How often do you change your beauty routine?

How often do you change your beauty routine? Not just colors/products but the actual steps/procedures as well? And how drastically do you change it when you do?

Not very often! I would say that I have a few routines and rotate through them.

i just use non-neutrals now, cos i don’t like them much anymore so i m trying to use them up. i’ve stopped buying non neutrals. i haven’t used neutrals in a long time.

As far as method, very rarely. I might change the order occasionally (eg. if I’m wearing sunscreen vs. a SPF moisturiser I have to wait longer for it to soak in so I do other things in between), but as far as skincare products, if I find something that works, I stick with it.

Colour-wise, still rarely. I have a core set of things I know look good with minimal effort, and I tend to spend a bit more on them. It makes it easier and quicker for me if I know exactly what I’ll use.

I wished I could change my makeup routine more often but it is pretty much the same basic routine. Days that I work is makeup free days. Weekends and non working days I can wear makeup. So I pretty much play around with my skin care routine and go through my skincare/facial products in rotations. For example, I alternate days I do a facial mask with days I do an exfoliating facial scrub. I use a set of product for one week and then I switch off and use a different set of products the next week. I do that so my skin won’t get use to the product and for some reason it seems to work pretty good for my skin.

I don’t do the same thing with my eyes often at all. One day I’ll use gel liner and do a big cat eye, the next almost no liner with crazy shadow. So maybe I’m the same as Christine, in that I do have a few basics. Always learning new things though.

I only change it when I buy a new product that includes a new step. For exemple I’m not a serum addict but, this winter I treated myself with one that I love, so I changed my routine JUST to include a serum step.

By the way it is HYALU Serum 2.3 only in French pharmacies.

generally I also switch routine from summer to winter and winter to summer.

For skincare, I’m always on the hunt for the next awesome thing, so I tend to change up my routine as I add or subtract products. I just added a toner, for example, and a cleansing oil. For makeup, I don’t know as I have a “routine”; I have what I usually wear, but even that changes depending on whether I want powder foundation or TM or BB cream.

My skincare routine practically always stays the same. As for makeup, it changes everyday! I stick with neutrals but everyday its different! It’s so much fun to come up with different looks!

Not very often sadly. I just finished an years worth of an internship in a corporate office and everyday my routine would be the same. Now that I have a bit more time, I will explore old favourites in my collection and new combinations I haven’t tried! In terms of beauty and not just makeup, I came back with a Clarisonic from NY so that’s probably the most recent change!!!

When it comes to makeup, I have a couple of “fail-safes” in my arsenal, usually for times I don’t have time and/or energy to put much thought into it, and these are justy basics that depend on where I’m going or what I’m doing. When I can be bothered to do more, it’s constantly changing, or at least evolving.

I try to stay consistent with skincare, and I’d actually been using the exact same products for over 8 months. I had an all natural, paraben-free routine that was *perfect* for me, but since we’ve been having an unusually cold, windy spell, my skin needs a bit more moisture, so I’ve had to go back to using “mainstream” products for the time-being. My skin is on the drier side, especially in colder temps, and my moisturizers weren’t cutting it. When the weather turns, I plan to transition back, though.

I find I change it every now and then when a new element is introduced. If I’ve bought a new product I sometimes will change other aspects of my routine, without really thinking about it.

Make up? After forty years it still goes on in much the same way. There have been whole new products invented, but they just get inserted into the order. And some fancier brushes but one thing good about a vet of the sponge tip applicator? I can do perfect eyes with a q tip. It make MUAs heads explode! lol!

Skin care? Of course, I Retin A and moisturize, wear sunblock, have a nip tuck savings account. And today we need full face make up remover. That’s new. In the Seventies/ Eighties it washed off with Dove soap.

So occasionally, as needed. Unless you mean color, nobody does that the same way twice, even with the same products daily.

I rarely change up my routine. I believe in the saying, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!” so I only try a new technique or search for new products when my regular routine consistently fails to produce my desired look.

Rarely, I pretty much wear the same look daily. If I have more time in the morning, or if I’m going to a special event, I will wear more makeup. I generally wear light foundation, lip gloss or lipstick, eyeliner and mascara on a daily basis.

Overall I prefer to stick to my favorite beauty products and routine, this being more so with skincare, which I seldomly keep changing products. No point in changing what is already working well. I am relatively more amenable to changing things up for cosmetics from time to time while largely keeping to basics for the most part. I don’t have the space to store extra stuff, nor the budget to constantly blow cash on new products.
