Bite Beauty Unearthed Collection for Spring 2018

The Details

This season, award-winning Amuse Bouche Liquified Lipstick rolls up its sleeves and gets dirty, with Unearthed—a collection of fresh shades inspired by the natural, gritty beauty of young root vegetables just plucked from the earth. Once again, Bite redefines liquid lipstick with its handcrafted, moisture-rich, high-pigment formula. Bite’s most nourishing lipstick, Amuse Bouche, gets liquified, while offering rich, high-impact color and creamy, comfortable application that glides on with unprecedented precision. Created by hand in small batches, Amuse Bouche Liquified Lipstick is made with natural monoi butter and coconut oil, melting at the temperature of your lips to glide on for ultimate wear and a satiny finish. The shades of this lipstick are defined by modern, wearable colors, and this collection is no exception. Once again, Bite gives everyday lip color an unexpected twist.

OMG I am going to go broke on these! I’m really into those beet-red colors lately. The middle 3 colors on the top row all look like something I’m going to want and I like those Bite liquid lip colors. There goes my tax refund!

Right? I remember a thread a year or so ago full of complaints that beauty companies are all either ridiculous and risque, uber-cutesy, or snooze-fest tradtional in their product naming; there was a lot of disgruntlement over the fact that no one seemed to know how to be original without being offensive or saccharine. Bite figured it out. Love it.

Exactly. And with Bite, their themes and names actually make sense. The Edgy Neutrals collection, named after mushrooms, were actually earthy, mushroom-y colours. These ones do relate to the colours of root vegetables. And both tie in nicely with Bite’s all-natural/ food-grade ingredients messaging.

I have a difficult time resisting any of Bite’s products, but I think I may have to pass on these. While they all look beautiful in photo, they don’t tend to swatch well on me (based on past experience with their liquid lipstick formula). The only color I currently enjoy is Eclair. I also find I need to be particularly careful with application, lest I end up with color on my teeth or on the corners of my mouth. The bullet formula is simply easier for me to apply. I do love the feel of the liquid formula, though. Can’t wait to see these beauties in store.
