Looks like Mellan likes the taste of Sweet Peach! What an adorable photo…did he get in there himself?

Haul: Nothing! Yay!

Rediscoveries: I’m on a neutral eye kick, so I’m trying different neutral shades from palettes I’ve been ignoring for awhile, such as UD Naked Ultimate Basics.

Weekend plans: Caring for our dog who is still sick. The vet switched out some of his meds, so hopefully that will help him feel better.

How do you like to relax? Binge-watching comfort shows like The Office, reading, crafting, snacking.

Emily Avatar

Haul/Rediscoveries: I wasn’t planning on anything, but with that Vice lipstick sale, I couldn’t resist running over to Sephora (and then to a different Sephora with more colors in stock). Ended up with Jilted, Singe, and a backup of Crisis.

Weekend plans: One kid starts swim lessons tomorrow, and another has a church retreat, so driving people around to things. Kid #3 was sick last night, so add sanitizing all the things to that list. ?

How do you like to relax?: Grabbing a cup of tea or a gin & tonic and knitting. GBBS or Chef’s Table are often on in the background, too.

Emily Avatar

She was pretty perky by this afternoon; the trick was keeping her quarantined (two-year-olds aren’t exactly great at staying away from people).

I set a load of bedding to soak and have been studiously ignoring it ever since. Maybe if I wait long enough my husband will break down and do it…

Genevieve Avatar

I am glad to hear that she is feeling better today and two years always like to be surrounded by people – no luck in the quarantine stakes. And as for the bedding, I don’t know if you could count on your husband….if he’s anything like mine he will run a million miles away from the laundry… Good luck!

Haul: Natasha Denona Bloom Blush & Glow Palette, ABH Dream Glow Kit ($27), Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb in Diamond Milk. Shiseido Benefiance WrinkleResist 24 Intensive Eye Contour Cream (free w/ purchase).

I used my $100 gift code to purchase everything and it came to exactly $100. I was really surprised that they didn’t charge tax but I was extremely happy about it because I didn’t have to pay a penny for any of it.

I forgot that I had purchased and returned the Dream Glow Kit when it first came out, and once I swatched it, I remembered why. You’re truly only getting 4 highlighters and for $45 that’s a lot of money when you consider that ABH’s other 6-pan glow kits are $40. But I can ignore that since the price is $27 because the highlighters are really beautiful and I can use every shade which is rare in a highlighter kit.

Weekend plans: Saturday I’ll go to the gym, go visit my sister, she just had a baby last Thursday and I’m sure she’ll be grateful for a little help with both of the kiddos. Sunday I will be at work.

How Do You Relax: Some things that help me relax include a hot shower, stretching, pole dancing/floor work, watching a little tv, or inversions.

Kris Aleli Avatar

Mellan is such a wonderful boy!

Haul/ Rediscoveries: Viseart Sultry muse, I’m trying to put on more makeup and use my eyeshadows! i used it with the Coy and the neutral mattes palette.
Viseart is releasing such beautiful palettes that I feel so inspired to use what I have, so I don’t have to feel guilty buying new ones sometime this year!

Weekend plans: My husband is working this weekend so the usual and book stuff for the first family trip overseas, we’re going to Japan!

How do you like to relax?: when I’m running and taking my time. Being able to run more than the usual and not just running just to get some miles in so I can go home and get dinner started.

Ciara Avatar

No hauls, which is good for me… My birthday is coming up soon though, so I’m prepared to break that low-buy and spend a bit!!

Rediscoveries: I’ve been using some Colourpop SSS that I haven’t used in a while, as I have found myself more drawn to pressed powder formulas lately. Really enjoying blending with my fingertips again 🙂

Weekend Plans: Dinner with some friends I haven’t seen since November tonight, then dancing later tonight, then brunch tomorrow with a friend who is in town, then a birthday party Saturday for my best friend, and Sunday will be brunch at my favorite cafe while finishing up a very enjoyable novel. Busy busy!

How do I relax: Well, if you can’t tell from my weekend plans, I’m not very good at relaxing! Or rather, typically relaxing activities don’t actually relax me too well. However, curling up with a good book and a nice latte in a well-lit cafe bustling with energy is probably my favorite way to relax.

Lauren Avatar

Haul/Rediscoveries [haven’t bought anything for myself since November 2018 and I like everything but one item so I’m happy]:
– Colourpop: 4 lip liners (one is a backup as they are discontinuing it), 3 gloss (one is a backup as they are discontinuing it), 1 liquid eyeliner, 1 sale SSS, 1 lippie stix, face oil, face cleanser … other than the lippie stix I love it. I am not quite sure what to do with the lippe stix because it is not the color I was hoping for based on swatches and it is a super hot pink base so it fades to that vs the peachy color it is advertised to be.
– Sephora: 3 vice lipsticks and I’m in love with them all

Weekend plans: I’ll be helping with getting the barn ready for a clinic we are hosting next weekend and I also have a riding lesson on Saturday. Weather is supposed to be crappy so not sure how much I’ll actually be able to do. At least this Sunday is my one Sunday off this month from working at the barn – so instead of working in the estimated 5″ of snow I can just stay at home and read books or watch movies.

