work. He likes to look at my makeup looks and comments on what he likes. Then I head out to one of the eight medical clinics where I provide counseling and behavioral health consulting services to patients in their PCP’s office.
Oh my goodness, I feel your pain with the crazy menopause early waking, Tammy! It’s was absolutely maddening when I was going through it myself. Evening Primrose Oil and Tension Tamer Tea (I forget whether it’s Bigalow or that other major tea brand that makes it, but I went through dozens of boxes of that stuff!) helped me with that to some extent. Human grade catnip tea does wonders when used with Valerian as a before bedtime tea!
Thank you, Nancy, I will have to check into those supplements. I do take Evening Primrose Oil and a calming supplement. I take calcium and magnesium before bed too.
Good times
….oooh, I know and HATE that waking up between 2:30 and 3:30 and not being able to fall back to sleep til it’s almost time to get up for the day! I wish I could just sleep a solid night without waking because of pain (my hip, my knee) or because of the “age” (ahem, cough, cough) thing!
Haul: Nothing yet but I’m going to Sephora for the Rouge sale later today, and my partner wants to go to Lush.
Discovery: I wore one of the Lit metallic pigments that I picked up at IMATS and I really loved how it looked!
Weekend plans: OMG it’s a big exciting one! Tonight’s shopping (and we’ll also try the Turkish cafe that opened in the mall). Tomorrow is Independent Bookstore Day and we made a list of half a dozen local bookstores to visit, a mix of old favorites and new-to-us stores (including a cookbook store where I expect my partner will find a few things and maybe I will find some books on tea?). Sunday we are signing the papers for the house we’re going to rent (YAY) and seeing Avengers: Endgame.
Morning routine: Wake up at or before 7am. Read a bit in bed. Get up, make tea and breakfast, sit down at my desk and start work at 8am. I love not having a commute 🙂 On the weekend, I usually still wake up at around the same time but my partner and I snuggle in bed, and then when we get up, if we don’t have morning plans, we enjoy our tea and read together. Sometimes we go out for doughnuts.
My weekend plans: I have to work all weekend darn it!
My latest obsession: after happening to walk by an Estée Lauder counter, the Heat Wave highlighter caught my eye so I searched it. OMG now I finally understand why people rave over it! It’s in my top 5, along with Amrezy and Ofra highlighters. Next I would really like to try some of the ABH loose highlighters from their most recent release
Haul/Rediscoveries: Nothing new this week in my routine and no purchases (yet). But I’m still deciding on making an Sephora order for a couple of The Ordinary products (the hair serum and squalane oil)… it’s out of the sale, but there a mini Drunk Elephant cleanser code for a $25 purchase… it’s more valuable than 15% off on two The Ordinary products. 😆
Weekend plans: Time outdoors and a museum visit! I would also need a hair trim… but I hate having to make time to go to the salon.
What’s your morning routine like?: During the workweek I wake about between 7-8 AM, wash my face, apply my skincare routine, drink two cups of water, do my make-up, dress, pack my meals and snacks for the day, and go to work. Weekends are different almost each time… I might go for a run in the morning, or go shopping, or hiking, or visit a museum… I personally just hit the ground running, I love being out of the house as soon as possible in the morning and start being productive; it’s the evenings where I chill more, check social media, etc.
Haul: Melt Smoke Sessions palette.
From Sephora’s 20% off sale: Kaja Cushy Vibe High-Pigment Lip Stain in Silk Robe, Plush, and Satin Sheets. Kaja Beauty Bento Bouncy Shimmer Eyeshadow Trio in Rosewater. Kaja 2’s Company Nude Lipstick & Liner Duo in Daybreak. Kaja Mochi Pop Bouncy Blush in Atmosphere. Tatcha Pure One Step Camellia Oil Cleanser. Sand & Sky Australian Pink Clay Porefining Face Mask. Dr. Jart+ Focuspot Micro Tip Patches for Blemishes. Farsali Skintune Blur Perfecting Primer Serum. Sephora Collection #15 and #25 brushes. Origins Hello, Calm Relaxing & Hydrating Face Mask
Weekend Plans: working tonight. Saturday, hopefully, I can get to the studio and I’m fairly certain I’m watching my nephew so my sister can go and visit her mother in law in the hospital. Sunday, my friends and I are going to see the latest Avengers movie and then I’m heading to a friend’s house to watch Game of Thrones.
