Rant & Rave: Non-Sticky Lipgloss

This Week’s Topic: NON-STICKY LIPGLOSS!

Your Mission: Tell us what you love, hate, or are otherwise indifferent to about non-sticky lipgloss. What drives you bananas? What makes them necessary?

my answer: I love the texture and feel of a non-sticky lipgloss, but they tend to wear off so quickly, so you have to reapply. I’m not too keen on that–I’m kind of lazy when it comes to reapplying a gloss.

Same here! The only non-sticky gloss I’ve tried that lasts long is Giorgio Armani Gloss d’Armani, though I suspect it’s partially because I tried it in a raspberry red. I might have to get a light color just to prove my theory is correct haha

Bourjois and ysl have great non sticky lip glosses. Lip glosses should be non sticky and light and comfortable to wear. they can be thick n non sticky but not goopy. Its so annoying when a strand of hair sticks on a sticky lip gloss like MAC.

I prefer a non-sticky lipgloss. While it’s true that they wear more quickly, I find if a gloss is sticky, I end up rubbing my lips together constantly due to the way it feels, causing it to wear more quickly than average (sometimes, it wears more quickly than a non-sticky gloss). Either way, for me both formulas have about the same wear time, but the non-sticky gloss feels better, so in the end it’s the better choice.

@xamyx I agree so much! It wears off uneven too. So I feel like there are clumps of lipgloss on my lips. The non-sticky gloss seems to just sink into my lips and doesn’t feel gross at all!

Me tooooo!  I get so fed up with reapplying, I just give up on the gloss and slap on some Jack Black balm and go lip nekkid or put on a lipstick I always carry with me instead… trusty Tom Ford Blush Nude.

I agree. Even though I like the feeling of non-sticky lipglosses, I just won’t reapply often enough to make it worth it. If I’m going for a great look that will wear off and I don’t mind that happening, then I’ll reach for non-sticky. Otherwise, I’ll keep reaching for those stick lipglosses that stay put!

Bourjois made a really nice water based lipgloss. It had virtually no staying power, but it was still nice. Korres Cherry Oil gloss is nice. To me it seems like non sticky glosses are very slick on the lips, and that isn’t my favorite thing.  I would rather a gloss be sticky and cling to the lips, than slick and just kind of sitting there just waiting to slide off the minute I do anything with my lips.

@jenmhilton ive used that bourjois water based lip gloss.it has sugar as one of its ingredients, so it tasted great too! It was so comfortable to wear.

I like non-sticky lipgloss. I tend to use gloss over a stain or lipstick, so sticky ones mix with the other product and get goopy and gross. I actually really dislike lipgloss if it is sticky. I find that non-sticky lipgloss is more moisturizing and actually doesn’t wear off as much. If it does wear off it goes all at once and doesn’t clump on my lips.

I prefer non-stiky lipglosses! I really don’t like the feeling of my lips sticking to everything, I rather reapply during the day!

I dont really wear any form of lip gloss, however a kinda “non sticky” lipgloss is Tarte’s Lip Surgance natural lip lusters. Those are between a lipstick and lip gloss and arnt sticky at all; the color stays on for a while as well. Love those!

They don’t last! Unfortunately I’ve about given up on lipglosses. They’re either sticky, or they wear off the minute I breathe, or the pigmentation is right up there with Carmex. If anyone has a lipgloss they swear by with nice pigmentation and good wear, let me know because I’m about to go to stains forever!
