What’s the prettiest beauty product you own but never use? Why?
I don’t think there’s a pretty product that I have but never use. Usually, items I have that have really pretty designs and the like… well, I have to use so I can review! I’ve long gotten over “destroying” some fancy design, haha.

MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Light Flush from the N collection. I’ve used nonstop for the first year I had it and then I stopped with i discovered Hush Cream colour base.
Theres so many! I have a box of powders that I will never use because I don’t want to mess up the design and they were limited edition. I’m hoping eventually I will find a nice way to display them!
I have a MAC Marine Life that I don’t use but technically I do because I have 2, one I use and the other one just to look at 😛
@AnnaPMaquillaje I did the same thing!
MAC Marine Life!
My only Urban Decay Glide-on Liner. The shade is Stash. It’s pretty difficult in my country to get those kind of products, so I love them so much… I never actually use them. My other product like that is Deborah Lippmann’s “Stairway to Heaven”
My Rock and Republic bronzer. It’s been discontinued so I can’t bring myself to use it.
I haven’t opened my Hey Sailor Crew powder. LOL it’s so unique I don’t want to ruin it by using it.
Guerlain Cruel Gardenia Meteorites. I haven’t used it yet because it’s so beautiful! 🙂
As much as I *love* my UD 15 Anniversary palette, it is such a PITA to use. I keep it in the original plastic “box”, so every time I want to use it, I remember all the hassle, so I grab something else, instead. I recently depotted it, though, and now I’m working on getting a freestyle palette to house them in, and I’ll probably depot my Naked palettes, too. Also, my UD Deluxe singles; I don’t tend to reach for singles of *anything*, but the clear plastic kept coming off, so again, depotted… I also hate using LE items, for fear of running out-I still haven’t used my MAC Deceit pigment, although I know it will last a very long time. Needless to say, I have way too much not being used, so I’m making an effort to use them, and go on a “no-buy” for the next few months, unless it *amazes* me.
@xamyx I agree that the UD Anniversary palette packaging makes it hard to use! I depotted mine and it’s much more useful now!
@Emi at Project Swatch What sort of palette are you using to put them in now? I also want to depot my Naked palettes, as well, and *ideally* I’d like to find one to hold all of them. I have such limited space, and I find myself using both Naked palettes together, but I also like to add a color or two, which I often don’t bothe with, as that means pulling out yet *another* palette.
@xamyx @Emi I have several Z-Palettes – I like them because you can see what’s inside! I am pretty sure everything (two Nakeds plus the Anniversary shadows) would fit in a large one along with more. Here’s a photo of one of my large Z-Palettes: https://picasaweb.google.com/113326041557997182736/Sync44#5745173679832155410
Most of the neutrals from the Anniversary palette are on the left. I have the brights in a different palette.
@Emi at Project Swatch @Emi Thanks. The pics not showing up, but I’ll take your word. I did actually find a retail store near me that actually carries them, so I’ll definitely take a look. I like the fact they are transparent, too.
MAC Marine Life Highlight Powder because it is so gorgeous that I refuse to use it and not ruin the overspray.
I never buy makeup with cute designs because I know I won’t use it!! :/
My mind immediately went to all of my gorgeous red and vampy lipsticks which I love dearly but require so much more effort to apply than light glosses that I almost never wear them. (MUFE Moulin Rouge, I bought you almost two months ago; why are you still in the packaging??) A complicating factor is that my lips are wicked dry right now due to Accutane so almost any lipstick is out until that’s finished anyways, especially drying ones. 🙁
I really don’t care much about fancy designs. I buy products to use them not to look at them
I guess MAC blush in Melba :p dnt knw but just love to look at it 😉
Agent provocateur sparklin body. Balm, gold and red bow box… Aaawwww
My Chanel’s Coco Rouge Shine, guess…
My MAC eyeshadow from the Disney Villans collection.
My Dior Luggage Tag http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/dior-addicted-to-dior-lip-gloss-luggage-tag/3096476
I use everything I buy no matter how cute it is! hehe
The blush from the Lancôme “Paris” themed collection a few months ago (blanking on official name of collection). The design in the blush is too pretty!!!!
kitty kouture dazzleglass is my all time i have saved.my last one and never want to use it. just wondering if anyone knows any dupes out there that is really similar??? wish they would make it permanent
@Ashley Semerenko, I have that blush. It is beautiful, but I use it. It makes my cheeks look like they are “lit from within”.
Ysl lipstick
I have some beautiful lipsticks (colors) from MAC but I don’t use them because I feel they dont look good on me… :-(. I know weird…