What’s Your Morning Routine Like: it generally involves a lot of sleepy stumbling, moving my cat out of the way, a shower, face routine, taking my morning meds, packing a bag for the studio and the gym, packing some snacks for work, and a lot of staring at my phone in confusion b/c I’m trying to figure out why one of my sister’s decided to text me at 3am knowing I would be sleep, lol.
How do you like the Smoke Sessions palette Jessica? I am thinking of purchasing that one myself.
I really like it. I played around with it today and managed to use all 8 of the shades and overall it’s a really nice and cohesive palette. You may have to pull in a blending shade here or there, but the two mattes that they chose compliment the shimmers. Some of the shimmers need a bit more work, ie a damp brush or finger, but it’s really worth it bc they’re so metallic. IMO it’s much prettier in person than in photos. I didn’t think I’d have any interest in Blue Dream or Sweet Tooth for anything other then inner corner highlight colors, but they’re so pretty and unique and look gorgeous all over the lid. I recommend it and Christine’s review is spot on. I don’t think you would be disappointed.
Thank you Jessica for your assessment of this palette. It is so beautiful.
I wish my lashes were as full as Mellan’s!
Haul: The no-buy continues. Special thanks to Christine, who helped talk some sense into me when I almost caved in to Sephora’s Rouge sale!
Rediscoveries: Smashbox Vlada Petal Metal collection. I bought the highlighters and eye palette when they came out and then never used them. I decided to try them again this morning and although I normally don’t like pink, peachy shades on my eyes, I was pleased with the look I achieved. It made my green eyes look even more green.
Weekend Plans: Family gathering for sibling’s birthday, pedicure
Morning Routine: (mon-fri) Hit snooze alarm a few times, then finally force myself to get up by 6:30 AM at the latest. Wash face; brush teeth; shower; shampoo/blow dry hair every 2-3 days, otherwise just run a brush through it; spend 30 minutes on makeup; drive to work. Weekends depend on what’s happening that day.
Haul/Rediscoveries: Copper Moon Apothecary Almond & Aloe Facial Moisturizer SPF 15+. I’ve been slacking on sunscreen, so I’m trying out a new all-in-one.
Weekend plans: Managing my long distance relationship with a “work-separate” weekend where we do a productivity mad dash of work and errands XD
What’s your morning routine like?: Recently I wake up and reply to messages from pacific time zones, then read NYT headlines or listen to NPR morning updates. Sometimes I do a short mindfulness meditation. I uninstalled social media apps and am trying to spend less time looking at social media, especially when I’m at home.
This week I rediscovered NYC Retro Red. The tube I have hasn’t gone bad yet, but I am afraid that it will before I get to use it much more. It really is a lovely lipstick! I hauled CT Amazing Grace lipstick and MUFE gold liquid liner from the Sephora sale and I am super stoked to get them.
My morning routine can vary a lot, but I definitely set aside at least half an hour for hair and makeup, though ideally I’d like about 45 minutes for both. I also like to give myself about half an hour to just wake up, so during that time I check email and stuff like that. I wish I could be one of those people that has a nice, relaxing, Insta-worthy morning, but I am too much of a procrastinator for that, honestly.
He really does look very cuddles inducing! ?
Haul: Nothing…..yet. I’m waiting to do my Rouge damage on Monday. ?
Weekend plans: Just the basics. Hair, nails, meeting on Sunday. Also trying to get through this weekend in one piece, as my Remicade infusion got held up again, and I’m having some pretty bad Crohn’s symptoms while waiting for my infusion on Monday.
