Stila Shade Mystere Collection includes eight new liquid eyeshadows and one “face gloss.” While the liquid eyeshadows are billed as having “color-flip pigments” that are “color-changing,” I wasn’t able to detect much shift (some not at all) in person, let alone in photos, though they were all sparkly/glittery. You can click any shade’s photo below to see the full photo set (including an angled swatch).

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

Shame more of them aren’t as opaque as Charmed. I wonder if the “color flip” would be improved over a black base. But these will be a hard pass from me.

A gimmick that falls completely flat. Thank you so much for saving me money on something I thought might be as good as their regular Shimmer & Glow shadows.

I think these look really sad. No pigmentation and no shift that I can see. Charmed is pretty and the overall tone is not similar to the shades already in Stila’s Glitter and Glows or their Shimmer and Glows but even that shade doesn’t look amazing. This will be an easy pass for me unless there is a way to make them work better.

Is this the Stila response to the Little White Lies fiasco? 2 points, I guess, for that, and that only. Lots of consumers are complaining about only getting black from these. Back to the drawing board; good luck next time. We’ve seen worse, but these really don’t do what they purport to.

I actually saw these in store today and swatched a few. They were much more pigmented and reflective in person, but I didn’t quite see the color shift that the brand advertises. I thought they were a nicer alternative to the glitter & glow because the glitter pieces are much smaller and smoother. The main difference is the base is not as pigmented but the glitters are quite multi-dimensional.

Same, I bought two of them, I think they’re gorgeous if not quite as advertised. The light blue and purple/pink shift are going to look amazing this spring!

When I saw the photos of the bottles I was wondering what these were for and then the swatches???!!! I thought, “Are these for the lips?” I read they’re for the eyes, but maybe someone was confused. The product testing teams must have been on vacation because as many have said, this is sad, but even more than that, inexcusable.

Boy those are gorgeous in the bottle but yikes on the skin! It’s too bad, because they looked like they could be a fun going out look, but this is a definite skip. Unless I just want to put them on a shelf and look at them because wow they are nice in the bottle!
