What was the last eyeshadow palette that caught your eye?

Marc Jacobs Steel(etto) for sure–it’s hard to find cooler-toned palettes, period, and I love me a good taupe eyeshadow (warm or cool). I was so surprised, in a good way, that it wored so well!

For me, it was the Tarte Pro Remix Pro Pro (umpteen “pro’s” in the name). It’s chock-a-block with the sorts of colours I like. I’ve not seen the Steeletto one in-store but when I do, I’m sure I’ll like it but I’ll still probably pass on it….I really am not buying (and even more interesting, not getting excited about) products the way I used to.

Juvia’s Place Warrior II. At it’s core, it’s a neutral all matte palette with a pop of coral. Nothing new. However there is something so eye catching about that palette. I cannot stop looking at it. Haven’t bit the bullet but it’s definitely tempting!

Ugh, definitely Steel(etto) for me too. I was so looking forward to the release. I’m still trying to talk myself out of it because I already have the Smashbox punked covershot palette which has a similar color story. I love the silver shimmer in the Marc Jacobs palette though. Ugh. I love cool tones. The packaging is gorgeous too.

Yep, it’s Steel(etto) over here too. I’ve got the Kevin Aucoin Nude Pop palette so I feel like I shouldn’t want the Marc Jacobs one too. But the KA one doesn’t have that gorgeous silver color. It would be wrong to buy a palette for one color, right? Right?! ?

The Sultry Palette by ABH. With the exception of the coral color, those colors are my jam! But I have so many palettes that I don’t use and have similar colors already. But if I didn’t, I’d for sure buy the palette. Especially now since it’s less than $30. It’s so tempting though…

Wanderess Chill by Wander Beauty, purchased last December. It’s a cool palette, net weight 6×0.08oz/2.2g for 38CAD (five shimmery satins and one matte), Made in Korea, formulated w/o mineral oil, parabens, phthalates, synthetic fragrance, CF, gluten free, dermatologist tested. The packaging is cardboard, no fancy design, but has a large mirror. I was curious about it because of the positive reviews. I can say that the online swatches don’t do justice to this palette. The eyeshadows are so buttery to the touch, the formula resembling to ABH. The shades apply like a dream, no creasing and no fallout.

What amazes me is that when you look at the shades, you may think that they are boring, but when you swatch them, they appear different than in the pan, so much more defined. “Flushed” is a medium pink, “Après Ski” is a beautiful taupe-lilac, “Gondola” is a gorgeous bronze and “Cocoa, well the name says it all. I can’t wait for this brand to come with more eyeshadow palettes. This palette and the warm one sold very fast on the Sephora website (CA). Unfortunately they were only available online.

Indeed, Genevieve, it’s a beautiful palette and what I love most about it, is the formula. The shimmers are so delicate, more satiny/shiny than shimmers per se. They catch the light depending on the angle/ your moves and give a luminosity that is flattering for everyone. I hope this brand will come up with new shades.

I really fell in love with Colourpop Rendezvous – I don’t even know why, I don’t wear blue or ever use black and I have as heck have dupes for all the other shades, but… I still bought it and I don’t regret it.

The other one that also made my breath catch was SG Autumn’s Reign. If that restocks, I am totes getting it!

Ugh, we have finally dropped back to low teens/single digits at night (thank goodness!) and I am so here for it. Summer has gone on long enough, Autumn now please! 😀

Apart from the Sultry palette – which I was super excited to get, it has been the Melt Cosmetics Smoke palette. However as I don’t particularly like the connotations surrounding the palette, I will probably dupe the shades I like the best with some of SG’s singles.
But I do love the green theme.

I think it’ll be a litte controversial on my side…. So pre-last palette was Too Faced Pretty Rich. I’m just pretty keen on all kinds of pink and taupe colors and I love anything that sparkles. Also I thought it’d be a good mixture of sparkle and matte, so I could create many universal looks. But firstly it’s quite hard to find any kind of review (Christina, you still haven’t reviewed it!) and when I found one, it was quite harsh. For a moment I fell for UD Reloaded (due to the same reasons like with TF), but I still have Naked 1 and Naked Basic, and I’m not in love with them, so I was afraid I’d be disappointed. And then, last week, I found a Mrophe x Jaclyn Hill palette. I don”t suscribe her, I heard something about her palette, but nothing major, so I was not against it. I loved the colors! So many of them, and first 3 rows are exactly my colors! What’s more, I’m looking for a universal palette which I’d be able to take with me everywhere due to my frequently moving houses. Now I’m using like 3 palettes at once to create 1 look and it is not convenient. So I bought Morphe palette. I’m going to get it tomorrow and, although I read about it many negative reviews, I’m still SO excited! What’s more, I found the reason I was so enchanted by it – I found my very first palette – one from h&m, that cost 6 USD, and I found that I still love it! – and it occured that it has many similarities with colors’ arrangment, like these beautiful turquoise colors or these light pinkish colors. I hope that I’d be happy with this palette.

I feel like every color story has already been done, but Kevyn Aucoin Nude Pop was the last one that really got me frothing…it was on Sephora Canada website for a very short time and never came back so I missed it.

Chanel’s Les 4 Ombres in Legerete et Experience was first palette in a long time that appealed to me so much I went out to get it.

I didn’t end up getting it though; a big of a sage: several stores in Chicago while there on travel, from Saks to Neimans to Bloomingdales to Nordstrom. Was finally told at Saks it was only available via Chanel.com and Saks wasn’t carrying it. Only to find out later that it was available online at several of these retailers, but by time I found this out it was no longer available.

I have dupes for most of the shades anyway, but I did want this palette — pretty, good for travel, particularly well coordinated. Money saved.

Last one that caught my eye that I actually bought-BH Cosmetics Zodiac.
Last one that caught my eye, period-one of the Revlon PhotoReady Eye Contour Kits. I keep seeing it at my local supermarket every week and it’s just beautiful, with a purply pink and a bright turquoise. I can’t remember the actual shade name-I’ll come back here and add it in a reply after this week’s trip, if I don’t end up buying it then-but the closest I could find in a Google Images search was Eclectic.