I have a couple of MAC eyeshadows that are gorgeous but I rarely have an occasion to wear them!

Limited Edition lipsticks…so difficult to bring myself to use it and ruin the perfect shape!
My UD Alice in Wonderland palette
My Chanel velvet lippie!
Illamasqua pigments in royal blue and jade green
I am only using about three to four lipsticks for daily but I am keep buying mac lipsticks like a collector….
I don’t “not use’ a product just because it looks pretty, but the prettiest product I own is Laura Mericer’s rose rendezvous, and yes, I did buy it simply because it was pretty, but it turned out to be a great buy and I use it often 🙂
@eltscott
It took me ages to use it because I didn’t want to ruin it because it was so pretty. But I eventually buckled and it’s such an amazing product!
I bought the Burberry Sheer Summer Glow compact but haven’t been able to bring myself to use it because a) I haven’t really had time to play around with makeup and b) it’s so pretty!
Dior forever skin powder. The compact is beautiful but the powder itself sucks!!! I keep it in my purse for the mirror but I’ll be buying another refill of my hello flawless powder as I have so many times before.
Sigh, the Physician’s Formula Happy Booster blush. It’s actually the most expensive blush I own, but I almost never use it because it’s too shimmery. It definitely is nice to look at, though!
I am not really overly fond of pretty products and rarely purchase anything that has an elaborate design or even stripes of product contained in the same pan. It’s just not my thing. I would rather have nice sleek and sophisticated packaging and a pan full of the product colour I am looking for rather than a pan where I am hunting and searching and trying to get some of this colour or that colour combined on my brush. I’m definitely a simple and practical person when it comes to makeup. I rarely buy palettes for the similar reasoning. They are supposed to be cost effective, but rarely are for me because I find a couple of favourites and the rest are left to dry out. Of course, there are a few exceptions, but for the most part, I buy singles of everything and I stay away from pretty products with complex designs.
There are so many….but right now is Guerlain/ Pucci bronzer and blush.
My boyfriend bought me a Dior travel palette from the Duty Free store on his way back from Chile earlier this year and I’ve hardly touched it. It’s gorgeous and it has pretty much everything you need for a full face (with the exception of primers), but I can’t bring myself to use it because it’s such a precious gift to me since he picked it out all by himself.
I am not really attracted to beauty products with complicated or pretty patterns on. I actually don’t care at all.
I am more a colour person and get excited when I see beautiful colours or colour combinations. I keep on buying as I love to see how those colours/products on me. the good thing is I definately have to use them at least once to see how they are on me. 😛
Benefit’s Black Orchid lip cream in ‘It Was Just A Matter of Time’. I bought it for the packaging even though the colour is all wrong for me.
Oh, and MAC’s TLC in Miss Bunny from their Disney Collection in 2007. Once again, the colour is all wrong (pale blue-pink on my red lips really doesn’t work) but the packaging was too cute to pass by…
I have a few mac Beauty Powders which do not get touched. Especially the Dame Edna one – it’s just so quirky and pretty with her glasses embossed in it! So that will sit unused forever!
Damn, I have lots fo pretty products that I never use, but not because they have cute designs, just because I have too much makeup! I’m thinking to a fab MUFE glitter pigment (that costed me a lot) but I HAD to buy it because I saw it a pixiwoo video and it was so nice… and I only used it once. Toooooo much makeup. And the worst part is that I keep buying more!
i think for now.. it’s Guerlain’s Cruel Gardenia… too pretty to defile 😛