How do you like to relax?: I go to the barn and just hang out with my horse or my friends out there, read a book, or watch TV and snuggle with my dogs.

Oh Melan, you are such a cute boy. He reminds me of my daughter’s cat who likes to try and cram herself into the smallest space possible.

Haul: I did pick up a few things but mostly for my daughter who went to Southern California to visit a friend who is having a birthday. She needed to pick up a couple of skin care replacements so Drunk Elephant B-Hydra and Protini. I also picked up a Fenty Stunna Lip in Unattached which is a bright coral and will be perfect for SoCal. For myself I purchased the Revlon face primer that Thattala has been recommending for some time and I also replaced a Clinique Jelly Hydrator. Considering that I was in Sephora, Ulta and Walgreen’s and managed to come out well under $200 including the DE products, I think I did okay and particularly since quite a bit of it was repurchases.

Weekend plans: Nothing much. I am continuing to work on a couple of art projects. I have really been enjoying getting back into my art and since I am home alone for 5 days, I am taking advantage of the time to do some “messy” art work! We are suppose to have a break in the snow so I will try and get out and enjoy the “no snow” . It is still really cold though.

Favorite way to relax: I think art and reading are the things that I really love doing so when I have the time that is what I would choose to do to relax.

Deborah S. Avatar

Thank you, Genevieve. I am rather enjoying being by myself for a little while. It is great to not have to worry about meals or cleaning up after someone else. I love my daughter but a break is good.
Throughout my life, I never thought I was particularly creative. I think in comparison to other family members, I am not. My mother paints, sings, sews, crochets, knits, you name it and she has done it. My sister took after her and really has the creative gene. I always saw myself as the more “practical” person in the house. After my daughter was born I started scrapbooking her life and I also started working on our genealogy chart. My daughter being an only child of parents that were older when she was born, I wanted her to know about her family and I worried that it would all die when we did. The more I scrapbooked the more things I wanted to try and now I do a lot of mixed media work, refinish furniture, decorate my home and instead of buying picture albums, I make them from scratch. Over time I came to realize that there are more ways to be creative than just painting and singing. I don’t think my daughter appreciates it now but I am sure she will when we are gone.

Genevieve Avatar

How lovely Deborah! I have learnt, as a teacher, that there are many ways to be creative and sometimes people find their ‘creative gene’ later in life. Children I have taught who haven’t shown the slightest interest in anything ‘creative’ in their early years have ended up doing all kinds of artistic and musical subjects in secondary school and beyond.
I am sure that your daughter will appreciate all of your rich and intricate pieces of work when, perhaps, she is older.

Emily Avatar

Haul/Rediscoveries: Viseart Soleil and Appricotine
Weekend plans:All it does is rain here anymore so maybe just relax. Maybe find something new to watch on netflix.
How do you like to relax?: Binge watch something on tv. If its summer go relax by the pool.

Kira Avatar

Haul/Rediscoveries: Pat McGrath Lust Gloss Trio – Skin Show Nudes. My new favorite gloss – I love Dare to Bare especially and wouldn’t have bought it on its own! I’m going to get the other mini trio set now. Pat is my absolute weakness recently.
Weekend plans: Seeing my boyfriend for the first time in two weeks, thankfully!
How do you like to relax?: Watercolor painting, reading, cooking, museums and botanical gardens, and long walks playing Pokémon Go, XD (yes, still!).

Apparently the “if I fits I sits” thing doesn’t apply to cats exclusively….?

Haul: Last night I did hit up our local Sephora for 2 UD Vice lipsticks (almost bought FIVE!) in Tryst and Ravenswood. Am planning to go get Smashbox Punked Cover Shot palette, too, later today. I like it far better than MJ Steel(etto) palette after swatching them side by side.

Weekend plans: REST. Or so I wish. But no. I have to run out later on for the rent # and catfood. Plus, go back to Sephora….
Deep condition my hair tomorrow because I refreshed my roots Monday night, and fo some odd reason it feels dryer than usual. I have my meeting on Sunday, so that’s a positive.

How do you like to relax? Preferably by the ocean! Oh how I miss it! In lieu of that, I’ll settle on a nice swim in a pool and to sit in the adjoining jacuzzi “spa”. The beach is still a thousand percent better, though! ? ? ?

Genevieve Avatar

I love the beach too Nancy and I don’t really live close to it, but much closer than you do. The sea breezes are so wonderful in summer and pools are not quite the same. Although I am not quite so fond of all that sand getting into everything.
That Smashbox Punked palette is divine – I just looked it up and I do think it is better than the MJ Steeletto palette. More shades that would work well on you and the swatches look heavenly. I am sure you will love it.

