Anastasia Soft Glam Eyeshadow Palette ($42.00 for 0.28 oz.) is a 14-pan palette in an assortment of warmer neutrals with finishes that ranged from matte to metallic. I created the look ideas around a “quad” of four shades with the expectation that one might bring in the appropriate brow bone or additional transitional shade based on skin tone. I know that I tend to use more like five or six shades in a typical look, but I think that four is a happy medium to give a good idea of the color scheme of a look while giving you the ability to lighten/darken as desired. I have listed the colors in this order: inner lid, middle of lid, outer lid/crease, and crease/above crease.

I wish this palette were more suited to my colouring and tastes because a feature like you’ve just done, Christine, would have me out and buying it in a flash. I may still cave as there are some shades here that would suit me and maybe it’ll move me out of my comfort zone.

Thanks. These combos are really great. Think Soft Glam is not calling me.
I don’t have this palette, but I love that you’ve been posting these combos. I often find myself in a rut with a lot of palettes in that I reach for the same shades over and over and can’t think of combinations for different looks.
Also am loving these posts! If I was not allergic to Anastasia shadows, I would have purchased this in a heartbeat! However, I do currently have a shopping list going for my next colourpop order based on some of the eyeshadows you featured on the colourpop post so yay!

So far I am not having any reaction to this shadows but after I started using MR my eye lids started to become very dry and later on the skin flaking off I read about similar experiences and stopped using it and within a few days it went away.. it’s sad because MR if my all time favorite palette ?
Cyclopentasiloxane and other volatile silicones cause that same reaction in me (along with eventual itchiness and redness but that’s probably bc I get eczema so easily). ABH shadows definitely have this ingredient. Makeup removers, silicone face/eye primers, eyeliners and base makeup can have it as well. I’ve only recently seen it in powder formulations.
EXACTLY! And these combos are like a road map for those of us who get lost with all the choices in a palette. I have the Mario palette (LE and no longer available) and find myself using the same 3 or 4 shades all the time; something like this would have encouraged me to try different shades and different combos.
Maybe have a separate link at the top for combo ideas?

I am so glad you posted these. Unfortunately, Soft Glam isn’t going to work for me. It’s just not love. Not enough colors I would use for myself so I wouldn’t be able to justify the cost of the palette.

This was “right on time.” I finally ordered Soft Glam during Ulta’s 20% promo, and will be getting my order tomorrow. Can’t wait to try some of your looks.

Thanks so much for posting this. I have this palette and have not fallen in love with it like I expected to. I’m going to try these combos!

I own this palette and love it
I’ve used it daily since i bought it.
Christine, thank you so much for doing posts like this one. I struggle with the larger palettes and always do the same look. The posts like these really help me to get the most out of my palettes. So a big THANK YOU to you!!!

I have this palette and I struggle mightily with it. The colours are all so dark-ish and brooding for my fair colouring, but they are amazing quality. I’ve used maybe four: tempera, dusty rose, rose pink and fairy, all with other palettes.
This time of year, I feel like I may as well put it in the winter pile and move on, but your 10.0, 11.0 and 12.0 (I think) I can see working with.
Thanks!
Karen
Oh I love your combo’s could you try doing these with Modern Ren/Mario Palette. I too find I can get in a rut. I like the palette just don’t LOVE the palette.
Thank you for posting this! I’ve been thinking to purchase ABH soft glam before the colourpop fortune palette came out. this colourpop palette looks so beautiful with kinda mix of “Modern Reinassance + Soft Glam”. Do you think should I steal or splurge on this palette? I’ve never tried any palettes from both brands
It’s a nice palette, but ColourPop is really just as good so I’d probably just save the money and go CP 😉

Ooh, I love that you’re doing this feature! Gives one ideas for how they could mix and match the various palette shades if they bought this palette.
This was SO helpful! Please do more posts like this 🙂