Morning routine? Once I’m awake, I get up and make my bed, feed my 2 cats (they are more effective at getting me out of bed than my alarm!), make myself my morning mug of coffee, check emails and text messages, go on Facebook for a little bit, then go onto Temptalia (unless I have an early appointment or Sunday meeting), eat breakfast (sometimes on the run!), shower and through myself together for the day.
*throw, not through. Oy vey!
Crohn’s is such a disabling disease and I hope your symptons settle down when you get your infusion on Monday. It’s too bad that the treatment got held up because the ramifications for you are awful. Best wishes for the weekend Nancy.
It is a fairly messed up situation, Genevieve, as this delay will have me receiving my infusion 9 days late. I did find out why they’re having an issue, though. Got to speak with the usual scheduler, she told me that one of their RN’s transferred out of the Infusion Dept., and another went on vacation, so they are short staffed. Understandable, but so many patients are being impacted by this situation, including those with worse dx’s than mine.
I guess it’s the same in every country – not enough medical staff (trained) to cover holidays, transfers and illnesses. I hope it all works out well for you – 9 days late is a significant time and would really impact on you.
Haul: From the drugstore, Cover Girl It’s Lit, which I am hoping will be a dupe of YSL Touché Éclat. I went to Sephora this morning (store and online) for the sale and I am proud to say that I stuck to my list—replacements for Amika The Kure shampoo, Olaplex 3, and Murad Nutrient Charged Water Gel moisturizer, Olaplex 6 leave in frizz control treatment, because I have no similar product now, and MJ gel eyeliner pencils in dark brown and light blue.
Weekend plans: Nothing special. The usual chores. I pulled out my summer clothes and need to sort through them.
My morning routine: Set by my Siamese cat, Walter. He starts to meow in my ear incessantly somewhere between 6 and 6:30 even if my husband has already risen and fed him. I follow Walter to the kitchen and put some fish oil on his food, which sometimes calms him and sometimes doesn’t. I make coffee, brush my teeth, and then sit down with the newspaper for awhile. Then I check emails. Then shower, makeup, and clothes before leaving for whatever i have on for the day. More coffee and some breakfast are in there somewhere.
Haul: Touch in Sol Sparkling Foiled Pigment in Holo Mulberry, and a product that I can’t remember the name of, for my daughter. It is the equivalent of the acne dots I usually buy her from Dream Dots.
Weekend plans: Getting some things accomplished before my daughter leaves for her summer job in Glacier National Park. She is helping me with a few housekeeping issues that I can’t handle myself like moving a couple of big cabinets. Nothing special.
Morning Routine: My morning routine should be named “afternoon routine” as it is closer to noon than morning when I get out of bed. What can I say, I am a night owl after working graveyard shift for so many years. I wash my face, do my skin care, apply any makeup I might be going to wear. Some days I don’t apply makeup and will just do skin care and SPF. I then dress and makeup my bed, etc. I change out the cats water, clean her litter box and give her fresh food. I check my blood sugar and administer my insulin. Breakfast is usually cold cereal with a little fruit. Those are the things I have to do. Anything else depends on my plans for the day. If no big plans I end up doing mixed media or scrapbooking. During the summer months, my routine usually involves doing things that can’t be done during winter. This year the big project is painting my house. Haven’t figured out who is doing it or what colour yet.
Choosing paint shades for your house is a tough job because you want to get it right – are you painting the inside or the outside Deborah?
It’s great that your daughter helps you with the summer jobs and I hope that your weather is a little warmer now. What work does your daughter do at the Glacier National Park?
Hi Genevieve,
I am painting the outside. I am leaning towards a medium shade of grey with white trim. Currently it is a shade of what I would call celery green. I love the colour green but I think it is a hard one to get right on the outside of a house. I have never loved the colour since I purchased the house but now it needs painting so can’t put off making a decision any longer.
My daughter will be working the front desk of a hotel in the park. It is a summer job that runs from the first week in May until the third week in September when the park hotels close. They pay for her room, board and salary so she basically gets to bank everything she makes. It has worked well for me since she has been here during the winter to help but I still would like her to move to a bigger city where she can actually use her degree and begin her life. She is scared to leave me for fear something will happen when she isn’t around. I think it is the curse of an only child. I just keep hoping something comes along that she really wants to do and it is tempting enough to get her out of here. She would really love to do something in media with computers, website or something along those lines. Time will tell.
