Guerlain Terracotta Collection for Spring/Summer 2013

The ultimate cult bronzing powder, one Terracotta product is sold somewhere in the world every 20 seconds. The sheer magic of this legendary make-up line is its ability to duplicate the illusion of sun on skin with an astoundingly natural-looking glow. Often imitated but never equalled, its secret formula strikes a subtle balance between color and transparency, creating a flawless natural look that lasts all day.

Terracotta 4 Seasons Bronzing Powder ($75.00)

The Terracotta 4 Seasons Bronzing Powder allows women to create a tailor-made palette for each season. Each powder contains 4 shades, which can be mixed and blended to create natural looking color for all times of the year. To enhance the 4 Seasons experience, Guerlain has added 4 new harmonies of coordinated shades to better accommodate women’s varying complexions. With a total of 6 shades to boast, Guerlain ensures that all women, fair or dark, can indulge in the pleasure of a Terracotta glow.

  • 00 Nude
  • 02 Natural Blondes
  • 03 Natural Brunettes
  • 04 Medium Blondes (formerly shade 01 Blondes)
  • 05 Medium Brunettes (formerly shade 02 Brunettes)
  • 08 Ebony

Terracotta Skin ($51.00)

Delivering the corrective coverage of a foundation with the sheerness of a powder, Terracotta Skin allows for a flawless complexion in one step. The silky, lightweight cream powder is composed of soft-focus elastic particles which reflect light in all directions making enlarged pores, fine lines and other imperfections less noticeable. Apply one dab of this sheer, velvety foundation and smooth it over your entire face. The result is unified, corrected skin enhanced with a healthy glow.

  • 01 Nude (new)
  • 02 Blonde
  • 03 Brunette

Terracotta Sun Scrub ($65.00)

This luscious exfoliator is the perfect accessory to an even, long-lasting tan. Effective for all stages of tanning, the Terracotta Sun Scrub not only prepares skin for tanning but helps it retain its sun-kissed look longer. The secret to its success lies in the formula, comprised of 3 different particles. Upon contact with water, the 3 particles transform the oil-based gel into a body milk which work to remove dead cells, massaging the skin and leaving it satin-smooth and radiant, the perfect conditions for tanning. Once the skin is sun-kissed, the Terracotta Sun Scrub works to enhance your tan by increasing its intensity and luminosity.

Terracotta Sunless Self-Tanning Gel ($52.00)

Remarkable for its ultra-penetrating texture, this two-in-one tinted gel provides a double action: it offers the illusion of an instant tan and moisturized, evened-out skin. Using a subtle concentration of DHA and organic Argan oil, the Terracotta Sunless Self-Tanning Gel simply needs to be smoothed over the body—the only evidence of a sun-kissed illusion is the bottle! Best of all, the Terracotta Sunless Self-Tanning Gel is visible after only 1 hour, but lasts up to 4 days.

Terracotta Jambes de Gazelle ($59.00)

Lightly scented with the fragrance of tiare flower, this tinted spray mist refreshes the legs and leaves them feeling cooled and relaxed. Drying instantly, Jambes de Gazelle provides beautiful legs without any risk of clothing stain or product transfer, yet washes off with soap and water.

Terracotta Sun Serum ($59.00)

The resounding success of Sun Serum has inspired a new bottle, the design inspired by Guerlain’s classic Coconut Oil Soap. The bottle will also be fitted with a metalized brown dropper to ensure the amounts dispersed are exactly as needed. This remarkable serum is your loyal ally in acquiring, deepening and prolonging a tan. Adding a few drops of this honey-coloured serum to your normal skincare product will instantly transform it into a tan booster, fifteen times higher than that of other tan boosters. In the palm of your hand, blend 2 drops with your normal skincare product (or 4 drops in your body care product) and apply. That’s all there is to it! Day by day, you will gradually acquire a lovely, long-lasting healthy glow.

Availability: Guerlain’s Terracotta collection is available beginning March 2013 at select locations of Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Sephora, Bloomingdales and Bergdorf Goodman.

Okay, I love Guerlain’s products, but I really dislike this promo image, and I can’t put my finger on why. She looks fake baked to me – obviously so. Maybe her skin tone really is that tan, but if that’s so, the photoshop is making it look unnatural to me.

This makes me excited for summer!

I’m going to get Terracotta Skin in 01 Nude for sure. I bought it before in 02 Blonde, and although I loved the texture, it was too dark for my NC15/20 skin. The Terracotta Sun Scrub also intrigues me, so I will probably pick that up.

I don’t understand what a “tan booster” is (Terracotta Sun Serum). Is it some sort of self tanner?

I’m not a bronzer fan…I embrace my paleness! So the only thing that really interests me is the 4 season bronzer, just because it’s fairly subtle. And I’ve no idea who Natalia Vodianova is but man, she looks like she needs a good scrub with a face cloth! That look is not flattering at all and very artificial looking.

This is exciting! Never tried their bronzers yet! This might be *it!

Anyone (or anyone anybody know of) NC40ish loving their bronzers, especially in terms of *color matching?

Trish Williams Avatar

I’m NW43/45 and I have Guerlain’s Terracotta bronzers in #4 and #8. Love BOTH of them! They give a nice glow of warmth to brown skin. Looking forward to picking up the new 4 seasons one in Eboy b/c of the ‘pink’ part.

I am an NC45 (but I have gone a couple of shades brighter, thanks to Guerlain’s whitening range. Had super hyper pigmentation round the usual spots, so used that range to lighten them up) And I use their Terracotta range, IT IS DA BOMB!!!! like SERIOUSLY, there is a colour for every skintone. The best bit is you can not only use it as a bronzing powder, but also as a face powder to boot. Not many high end brands (Actually it’s a super high end brand LOL) (read ; CHANEL) carries foundation , face powders, bronzers and illuminizers for the deeper tone ladies and gent out there. And Guerlain not only has them, but it DELIVERS to the max too. Try it out. It will not clog pores and cause breakouts too…

Sorry for the long post, but it really deserves more love than it usually gets.

No worries about the long post! I like to read anyway! Haha! But thank you Deepa! 🙂 great info for me!

What shade (s) work for you best?

Also… if you have tried, what foundation shade worked for you?

Crummy Photoshop. So tempted to shoop-up that pic so she resembles a fancy Oompa-Loompa. Like the model, but disliked the fake unnatural tan tone.

The only thing I like in that promo image is that they used a dark nail varnish for a summer collection. That’s quite unusual.

Horrible image aside, I’m happy with the shade extensions! I have the original Blondes 4 seasons and I’ll definitely check out the new shades as it’s a wonderful product.

I have last year’s 4 seasons bronzer in no 2brunettes and I love it during high summer when I am very tanned already. I hope they haven’t messed with it, but merely changed the number. Not that I’m about to run out and repurchase or anything, I think this stuff must last a lifetime!!
I’m NC42 in summer for the record.

I want to add that I have tried the Terracotta Skin in brunettes and it is way, way too dark even for highly tanned NC42 skin. I looked as if I’d been tango’ed. I still have it, but it’s literally been used twice.
