Not so much discovered, as it was done for me. When I had my Mac makeup lesson earlier this month, the artist combined Spice pencil and lipglass with Modesty. Turns out Modesty is MLBB, and Spice adds just a touch of warmth and orange. I love the idea of orange lipstick, but on my light-medium cool leaning neutral (NW20) skin, it makes me look like I have jaundice. Spice manages to avoid that.

I’m loving the Fenty winter lipsticks as toppers: No Chill (lighter blue metal) over Clapback (navy) or Nyx Foul Mouth (navy black…and you have no idea how appropriate the name is.) Fog Snog looks great over my far-too-many greiges, ABH, Nyx, Maybelline, etc., and fine alone. The bites are great as toppers, too. So many dry LLs benefit in comfort from a topper, and the looks can be very individualized. The third Fenty looks wonderful over Zoeva About Turn (dark pumpkin) and anything else in the orange/brown family. Good thing, bec I could never do Frost Sauce by itself.

I have just learned more about Aaliyah since the documentary about RKelly was on. I had heard her name, but that was all. I know…I live under a rock. Now I’ve watched several videos….what a beautiful voice. Such a shame her life was cut so short.

I don’t often combine lipsticks but this morning I layered Dior Rouge Mirza Mauve over Shiseido VisionAiry gel lipstick in Night Rose and it looks awesome.

I rarely use just one lipstick or lip product at a time. I am just extra that way, LOL!!
I recently revisited my favorite pairing of all time which is MAC “Nightmoth” lip pencil over Rouge Bunny Rouge “Perfume of His Gaze” which I have remarked more than once is such a cool name for a lippie. It is such a great fall/winter combo for me and will probably always be my favorite.

I also love Pat McGrath Permagel Lip Pencil in “1980” which is a bright pink and over that I apply Pat McGrath MatteTrance Lipstick in “Antidote 207” which is a deeper violet and looks weird on my lips but adding the bright fuchsia pink makes it work well for me. I also add Lust Lip Gloss but can’t remember the name.

NYX Slim Lip Pencil in “Nude Truffle”, Smashbox Lipstick in “Safe Word” and Buxom lip gloss in “Celeste”. This combo is great for every day for me and seems to go well with just about any eye shadow look I’m wearing. If I want something a bit deeper, browner and richer I’ll swap the Smashbox “Safe Word” for Stila Lip Balm in “Savannah”.

I honestly think I could wear almost any lip color paired with the NYX “Nude Truffle” liner and Buxom “Celeste” and like the way it looks with my skin tone.

I’m going to have to give part of the same answer: Bite Beauty Squid Ink with Bite Beauty Peacock Pearl gloss. And I didn’t discover it so much as see it on Christine. 🙂 I don’t own Oyster Pearl, but I’ve started experimenting with glosses to see if I can do something similar.

Like a few others here, I don’t do “combos” either. I wear a lip colour “as is” – I don’t have the time or the patience to create and then try to recreate “new” effects by combining. I guess my only winning combo would be Fresh Lip Scrub followed by Laneige lip mask before I go to bed.