Nancy T Avatar

Well, Genevieve, I did nab myself a Smashbox Punked Cover Shot Palette this evening while out getting the kitties and myself some food! I normally don’t wear such cool shades, but the dusky purples, dusty pink and khaki tones look like they could be a lovely and interesting addition to my stash. I’m looking forward to using it!

kjh Avatar

Think I was able to forego Steeletto due to Punked as well. That, plus SGs in the gray/purple family. Patticake likes to envelop herself in doffed clothing, so that she’s the hole in the donut. I do hope you can visit the Jersey Shore soon. I really think that since we evolved from the ocean, there’s a deeper connection than with fresh water of any sort.

Mariella Avatar

That photo of Mellan in the way too small box is hilarious! Daisy used to do similar…she thought she was a much smaller dog than she actually was.

Haul: the Drunk Elephant A-Passioni cream (got a sample, fell in love; bought the full sized tube but today I just noticed how insanely my face is starting to peel!) I’ve also asked DH to bring back a few things from the US for me but they’re not strictly speaking “makeup”. Rediscoveries: Cargo Yukon eyeshadow. I loved it for such a long time but put it aside and forgot about it; took it out today and while still nice, for some reason, it’s not as lovely as I remember it.

Weekend plans: maybe the gym, maybe yoga or maybe just staying home and doing nada. Our cute little local library branch (housed in an old worker’s cottage) is having its official “grand reopening” tomorrow, so I will probably drop in for that

How do I relax: hot yoga, listening to audio-books or watching a favourite tv series OR Coronation Street!

Genevieve Avatar

What a lovely little library you have and it would be great to browse their reopening, hopefully finding some good books to read. Is it still icy cold over your way? We can lend you some heat – it’s been scorching all week and continuing to next Wednesday….so awful.

Mariella Avatar

It actually reopened about 2 months ago (after a REALLY long wait; they had to redo a lot of stuff that had been redone not all that long ago – the ramp, the washroom, etc. – to bring them up to current standards for handicapped accommodations – and because of the small size of the building, it all took way longer than anyone anticipated). I think it might have been closed for over a year! And it is starting to get milder (still below zero but after last week’s latest dump of snow and another day of closed schools) and I’m hoping there won’t be more snow as everyone is running out of places to pile it all and we’ve all got several feet of it on our front lawns and piles 2 or 3 feet high along the sides of the roads. I pity your brutal heat just as much….our last few summers have been so extreme that it’s hard to go out and do anything at all. It would be sooooo nice for you Australians and for us here to have more moderate temperatures rather than these extremes.

Lesley Avatar

Haul: PMG FetishEyes mascara; Murad Rapid Age Spot and Pigment Lightening Serum

Weekend plans: We are moving mid March so I will be packing and nagging my husband to do his part.

How do I like to relax: if it weren’t so unhealthy, I’d say eating a pint of ice cream in front of the TV with a cat on my lap. Now it’s just TV or YT with a cat.

Genevieve Avatar

Good luck on nagging part Lesley and I hope your husband doesn’t leave everything to the last minute! Are you moving to a different part of town or a larger house? It’s an awful process of cleaning out your house to be ready to move. Best wishes with this.

kjh Avatar

Oy, good luck with that. Moving is #4 on the biggest stressors list, right after losing people. Hitting the big 7-0 made me start to give stuff away at a fast clip. It’s important that hubby engages his brains, as well as his brawn, and that’s not always the Y chrome’s strong suit!

Mellan: If I fits, I sits! 😀

Haul: BH Comsetics Blushing in Bali 6 colour palette, Revolution Star Primer and Tony Moly peach hand cream.

Weekend plans: Just chilling before meeting some friends for Turkish food and the weather has finally cooled off some so I can do some badly needed garden and lawn maintenance!

How do I like relaxing?: I’m super lazy so I’m great at relaxing 😉 A good book on the couch with a cosy blanket, Earl Grey tea and jam shortbreads or going off to a beach or a lake or walking through the bush if I’m feeling slightly more energetic! Or even just getting into bed and ensuring there’s a cat in close proximity…

Genevieve Avatar

Oh Mellon, how your mummy loves to dress you up and pose you! He looks adorable.
Haul – nada this week.
Rediscoveries: also nada as it has been swelteringly hot this week.

