Urban Decay Omen Eyeshadow Review, Photos, Swatches

Urban Decay Omen Eyeshadow ($18.00 for 0.05 oz.) is described as a “metallic bright purple with blue shift.” It’s a cool-toned, blue-based violet purple with hints of fuchsia in its base. The finish has a high frost content and comes off a bit metallic. Tarte Touchdown in Londontown is a darker purple. MAC Stars ‘n Rockets is much more fuchsia. Inglot #441 is darker, purpler. It’s not similar to either Urban Decay Ecstasy (cooler-toned, no pink) or Fishnet (very fuchsia/pink, like MAC Stars ‘n Rockets).

Like Deep End, Omen was released in the 15th Anniversary Palette. When I first posted about the shades Urban Decay was adding to their permanent range, readers really seemed quite happy about Omen coming back, so I was eager to play around with it again.  I’m happy to report that it has a soft, buttery texture that applies smoothly and evenly.  The color payoff is good, and the pink base comes out more as you swatch and blend it out.  When I tested this on the lid, it wore well for eight hours without fading or creasing, and after nine hours there was a hint of fading along the outer edge.

Since a lot of you have been wearing Omen a lot, what are some of your favorite looks using it?

the perfect dupe of this color is Jordana Cosmetics Color effects eyeshadows singles in Ms. Jordana, seriously, is EXACTLY the same color, BTW Jordana’s eye shadows are $2 I think

I like to wear Omen on the lid with Half Truth in the crease; as the star of a colorful smoky eye-on lid with blac/grey in crease and smudged black liner; a taupe on the lid and Omen in the outer corner for pop.

I AM SO FREAKING HAPPY THEY MADE THIS COLOR PERMANENT!!!

I have so many eyeshadow palettes I rarely hit pan, but this color has a serious dent. I kept begging the local UD rep at Macy’s Impulse to please, with cherries on top, request on my behalf for this color to be made perm. MY PRAYERS HAVE BEEN LISTENED TO! I love to wear Omen on my lid, with Half Truth on the crease, Ace on the outer V corner and a bit of tainted on the inner corners. Lovely!

Gorgeous! This and Deep End are definitely two shades I’m thrilled to see added to the permanent catalogue. Very beautiful, vivid shades.

You can try it by applying Woodstock on your lid, then apply Omen lightly on the lid and heavily in the crease. Deepen the crease with either a dark purple or Black Out. I love Omen 🙂

does anyone remember what the original asphyxia looked like, this is what it reminds me of except more intense. (I think the asphyxia i saw recently was more pink.

There is this one Shiseido cream eyeshadow in a greyish brown (taupe?) that I like to mix colors like Omen into. With a lighter duo chrome blue, it looks like new-agey moonstone, with a little of the smokiness from the taupe. I can’t wait to go to JCP on Friday and smear it all over my hand, then buy it.
