bareMinerals Secret Radiance Remix Edition All-Over Face Color & Radiance
There’s Nothing Secret About This Radiance
bareMinerals Secret Radiance Remix Edition All-Over Face Color & Radiance ($19.00 for 0.07 oz.) is described as a “sheer radiant sheen” that gives a “radiant glow” with a “natural-looking luminosity.” It’s a light-medium golden champagne with a strong gold shimmer-sheen and warm, yellow undertones. Guerlain Terracotta Sun in the City is more golden. Chanel Empreinte de Chanel is more orange. Chanel Shimmering Tweed is a touch more golden.
It is plenty pigmented, and the texture is super soft, finely-milled, and it blends out easily. This is not a product I’d use all-over, because it’s very, very frosted and metallic–I applied it very, very lightly all-over face and then buffed it into the skin, and it was still a rather metallic effect; instead of giving me a natural, luminous lit-from-within glow, I looked oily (and I have normal-to-dry skin). I applied it more heavily along my upper cheek bones as a highlighter, and it’s the kind of frosted/metallic finish that will emphasize pores if not used very, very slightly.
So for me, it didn’t work well as an all-over powder, and it didn’t work well as a more targeted highlighter. I think it’s better as a highlighter than anything else, though with as many highlighters as there are on the market, this would not be my first choice. This lasted six and a half hours on me, and by eight hours, it looked slightly patchy.

I love the blue caps that BM are using for this collection! 🙂 I was curious about this product but now I will definitely pass. Don’t get me wrong, it’s quite pretty but I don’t need an added oily skin-effect to my already VERY oily skin, thank you very much! 😛
And yet you STILL make it look good. /pouts enviously
I kind of wonder how this would work as an eyeshadow, or generally on the eyes. It definitely wouldn’t work on my face – way too many pores, and way too much oil to deal with high frosts!
In the swatches it looks surprisingly chunky (the glitter bits, that is) though that doesn’t come across so much in the photos of it on your face. I went back to take a look at your swatches of TheBalm’s Mary Lou Manizer just to compare and what a difference. Mary Lou Manizer has such a “chunk free” glow, even in the swatches. I’ll be passing on this from BE and sticking to their eye products (I’m off to Sephora later today to get some of their Ready Duos…probably The Escape to start with and who knows what else…)
This is one of my favorite highlighters! I like how it blends into my skin. I am NC50 in MAC by the way.
I’d definitely stick to the Ready Luminizer over this product, it is really shiny… I went into the Bare Minerals store yesterday finally bought The Star Treatment palette you reviewed! It was on sale for $25, so I went for it. I LOVE IT! I’m wearing it today.
What store did you go to? I searched for it at Sephora, but I couldn’t find it! Isn’t it beautiful?
🙂
I got a sample size if this in a kit and I was wondering what to do with it. I guess using it as a highlighter would be best because it has so much shimmer in it. I kinda don’t like my face giving out shimmers.
Definitely a highlighter.
This is one of the reasons I don’t like bareMinerals face powders. It just has too much pigment to be used as an all over face color and looks overdone when you use it just in specific areas. It still doesn’t look bad on you, I just wish bareMinerals would put some more of their line into pressed form, like their lovely highlighters. I think it’d be easier for people to control and not overdo it.
Ummmmm. Thanks to Christine teaching me to look at the amount also. I noticed that there is not much in each package. I think it is almost the size of their loose eyeshadow. Maybe, you dont need much to highlight the face…but that is sorta pricey or that amount….Unless you absolutely love bareMinerals and am loyal to it, I think there are comparable products for less the price…and less messy.
I love BM except for their “all over radiance” powders. They are all just waaaay too sparkly for me! I was interested in the Ready luminizers that came out during the holidays, but I really own so many highlighters I just can’t seem to justify the purchase.
As pretty as the color is – based on the review and similar products I’ve tried in the past, I think this would emphasize my pores a lot
Yikes, no one wants to be covered in shimmer! I guess it had to happen sometime that Bare Minerals would disappoint haha! Still love ’em though!
Christine,
The All-Over Face Color & Radiance product are super shimmery, but they are meant to be use sparingly. Use may be 1/10 of what you had in the cap. I use the Bare Minerals Feather Light brush so that it doesn’t go on too heavy. With this product you really do have to swirl and tap as well.
Hi Melinda!
I used very, very little – I tried using a stippling brush with this!
It looks nice on your face but I’d be very hesitant to apply something so shimmery all over my face. I’ve got oily skin, and I run in the opposite direction from face products like that, lol…