Weekend Plans: it’s a busy three days in our household at the moment, due to the upcoming birthdays – Olivia’s on March 4th and my husband’s on March 5th.
Friday – was hectic in the 42+ deg. temp. Lachlan and Olivia came over after Olivia’s swimming lesson and stayed. Anika, their mum, was going to a concert at the Zoo and Olivia was attending as well. First Anika went to the zoo to secure the spot, later on I took Olivia to her dad’s workplace (very decent drive toward the city) and he drove her to the zoo for the concert. Lachlan stayed with my husband and then we met our eldest son for dinner at a restaurant with a playroom. And then I took him home.
Saturday – shopping, tidying up etc.
Sunday – Olivia’s birthday party with her friends at a leafy park in the hills nearby. Her actual birthday is Monday (Australian time), and she wanted to go to the Musuem with her family on that day and then they are coming back to our place for dinner. Luckily, we are going out for my husband’s birthday dinner…

What do I do to relax: I love reading, so I always have a good book to read as our local library is well stocked. I also enjoy meeting up with my girlfriends for lunch and having a browse at some shops.
Sometimes I just like to have a walkaround a shopping centre too. I enjoy a good walk and occasionally, I watch TV, if there is a series on that I like. A drive to the countryside with a lunch thrown in never goes astray either.

AJ Avatar

Haul/rediscovery: Nothing! I barely even touched makeup for the entire month of February. I think it’s time to get back into it.

Weekend plans: There’s about a dozen events I’m interested in this weekend, and only one me. Definites are local nerd con that got rescheduled for this weekend when its original date fell in the middle of our Snowpocalypse, and the one-year anniversary party for one of our favorite local cideries. Also gotta spend a lot of time hauling out all the boxes and things that built up when they decided not to dump our recycling for a month.

How I like to relax: Drinking a good cup of tea, reading a book… also a fan of GBBS 🙂

Brenda C Avatar

Lol, Mellan is just peachy!

Haul/Rediscoveries: YSL Volupte Plump-In-Colour Balm in Insane Pink.

Weekend plans: My husband just left for a business trip and it’s freaking cold out so I’m staying in and doing a spa day tomorrow.

How do you like to relax?: I like to find a nice movie on the TV or one I’ve PVR’d.

J Avatar

Haul: Boy Brow and Haloscope (Quartz) from Glossier — first time trying them, so far I like it. Couldn’t resist the UD Vice sale – bought Liar and Trance.

Rediscoveries: 1) I was lusting after the NARS Orgasm balm, and discovered that my less-glamorous Clinique lip palette included a shade that looks super similar but which I had written off as uninteresting. Typical! 2) I’ve been wanting some iteration of Stila Kitten. I just tried one of my ColourPop pressed shadows that came in a set which I had also written off as uninteresting. Whaddayaknow, it’s certainly a close enough Kitten dupe to satisfy me!

Weekend plans: Work and then trying to meal prep a lot of healthy stuff for the week.

How do you like to relax?: Beauty Youtube and Ben + Jerry is my go-to strategy. An ideal strategy would be a warm patio with a view of the ocean and a spicy margarita with salt.

Nikki Avatar

Haul/Rediscoveries: Revlon PhotoReady Eclectic eye contour kit and Super Lustrous Black Cherry lipstick (a trial step for me to decide whether I should buy Tom Ford Lips & Boys Liev)
Weekend plans: Grocery store today, work all day tomorrow, laundry and staying out of the snow (my city’s right on the line between 1-2″ and 2-4″) Sunday.
How do you like to relax?: TV marathons, usually. I favor ION’s daylong Friday (CSI) and Saturday (Law & Order: SVU) marathons.

AB Avatar

Haul/discoveries — I’ve been on a skincare kick lately, so I picked up three versions of Olay Regenerist serums and Estee Lauder Night Repair serum. So far, I like the one Olay I’ve tried (‘microsculpting’) and abandoned the EL serum (the sample was great but the full sized breaks me out like instantly; go figure).

Weekend — pretty routine…hair salon session — cut and color — and pilates. Errands. Trying to catch up on sleep. Thinking about starting a 30-day challenge of some sort, will decide which one to take on today.

Relaxing — I’m not good at it, I keep turning spare time into productivity challenges. With weather around here warming up, I’ve tried to get out for walks at lunch and I do find that relaxing.

Tracey E Avatar

Haul: Charlotte Tilbury The Icon Palette. It’s gorgeous; shadows are creamy, richly pigmented, and long wearing.

Rediscovery: Found an Aveda lipstick in Saffron in a drawer with small cosmetics. It’s a beautiful browny red that sill has that wonderful Aveda scent. Moved it to my ‘to use/finish’ tray. There was a time when I wore mostly Aveda makeup. I especially loved their eyeshadows and blush; small to medium pans that I regularly finished and replaced. Still dip into them every so often and pick up the odd cosmetic when I visit an Aveda salon.

Weekend Plans: Dinner with a friend, reorganizing my makeup, decluttering the livingroom and watching NHL games.

How do you like to relax? Catching up on a favourite show. Watching NHL hockey. Cuddling with a cat. Going to a local coffee shop. Being outdoors.