I love that shade you have chosen – grey with white is so pretty. And I agree with you about greens: very hard to work as an outdoor colour. I do love a pale sage for inside, but that too is tricky to get right.
That’s a great job your daughter has and it is a problem here too in Aus where people don’t get to work in the field they have done their degrees in – especially as they are so expensive to get.
I understand her concerns re working far away from you. My husband was an only child and I have only a twin sister. My dad died when I was 13, so it was just our mum and us.
My husband and I moved to the other side of town ( for post grad purposes for me) and that was tricky, but we always saw both sets of parents during the weekend, which was a lot of driving (no freeways then).
It’s definitely a conundrum.
Haul: As I’d planned, at Sephora I got Youth To The People Maqui facial oil (I’m half way through my first bottle and love this stuff) and IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye and Bye Bye Redness but the names and colour selection of both items has changed from when I’d last purchased them and I am really not sure of the colours I got so I’m hanging onto my receipt because, as much as I loathe returning anything, the lighting in Sephora is so dreadful I honestly couldn’t tell (and I had my originals with me to try to compare but everything looked the same colour!) I also bought a bottle of the Youth To The People Kale cleanser and then, at Saje I purchased another bottle of Daydream Diffuser Essential Oil Blend…this has become my favourite of all their oils. And I qualified for a free roller-ball so got one that smelled really nice but is meant for women much younger than I to deal with PMS. It’s called Moon Cycle; I just liked the scent!
Weekend plans: my out of town friend is coming to stay so we’ll be shopping for fabric and going out for Ethiopian food on Saturday and for brunch on Sunday. I plan to hit the gym tomorrow morning before she gets here and I have to take my car to switch off the winter tires. My husband is competing in the Paris to Ancaster bike race but that’s going to be while friend and I are out for brunch.
Morning routine: on work days, I waken early (bet. 5 and 5:30) because I don’t like to rush. By the time I get downstairs, hubs has made the coffee. I eat breakfast, drink coffee while checking out my usual sites then go up to get washed and do my makeup (I shower at night rather than in the morning), get dressed and head out the door by 7:45-ish to be at school before 8 am. Weekends, there really isn’t much of a routine except for the gym on Saturday mornings.
Ethiopian food sounds really nice… I am an evening shower person too and I used to like being at school before 7.30 to complete my day’s preparations and go over my lesson plans.
I hope your husband does well on his bike race – I just looked up the website and it seems like a challenging route.
Enjoy your weekend Mariella.

Nice haul!
Thanks, Tammy!
Look at Mellin, snuggling in! What a cutie.
Haul: Nothing much this week
Rediscoveries: I have been using my Naked 1 palette a lot this week and it is a reminder of what a sterling palette this one is.
Weekend Plans: Fortunately all the sickies are better now and feeling well. There is a lot of gastro going around our area and I think it’s because it hasn’t rained for so long to wash the bugs away.
Friday — Lachlan came over today and he is such a sweetie. Very much into Bob the Builder and we got out the Duplo tubs for him to play and make up different things. It was our first real very cold day, with a bit of rain.
Saturday – just shopping and making soups – I am going to make a Minestrone and Vegetable soup for the week.
Sunday – our belated Easter lunch, but we have decided to go to a restaurant down on the coast, next to a light aircraft airport, so the kids can see the planes taking off and landing. So much easier for me than all the cooking and cleaning up after.
I also meant to add my morning routine:
Wakeup at around 8 ish, cup of tea and read a book for half an hour or so. Get dressed and get the coffees for our morning. Whilst having my coffee, I always read this blog.
Usually after that, I clean up the kitchen, start the washing machine and be ready for the day
I’m glad it’s cooling down for you finally Genevieve. There was a snowfall warning for Calgary today. We headed to the L.A. Coast after spending a few days in Vegas. We will head back home after the weekend and hopefully the snow they have got up in Canada will be history by the time we get there. I hope you have a nice belated Easter lunch.
