5 Amazing Antique Gold Eyeshadows
Any other beauty buffs as enthusiastic as I am when it comes to antique golds? It’s absolutely one of my favorite shades to wear. My two top favorites are both difficult to get, as one is only available overseas (Giorgio Armani #14 Eyes to Kill Intense) and the other was a limited edition shade from eons ago (MAC Rye). An honorable mention goes to Urban Decay Maui Wowie, which has frustrating fall out from the micro-glitter, but the color itself is amazing–it’s one of the few fallout-prone eyeshadows I’ll bother to work with.
- Make Up For Ever #11 Aqua Cream — medium-dark molten gold with a metallic finish
- OCC Cruising — brassy gold with a very shimmery, metallic finish
- Le Metier de Beaute Chameleon — lightened antique gold
- Giorgio Armani Khaki Pulse — bronzy antique gold–it’s just on the edge of your traditional antique gold hue
- Maybelline Bold Gold — warm, antique gold with a burnished yellow tone
Hmm. I did not like the Maybelline Bold Gold. I had tons of fallout problems with it.

@LJ777 The 24 hour color tattoo formula. I had a couple of the pots and the Bold Gold was the only one I had fallout issues with.
Armani Eyes to Kill Intense #14 is £26 here in the UK, I’m actually at the checkout, about to buy it – unless anyone thinks there’s a cheaper dupe?
We don’t have that Maybelline shade here yet though, I really hope we get it!
This is definitely one of my favourite colours to wear. I think it pretty much suits everyone too! I have green-blue eyes, pale skin and gold-blonde hair, so I think to be honest it’s the best shade on me.
Its really a nice combination. I like it
What about MAC pigment “Old Gold”? I love it!! 🙂 I think it’s pretty similar to OCC Cruising – we don’t have OCC here, but I’d love to try it out.

I don’t actually own any antique golds, or even any true golds, but I have been wanting to pick something up. All of the golds I have are more in the champagne gold range. I’ve been thinking either MAC Gorgeous Gold or Goldmine, but I’m not sure which yet, and I’m open to suggestions.
mac sumptuous olive shadow (a bit more antique than pro mac pigment gold)
I LOVE gold eyeshadows. I like to mix them with greens. My current favorite is MAC Goldmine, which is warmer, so works better on my skintone. I’m also dying to get my hands on UD Honey liquid liner.
I like Smog by UD, if that counts? That kind of antique gold shade is just beautiful in my opinion. I particularly like when you can almost see some green in the shade, because it brings out the green flecks in my brown eyes.
Love the look of that MUFE aqua cream… Looks beautiful, however the Armani one looks a little too high res haha, almost a bit creepy, though I’m sure it’s a gorgeous shade too (: Thanks for all your effort, Christine, it’s much appreciated! xx
NARS etrusque is my favourite gold of all time! So stunning, got it in december 2010 and use it nearly every day and still aren’t anywhere near hitting pan!
Ooo I just got Armani Eyes to Kill Intense #14 today! I swatched it in the store and basically couldn’t put it back, and I can’t wait to see how it performs on my lids. I also have Maybelline Bold Gold, though I like the texture a bit less than the other Color Tattoo that I have. Paramaribo is another antique gold that I like. Gold is one of my all-time favorite because it does AMAZING things to light up my eyes!

Gold eyeshadows are beautiful especially in the warmer months, they never get old for me.
I love golds 🙂 Fyrinnae and BftE have some gorgeous golds.

I always wanted to try OCC pigments because I know they’re great. My favorites so far in my life, is Sugarpill’s ‘Goldilux” and Kryolan ‘Antique gold aqua color.’
MAC Woodwinked! And I have one from Inglot which is quite similar to MAC Sumptuous Olive but more golden than olive. Stunning!

I am a massive fan of gold eye colours! Although for everyday – and yes, I tend to wear them almost everyday – I am prefering the champagne inspired colours on my pale skin. Currently crushing on L’oreal’s Platinum Beige 🙂
what do you think about MAC cocomotion, henna, and copperized?
Those are nice, though Henna and Copperized are a little green. They’re all limited edition, so I’d never include those 🙁

You have to try i-Candy Couture’s ‘Breaking Dawn.’ Absolutely, not choice. There’s also a body shop minerla one, but I’ve lost track of mine :/
NYX Antique Gold, hands down. It is such an stunning shade and incredibly smooth. It’s gold and green and brown and shimmery yet somehow looks neutral and natural enough for every day
