Chanel Accessoire Le Vernis / Nail Colour ($26.00 for 0.40 fl. oz.) is described as a “deep red brown.” It is a deep, red-toned brown with a cream finish. It’s almost a perfect balance of red and brown, so it yields something very rich and lush but deep and dark all the same. MAC Dim the Lights is browner. Barielle Wool You Marry Me is a smidgen darker but very comparable. Rescue Beauty Lounge Atame is much darker and more red-toned. Rescue Beauty Lounge Moulin Rouge is a bit darker.
Oh, Accessoire was head-to-toe luxury–fantastic formula with opaque color in two coats (nearly in one!) with a consistency that was balanced between thick and thin. The polish flowed beautifully across the nail without streaking, bubbling, or pooling along the edges. It dried down to a naturally shiny finish, too. I typically get a week of wear out of Chanel’s formula with no chipping (just minor tip wear). It’s absolutely the kind of shade that makes up a core color range, so you may, in fact, have something already like it, but if you don’t, consider it a color (whether this particular Chanel or a lookalike) to add to your color wardrobe.

WOOW! I am loving this oxblood colour!
To my eyes, this looks exactly like Chanel’s legendary Vamp. Perhaps a microscopic fraction duller or less bright, but I’m probably just imagining it. No, I really see no difference from Vamp. Did they discontinue it? They couldn’t have, surely. I think they made over $1 million from Vamp in that first year alone. Now I have to go pull mine out.
Chanel’s Vamp nail polish was definitely discontinued a long time ago and replaced by Rouge Noir, which was supposed to be an update of it. They even had the same number, number 18. I remember seeing a comparison between the two and they were very, very similar, so Rouge Noir is pretty much the modern equivalent of Vamp.
However, there are two versions of Vamp, the original was a creme, the rerelease almost a decade later (2003 version) had some shimmer. Rouge Noir is a creme like the original.
Honestly, I can’t see why Chanel would put out such a similar colour to something they already have that’s a legend. I suppose that’s why I’m not falling for this colour. It just doesn’t seem unique enough in their current line up of colours. However, like Christine said, it is one to complete a basic colour wardobe if one has nothing like it.
I love the look of this classic, deep red. It’s a staple in any nail polish wardrobe.
I know that you stay away from OPI but i have to mention that this colour looks very, very similar to OPI’s, Suzi’s a Chocoholic.

It looks great for sure, but I’m surprised Chanel would put out a shade that seems so similar to the infamous Rouge Noir (Accessoire appears to be slightly lighter), and not in limited edition either. But your review makes it rather appealing!
Very pretty, but also very dupeable (for *alot* less). I have at least 10 bottles in my stash ATM that are within the same range.
I don’t wear dark colors like this, but I found Peridot, (Holy Grail color!) and another pink I’ve wanted on Chanel.com and threw down the cash. Worth every cent! I now understand why so many friends have two colors, maybe three of Chanel and nothing else. Nothing compares.
My polish always goes on messy. But not Chanel! It goes on straight, wears amazingly even if I’m too lazy to topcoat it, and dries very quickly. It’s amazing stuff, unlike any other polish I’ve tried.
Yeah, I’m a convert. Those Peridot dupes aren’t, BTW. I tried them all, not even close.
I’m definitely going to pick this up. For some reason I like to run nails opposite to the season …brights in fall and darks in spring.

To me, it looks very close to OPI Skyfall.
Love it but it’s not unique. Reminds me of Bourjouis Cerise Noire and OPI Mrs O’Leary BBQ.

Love love your reviews. I’ve just started buying chanel makeup after years of struggling to find a good foundation. I’m a complete convert. I don’t care what people say there is no such thing as a chanel nail varnish dupe. I don’t like opi anyway they are awful to apply, so messy and chip after a day. Chanel varnishes have something nothing else does, I can’t put my finger on it but you can tell a chanel varnish a mile off. I love this colour I’m torn now between this and rouge noir. Besides when you buy a chanel varnish you aren’t paying for the product alone, you can dupe a colour, but the feeling you get when you apply chanel les vernis is incomparable.