We had a great lunch, thank you Brenda and the weather has been perfectly cool and crisp – so nice.
I do hope the snowstorm is well and truly over by the time you reach Calgary.
The LA coast line is supposed to be beautiful and scenic, so I am sure you will enjoy it. I love coastal drives myself.
Hauls/Discoveries:
Urban Decay Brushes- Trying some new ones, I love these brushes Too Much, tightline, precise eyeliner (we’ll see, never have found a good eyeliner brush for MAC LiquidLast, any suggestions??), concealer, beloved smudgers, a second big domed foundation brush. I love this brush so much, sometimes I just keep wiping it off and do my whole face with it!(not eyes, lol) Anyone else tried these Urban Decay Pro brushes? I’m crazy about them. They are overtaking my carefully built over a decade MAC brush collection, as a synthetic compliment, not a replacement. Christine, I would love to see an article about the rise of synthetic brushes and how you feel that has driven a change in makeup formulas, if at all.(with demonstrative photos and swatches?) I feel it may be co-existent with the rise in silicone rich formulas or other “powder to cream, cream to powder” type formulas possibly.
Urban Decay Light Beam and Beached palettes, Disco Queen powder, Sin Highlighter Powder
Clinique PopOnTheGlow Palette, Pep Start Eye Cream
Laura Mercier and YSL lipsticks
F.A.B. Skincare- Love them, I am allergic to perfume.
Pat McGrath Highlighting Trio- This is the big deal! OMG, how beautiful is this??? What?!?!?!
Stila Glitter Liquid Eyeshadow back-ups- Sea Siren and another one I love
It was my birthday and there was a lot of giftcarding, left some for this Sephora sale!
Discoveries: NARS Villa Lante Lip Pencil, searching around for all the bright summer lipsticks, really beautiful light pink.
Weekend Plans: Go to my lil bro’s play with my mom and as much of my other family as I can scare up, inshallah. Of course, while well moisturized and highlighted as well as the stage, I am going to wear so much makeup that I have trouble holding the weight of my head up, yes God!!
Holding my baby nephew and seeing the funny look in his eyes as he continues to learn that the same person can have differently colored lips and eye decorations every time you see them. He is really impressed by bright, dramatic, shiny eyeshadow looks, lol.
Morning routine: my boyfriend works late mid-shift and I am battling back from Endometriosis surgery, sooo, wake up at 2pm, take meds, look at social media, the news, Temptalia, text messages, etc. Wrangle with the French press, reunite with my vape like a long lost lover, drink a bunch of fruit juice, see what my responsibilities are to the day, prepare for those or fool around cleaning the house or go to my lil brothers’ house.
I went to tj maxx last night and found a highlighter palette from MAC and bought a few too faced lipstick glosses from the peach line for 6.99. makeup purchases will be slowed down just a bit because I’m focusing on my youngest son’s graduation from high school, and putting a lot of money into the party for him. No real weekend plans due to having to work this weekend. I work 12 hour shifts from 7pm-7am so my “morning routine” isn’t really a thing (I’m a nurse in a locked psych unit for women). I usually fall asleep around 10 am and I’m up by 330 or 4pm to start my day. I do my makeup, watch some YouTube, and leave for work around 6pm because the commute can be insane.
HAUL:
*Real Her Shadow Palette III and Shadow Palette V. Michele/Binxcat showed them on her Facebook a while back, and I loved the plummy colors (and reasonable prices).
*Tarteist Pro Glow & Blush Cheek Palette.
*MAC Lipglass in Pretty Peppa and Lipstick in S’sexy. *Lime Crime Softwear Blush in Virtual Orchid and Megabyte (a lime green highlighter more than a blush).
*LAST WEEK — I got a bunch of NYX Cosmic Metals Lip Creams on Clearance. Also, I’ve been having really dry, but still oily, cheeks, and that may be permanent (I’ve officially hit menopause, which has also kicked off health issues; I find out more Monday). I got some different hydrating primers, as my NYX Angel Veil is not working as well for me. Smashbox Photo Primer has been great, but I wanted to try some DS products. I got e.l.f. Hydrating Face Primer and Wet n Wild Photo Focus Coconut 3-in-1 Primer Water. I’m open to suggesting for other ones to try.
