Yes, I’d say so! If I’m somewhere that has access to really new or niche brands, definitely, and if it’s an area that might have a retailer that I don’t normally have access to, then I’ll stop in and see what brands they may carry in person that I only shop online.

I do because I keep thinking I’ll see a travel or other country exclusive but that’s never the case. I did end up with two travel exclusive palettes on my last trip; one was medicore and I decluttered it but the other one, a Clinque (eye, cheek, lip palette) and it’s my go-to work look (I have to be conservative for work and often go sans-eye makeup because my non-work preference is a smoky or glittery/metallic cat eye).
Yes, for sure. I travel frequently for work, often to other countries, and stopping by local beauty or airport duty free stores is both a welcome break and a chance to see what’s sold in those areas; I discovered Zoeva first in Germany and now have several of their brushes. Since I live in a smaller city, going to big cities in US or anywhere give me a chance to check out stores and brands we don’t have around here.
Not usually. However, I’m going to Europe for the first time in a month and a half (yay!) and I am definitely going to bring home some EU brands to play with 🙂
Absolutely! I much prefer trying something first before I buy, so if I can get access to a product (especially high end) that I can’t test at home, I add it to my “things to visit” list while I’m there.

Hard to say because I haven’t really travelled. I’ve been to the USA before but always with other people so I haven’t actively searched out new beauty products because I was never on my own schedule. However, if I ever went back to the states with just my boyfriend, you can bet your bottom dollar I will be dragging him to ulta to shop for brands that are hard to find in Canada (Lorac specifically).
Lorac is totally worth buying – I got a palette a few years ago and just love it and if we do back to the US again (I won’t spend my money there while Trump is being so bullying over NAFTA, among other reasons) I’d buy another one for sure.
Makeup and skincare shopping are major vacation activities for me. My husband was trained years ago that this will be part of the itinerary. Before traveling, I research the local products and stores to see if there is a product I want to try or a store I want to see and I certainly check out the local drugstores. Then again, I go into local supermarkets also. It is a nice break from “serious” sightseeing and I like to see how others live their daily lives.
I always think I will but it’s not really a priority for me and I end up forgetting. I live in a major metropolitan area in the US and am spoiled for choice here anyway. But am I thinking of going to Europe later this year and there are definitely some brands I am interested in. (I don’t know if they will be available where I go though, so I don’t want to get my heart too set on it.)
If by some chance I do get to travel out of state, or better yet, out of the US, I sure would! There are some things that I could really see myself enjoying, like a trip to a Bite Lab to make my very own lipstick. There’s also some very interesting and unique brands one may have access to that I’d at least want to go and take a look at!
As Disney World passholders, we go there quite often, and I always visit the Givenchy and Guerlain shops in Epcot’s France pavilion.
I love having the chance to purchase products that aren’t available “at home” – shamefacedly I admit that a highlight of being in Italy was getting to go to a Kiko store and purchase an eyeshadow quad. Ditto the time I was in Nice…. Of course, bopping over the border to the US (a practice which I’ve put on hold for the next 3 years) was nice because, again, I could easily purchase products not available in Canada.
I don’t travel these days, but when I was able to I would seek them out, but research items before I left home so I knew what I might like.
Oh, totally! Even if it’s something I can get “back home” I buy it anyway because when I use it later, I always remember where I got it.
Haven’t ‘traveled’ per se in 35 years. When I studied in Germany, there was no Zoeva, or probably Douglas. I did get the total classic Zeitgeist Biba Blue Roses along with a paper dress and hat at the flagship in London though. Was a tad intimidated by the Parisian shops. I felt so ‘student’ and non-chic. 2-3 years later, took 3+ mos Europe driving vacay w/ my mum, who wasn’t into m/u. Did score shoes in Florence. Wish i’d Known then that German and Dutch shoes fit me best…for genetic reasons! Now if i’d gone to the Olympics, would have had to take empty suitcases for K skincare. Currently, I just scout shops on day trips, and occ find a local indie gem.
I sure do! I always like to see what’s on offer wherever I go. Perfume, makeup, skincare and clothes are my holy grail.
I think there should be seats outside the shops so that our other halves can sit and pass the time so that we can look and see to our heart’s content.

Duty-free shops are EXCELLENT for skin care & makeup as well as perfumes nowadays. Seoul, Singapore, & Paris are my fave beauty destinations.

Local Singapore brands I love:
13rushes – inexpensive, hand trimmed brushes
INGA by 27A – the perfect matte lippy
Dr Georgia Lee- has her own line of skincare & makeup that is amazing
All the K- beauty – Innisfree, Chosungah 22, Sulwhasoo etc
The Japanese brands I love- Shiseido (we can’t get Shiseido hair care in the US), Cle de Peau (there’s a stand alone CdP shop that does facials too) , Hado Labo, there’s a Welcia-BHG that has all the cheapie Japanese brands that are so fab
Some American brands like Estee Lauder & Elizabeth Arden have products designed for Asia that you can’t get in the US – EL has a brightening line that is really great

Sometimes, it depends where I’m going and my budget. If I traveled outside the US, I’d definitely pick up something from another country as a souvenir.
Definitely! When I travel to the US, I always browse Sephora because a lot of brands are readily available there. We don’t have Sephora in the UK and international shipping costs are so high, so I take advantage.
When I accompany my husband on his trips to the US and he is off working I set off with my lists. Walmart and Sephora have items that we don’t in Canada. I have staple items that I purchase at Target, so I stock up there, also they are always bringing in new brands all the time. Ulta isn’t in Canada so that is one of my stops. I can keep busy for a few days just browsing these stores.
Yes! I live in a fairly small town, so whenever I’m traveling, I know I’ll have access to more brands!
