I like it. Don’t need it, won’t get it. Also, why do 9 out of 10 palettes released anymore have at least two forms of metallic gold? Does anyone need that much gold?
I feel the same about golds… So many complain about matte blacks being in every palette, but at least more people can use it.
I almost never use the black shadows, but I wear the heck out of the golds, champagne, and bronze shades! All of them-which is why I’m finally going to cave on the Natasha Denona Gold palette ❤️
I’m not the kind of person that has a million palettes, but I ALWAYS make the biggest dent in the gold/champagne shades. They are just so easy to use and flattering with my (blue) eyes.
Same here. I use golds/champagnes tons much, much more than black.
If it’s a coppery gold too I can’t do it – ruins the whole palette for me!
Me too! Hate the bright orange/ copper shimmers! It ruins the palette and any look it is paired with.
Omi looks gorgeous. She is an icon, even amongst supermodels. And glad that a mature woman (48) was chosen, rather than someone barely pubescent. And there’s a host of second generation choices these days… The palette shades really do look universal, if we can ever believe what we see, due to photoshop.
She is amazing! So beautiful…
I think I want this palette… Ugh! I was supposed to start a low-buy!
She is 48? That is amazing. I would have never guessed that age. I am also 48 and do not look nearly as young as she. What a beauty!
This looks quite solid in the shade selection and presented swatches. It also looks verrry much like the leaked photos of UD Naked Reloaded seen on IG. Hmmm…. ?
This palette looks stunning, but I’m not loving the reformulation…
Naomi is killing it!
Looks nice enough but not anything I don’t already have (and I have the feeling that Pat McGrath has probably done these types of shadows better than Nars – I love Nars but their shadows can be “iffy”). I wish they’d just put me out of my misery and bring back Lhasa!!! I also have issues with Naomi Campbell as the “face” – her bad behaviour is legendary and if she were any ordinary person, she’d have faced much more serious consequences (and this goes for a lot of other badly behaved celebs….just not people I would choose to endorse with my $$$).
I haven’t heard anything about her recently and that is probably because I don’t follow what a lot of super-models are doing. I think I checked out about the time she through and hit someone with a mirror, or something similar. I think she is really beautiful. I am glad that they are using an older woman as the face this launch but would have loved to see someone else. I don’t buy a ton from Nars anymore so this is going to be an easy pass for me.
That’s just it, Deborah – I am fairly sure there are many beautiful women – “super models” or actresses or women who’ve excelled in other fields – who would also be wonderful but don’t have that sort of behaviour in their history. I guess I’m of the belief that those who have privilege also have an obligation to behave well to others, especially those who “serve” them. So since it’s “just makeup” and we all have the freedom to choose where we spend, I try to avoid things like this (same as I wouldn’t buy anything by/from Justin Bieber, Jeffree Star, etc.)
Cindy Crawford, Claudia Schiffer, Elle MacPherson and Christie Brinkley come to mind…..without the baggage.
Lhasa is my favorite NARS shadow (well, that and Night Porter). I can’t remember whether it was you or xamyx who turned me onto it first, but it’s such a perfect taupe with just that hint of lavender. If I’d know it was going to be DC, I would have bought a backup. I should have paid more attention. *sigh*
I saw the palette name, scrolled to see Naomi and got excited; until I saw the actual palette. It is a pointless palette filled with repetitive, pale shades.
This is such a beautiful palette. I am a huge fan of Nars shadows. This will be mine! Thanks for your post about this gorgeous new product.
Here we go again, NARS, with repromoted shades. Sophia was one of the first NARS singles i bought (and still have). At a glance, there are at least 3 repromotes in here. Loved NARS holiday (which was nonetheless populated with repromotes) but NARS needs to step it up. I never thought i would be someone buying a bunch of Colourpop palettes but that’s what happened because the variety is there and not here.
Naomi looks gorgeous as always, but the palette doesn’t excite me. The Centerfold shade looks gorgeous, though.
The concept is nice but this looks like several of the eye shadow palettes they’ve recently put out. Nothing new or exciting here for me.
6 versions of brown and 3 gold/coppers. PASS…..
I like the colours of this palette – but I have dupes already so I probably won’t buy. However I see something that looks odd to me in the photo of the swatches. The light and light-medium skin tone arms look like they belong to the same person and the medium-dark and dark skin toned arm look like they belong to the same person – just with some photoshop to adjust the skin colour. I hope I’m wrong.
No, there are clear differences between all 4 arms. I only suspect that the swatches themselves are photoshopped and not real.
Nars palettes aren’t always the best. If Pat McGrath or UD has a new palette coming, I’ll wait for it.
I love the shine of whatever she’s wearing on her eyes! It’s really beautiful and flattering on her.
Nope, not doing another copper, gold, brown palette, period.
I love all those coppery gold shades, because ever since I became hooked on the shade, thanks to Lorac Pro Metal’s Amber, I go through them like water.
Gorgeous palette. It make me think that this is Nars’s take on the Sultry palette.
Will this be available at sephora too or just nars online?
This is a gorgeous nude collection, that I don’t need. Naomi looks incredible, though. I wish them much success!!
I am in my 40s and for my entire life, I have pretty much stuck to neutral shades. I will use shimmer on the lid, but always neutral. Even when I was younger I stuck with neutral colors. I can tell that I am getting old when I have an issue with the current fashion/styles/makeup. For instance, shopping for pants….most are what we used to call “highwaters” being sold today everywhere. I STILL love my jeans to cover my entire leg. I do not think the highwater look is cute. Everyone else seems to love it. I am just not down with that at all. Same with current makeup styles/colors. This one is ok but I would not consider this nude or neutral at all. I am at a loss as to how so many horribly ugly colors became so incredibly popular with the millenials. Some of it looks awful. Copper, orange, red, some blues, and loud shade metallics on your eyelid? Why ? Forgetting what is on trend right now, basics of makeup dictates that one would not wear “red/orange/copper, etc” eyeshadow because it DOES draw out imperfections in your skin tone and especially if you have any element of dark circles or thin skin (showing some vein as so many people do). Those colors just don’t make any sense to me. Looks good on the runway for a model trying to make a serious statement, but now that I see these shades being worn everyday by most young makeup fanatics, I truly wish I could understand the hype. I thought I felt this way about the radical shades because I was getting old, but that’s not it. Even if I were 20, it would be a cold day in ____ when I wore yellow or orange or copper glitter on my eyelids. Just so not pretty. Now almost every new palette is filled with random bizarre looking colors. If I were to wear them (back then or now) I would look like I am in costume. I truly hope that some day real soon they start putting out quality neutrals, or at least colors that are complimentary to average skin tones. Hoping this is a phase, but it at least has caused me to save a LOT of money on palettes. The last one I liked even remotely was the Aspyn palette by Tarte. My go to is UD basics II. I have not found ANYTHING that works better than that palette for everyday.