WEEKEND PLANS: We ended up seeing “Avengers: Endgame,” which I wasn’t expecting to do till later in the week.
WHAT’S YOUR MORNING ROUTINE LIKE?: Weekdays — I’m a severe insomniac, so I usually I get up late morning or early afternoon. I get dressed first. If I don’t have to be at an appointment, I drink some tea, take my morning medications, and put on my makeup. Then I check e-mail, and read Temptalia.
Hauls: Got a few short sleeved sweaters from Banana Republic to add into the wardrobe. I have a few things on my Nordstrom wish list, but I’m holding those for the upcoming beauty/points event.
Sephora Sale: Dr. Dennis Gross Clinical Grade Resurfacing Liquid Peel, travel size Sol de Janeiro 4 Play body wash for a trip I have coming up, small Beauty Blender liquid cleanser, AmorePacific Treatment Enzyme Peeling Masque, Tom Ford eyeshadow quads in Body Heat and Double Indemnity and Shiseido Lash and Brow Serum.
Chantecaille: I did a pre-order for the new x de Guernay highlighter
Weekend Plans: Last night was a celebratory dinner with the better half for my new job and today was a cut and color day. I was in need of both, but now my hair is nice and refreshed for when I start the new gig. Beyond that I did a little shopping in store and then did an online order with Sephora for the things I couldn’t get in person. Otherwise I’ll just be relaxing at home.
Morning Routine: it depends on the day and if I’m working in the office or remotely. Overall, I wake up and do my morning skincare routine and decide if I need to do a blow-out or not, get dressed make coffee and either set out on my commute or sit myself in front of the laptop and start working.
Haul/Rediscoveries: None.
Weekend plans: I was out of town yesterday and I worked all day today-I’m writing this in front of a Law & Order: SVU marathon. Tomorrow will probably be laundry, and I’ll try to relax.
What’s your morning routine like?: There are two mornings a week where I have to wake up at 7:30 for my early shift at work-otherwise I try to wake up somewhere between 10 and noon (I don’t always succeed at this on my days off). When I get up I eat breakfast, get dressed, and do makeup if I feel like it (no shower-I do those late, either at night the night before a work day or in the afternoon on a day off, so I have time to mold my wet hair into the texture I’m trying to get).
Haul/Rediscoveries: MELT Smoke Sessions, Sugarpill Swipe Left gloss, a new Bum Bum shower gel, a Smashbox liquid liner, Shiesedo cotton pads, UD Perversion, Armani Luminous Silk in 2, and Vanilla Insensee perfume!
Weekend plans: Worked today, going to see Endgame tomorrow.
What’s your morning routine like?: Wash my face, hit myself up with a moisturizer and then brush my hair. Work is all consuming, I should do more.
Aveda: lipsticks in Mulberry and Chili; lip pencil in pomegranate, and travel size Phomollient styling foam (HG, use every day).
Shoppers BB (20% off + $20 gift certificate): Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Blush No 20 (the perfect bronzer shade for me), Highlighting Powder in White Opal, and Rouge Coco Flash in Live.
Pre-Ordered from Chanel’s Les Beiges and Cruise Collections, both launching in Canada on May 3 at Shoppers Beauty Boutiques. Saw the same date for the Cruise Collection in the US on Karen’s Makeup and Beauty Blog
Weekend Plans: Home for a week, so spending time with friends and family and visiting favourite haunts.
Morning Routine: Grabbing a coffee and visiting with my spouse before he leaves for work. Scan email, social media, etc., then get down to work. Pause to eat something healthy mid-morning, Limit my social media time until later in the day to keep me focused on the days’ priories.
Also hauled from Chanel direct, Chanel Les Beiges Eau de Teint/ Water-Fresh Tint and the Tissage blush in Beige. Gorgeous pieces!
